Trump’s Gold Card Will Likely Not Generate Much Revenue | The Ripon Society

    excerpt:

As an illustration, consider the program that is closest in spirit to the gold card, the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. The EB-5 program provides a pathway to permanent residency (and ultimately citizenship) for immigrants who invest at least $1.8 million in the U.S. (or $900,000 in certain rural and high-unemployment areas) and create or preserve at least ten full-time jobs. If these conditions continue to be met after two years, the immigrant investor becomes eligible for a green card. This is a much more laborious and uncertain process than simply paying a fee, though the fee is significantly higher and, unlike an EB-5 investment, cannot be recouped.

    Another upside-down move.

If he wants to be even more outlandish, Trump could make his convicted and pardoned rioters deputies at the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

In a suit filed in Florida, convicted Proud Boy leaders whom Trump pardoned sue the U.S. government for $100 million over Jan. 6 prosecutions.

Trump wins in U.S. Supreme Court, at least temporarily. It ruled to lift a stay and let DOGE access personal Social Security information until the courts can decide later whether such behavior is legal.

Supreme Court sides with Trump in two DOGE suits

    excerpt:

“SSA may proceed to afford members of the SSA DOGE Team access to the agency records in question in order for those members to do their work.”

To do the work of Musk who has made unwarranted claims that the names of millions of dead people are being used by fraudsters to cheat Social Security.

DOGE isn't a formal department. It's a nebulous entity that was created by Trump with Musk, the world's richest person, put in charge of it as a temporary special government employee who has no experience in such work.

Yet the U.S. Supreme Court has granted such a flimsy, ill-defined entity the right to go through the personal information of the public until the courts determine later whether it's legal to do so.

An appropriate way to handle claims Musk has raised about Social Security is to have Congress set up a formal panel, committee, or commission to investigate it with competent people assigned who are required to be transparent.

ICE officers trapped in a shipping container with deportees.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/2025/06/05/djibouti-deportations-migrants-ice-trump/

    excerpt:

"Nearly a dozen immigration officers and eight deportees are sick and stranded in a metal shipping container in the searing-hot East African nation of Djibouti, where they face the constant threat of malaria and rocket attacks from nearby Yemen, according to a federal court filing issued Thursday.

A federal judge in Boston interrupted an Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation flight taking immigrants from Cuba, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Mexico to South Sudan more than two weeks ago. U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy said the flight violated his order prohibiting officials from sending immigrants to countries where they aren’t citizens without a chance to ask for humanitarian protection. He instructed officials to arrange screenings."

Trump administration returns Garcia to U.S. but charges him with two federal crimes.

    https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-elon-musk-news-06-06-25

    excerpt:

Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s attorney, said the government’s move to bring his client back to the US to face federal criminal charges after a months-long legal battle “shows that they were playing games with the court all along.”

“Due process means the chance to defend yourself before you’re punished, not after. This is an abuse of power, not justice,” Sandoval-Moshenberg said in a statement.

Abrego Garcia was deported to El Salvador in March, which violated a 2019 order from a judge that said he could not be deported to his home country because of fears that he would face gang violence.

“The government should put him on trial, yes — but in front of the same immigration judge who heard his case in 2019, which is the ordinary manner of doing things, ‘to ensure that his case is handled as it would have been had he not been improperly sent to El Salvador,’ as the Supreme Court ordered,” the attorney said.

Trump Brings Kilmar Abrego-Garcia Back, Completely Caving | The New Republic

    excerpt:

"Bondi alleged that Abrego Garcia had a “significant role” in a smuggling ring that moved people, as well as firearms and narcotics, and said that the illegal transport of undocumented immigrants was his “full-time job.”

“This is what American justice looks like,” Bondi said, seemingly referring to due process, which she conveniently ignored for the last three months.

Bondi said that if Abrego Garcia is convicted, the government plans to return him to El Salvador after he completes his sentence, once again violating a judge’s order preventing his removal."

It's what Trump's justice looks like. Deporting someone in March with no due process, holding him in a terrorist prison in El Salvador until June, bring him back to the U.S., and retroactively charging him with two federal crimes.

Yes, a serious risk of flight. Trump might illegally deport him again after he was in the U.S. for 11 years with his wife and child, not wanting to leave the U.S., and after a judge ruled in 2019 that he had a right to stay in the U.S.

People as hateful as Trump, Musk, and Bannon have a difficult time maintaining any sense of unity.

Elon Musk bashes Steve Bannon as ‘a criminal’ after podcast host urges Trump to seize SpaceX

    excerpt:

WASHINGTON — Elon Musk lashed out at Trump ally Steve Bannon Friday, calling the former White House chief strategist “a criminal” after Bannon urged the president to seize Musk’s SpaceX company and to deport the South African-born billionaire.

Replying to an X post rehashing Bannon’s call for Trump to use the Defense Production Act to take over Musk’s space exploration company, the Tesla CEO posted that “Bannon advocates crime, because he is a criminal.”

Am seeing Trump speaking on TV while in the background seeing Judge Jeanine Pirro standing there, giving that Victoria Gotti vibe. She is a judge in DC having left Fox: The Five. It's concerning that she is in a position to influence Trump. Shocking that right on TV she had said: "People suffering TDS should be institutionalised" shocking. Trump surrounds himself with the worst people. Politics can provide a lot of giggles, there is nothing funny about advocating your oppont being put away.

In these circumstances Mr Garcia might be shot by his handlers in a crime syndicate. They do not want him babbling about family business on TV
He is safer in protective custody.

That's assuming he has"handlers" in a crime syndicate. Whatever happened to being presumed innocent until proven guilty?

Trump activates National Guard to crush anti-ICE protest in LA

    excerpt:

“If Governor Gavin Newscum, of California, and Mayor Karen Bass, of Los Angeles, can’t do their jobs, which everyone knows they can’t, then the Federal Government will step in and solve the problem, RIOTS & LOOTERS, the way it should be solved!!!” Trump wrote.

Trump adminstration is scrambling to rehire workers it fired.

In Trumpworld it's known as improving government efficiency.

Trump team scrambles to rehire workers cut by DOGE to fill critical government roles

    excerpt:

"Between experienced employees who took early retirement offers, those who found jobs in the private sector, and those uninterested in returning to a chaotic environment, the government is having trouble filling roles."
