Since January the American military has been experiencing a unprecedented purge of senior officers considered not sufficiently loyal to Trump, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, half a dozen people at the National Security Agency, the Commandant of the US Coast Guard, Chief of Naval Operations, the Vice Chief of the US Air Force, the senior attorneys for all three branches, and our senior liaison to NATO. Meanwhile Trump has invaded Los Angeles and Washington, DC. Despite his bloviating, the deployment of armed National Guard troops to occupy the nation's capital is not meant to reduce crime; which is down 35% from 2023 and is the lowest it has been in over 30 years (In addition to the overall violent crime reduction, homicides are down 32%; robberies are down 39%; armed carjackings are down 53%; assaults with a dangerous weapon are down 27%, with the fewest assaults with dangerous weapons and burglaries in over 30 years). What this deployment is really meant to do is project power; to rapidly intimidate the population into submission and preemptively repress dissent or resistance. This is the function of an occupying army; subjugation. The occupation of LA and Washington DC have been so successful with so little pushback that the White House now wants a "Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force,” hundreds of National Guard troops outfitted with weapons and riot gear to be on constant standby and deployable in as little as one hour...deployable against American citizens exercising their 1st Amendment rights (both Trump and Hegseth have publicly fantasized about shooting peaceful unarmed protesters). Hegseth said the purges of military officers who take their oath to the Constitution seriously were “a reflection of the president wanting the right people around him to execute the national security approach we want to take.” I think "the national security approach they want to take" is another coup d'état. He's been systematically replacing senior military leadership with sycophants and MAGA loyalists. He's taken control of the Washington, D.C., police under the 1973 Home Rule Act. He successfully occupied the nation's capital militarily, and has now announced plans to occupy New York, Baltimore, Chicago, San Francisco, LA, and Oakland under the pretext of combating out-of-control crime waves (despite Trump's "American carnage" demagoguery, his own Department of Justice shows crime down across the board nationwide). Once he's militarily secured the nation's capitol and pre-positioned the National Guard in key population centers (with NORTHCOM as backup), all he needs is for his agent provocateurs to provide the pretext of a contrived Reichstag Fire for him to declare a (permanent) national emergency and invoke the Insurrection Act, nullifying posse comitatus and ushering in martial law and essentially unchecked executive power free of Congressional oversight or judicial review. The sad part about this is the government is sitting with their thumbs up their asses and allowing this shit to happen. Lest I forget, to all the people who voted this criminal into office - again? Do you not remember how he fucked you over during his first term? To me the greatest crime he committed was ignoring the danger posed by COVID. His denial, then offering dangerous solutions like bleach, then delaying the research and financing the vaccines until hunderds of thousands of Americans had died, then the anti-vax hysteria that he ignored/promoted, as his own followers refused vaccines and died. Big Karma played out there. And now his people learned the wrong lessons from COVID-19 and Trump's first presidency.
I agree - and a whole lot of people believed that he was doing the right thing... until he caught COVID-19 and made use of the medications that he was telling everyone else not to use. Many of the events of his first term should have told his sycophantic followers that he sucked as an elected official and president and to not repeat that mistake. Then, America set itself up to be fucked again by deciding that electing a convicted felon to the office was a better choice than a Black woman and I'm still not sure how the fuck that made sense to his MAGA cult - but it did and here we are watching him destroy the country and in line with a plan he helped put together to return the country to a point in time that wasn't all that great (I grew up in that time). He's already taken over the capital, is planning on doing the same thing to certain California cities, and that will allow him to say that the country's gone to shit so he's going to remain in office even though the Constitution says he can't. But the laws of the land don't mean anything to him. He's a rich motherfucker who is used to doing whatever he wants to do and getting away with it - and he's going to get away with destroying America and what it means to be an American.

Congress, if they were doing their fucking job the way they're supposed to, should be pitching every royal bitch that ever lived; the fucking Supreme Court should be slapping his ass down for abuse of power among other illegalities he's committed since taking office and beginning with revoking their decision that placed him above the law in the first place and immune from prosecution. A lot of people are going to push back against this internal invasion; a lot of people are going to get killed and some are going to be murdered by American troops because they can say that they were following orders. No internet, no economy, while China is building their own carefully regulated internet, and restricting the export of the rare earths needed to construct one. Once Wall Street sees the writing on the Wall, Donald Duck will be roasted for dinner. All those patriotic Americans, will start investing in Chinese companies. They have to upgrade the entire backbone of the internet first, which should require at least a year, a year of everyone in the world hacking even the banks now... Donald Duck may try to use the occasion to create a banana republic, but once Wall Street is exposed as so much smoke and mirrors, the international cartels will demand a different solution. When I was a kid and first joined these forums, I used to say I was born in the wrong time, that I wish the 60s were still here because people in the subculture were truthful and real and worked together to overcome adversity and expressed themselves and challenged the status quo and were more free and Jesus H Christ if I haven't regretted that dumb shit I wished for as a kid every single day of my life since November of 2016...
