Wife passed out during intercourse

Just wondering if this has ever happened or has anyone heard of this happening before. A few days ago my wife and I were going at it pretty good (we are both 67) and the next thing I know she is passed out in the bed. Her eyes were wide open but she was not responsive at all. I could tell she was breathing, which was a good thing.

Scared the shit out of me. She started making some sounds after a few minutes, but for the most part she was not aware of anything. Finally after about five to ten minutes I called 911. It took what seemed like forever for them to get there and when they did she was starting to come around. Ended up taking her to the ER and by the time she arrived she was back to normal. Really strange thing to go through.. I guess the whole experience lasted about 30 to 40 minutes.

This is a very important question, and hopefully she at least got a CAT scan. My wife is afraid of MRI's and she went to the hospital for dizziness. She refused to do the MRI, and started feeling better and insisted on going home. She would get dizzy from time to time, but not as serious as that time we went to the MRI. But there would also be temporary vision problems and headaches (but this is something that has affected for many years), and she would refuse to go back because she did not want an MRI. Then she had a stroke----fortunately it only affected her vision, she could not see clearly to her right side. But it could have been worse. I am sure that it could have all been avoided had she done the MRI, or gone back when it was attacking her and at least got a CAT scan.

I actually asked the question because I was thinking it could have been a TIA. Hoping it wasn't though.

yes, the doctor looked her over said she seemed ok. That was after waiting nearly 3 hours, some ER right!!!. He did want her to get a CT scan. We are making arrangements for that. After doing some research , I googled " can a women pass out during sex". It said yes she can and it is most likely called
"Vasovagal Syncope" it's where the Vagal nerve is over stimulated. So not uncommon.
