Well, there goes my medical care. I've been out of work since December, and despite paying into Medicaid for over twenty years, I can no longer use it to cover healthcare directly related to gender transition because the constant fucking need for Republicans to police other people's bodies.

Not even chasers are this obsessed with trans people. Fuck this cocksucker.

In Trump's perception, it's ok to needlessly start a trade-war induced recession that will supposedly save his supporters who were left behind by the Great Recession (the one Obama inherited from G.W. Bush)

AFGE Fights House Republicans’ $50 Billion Cuts to Federal Workers’ Retirement, Attack on Merit System

    excerpt:

"House Republicans are pursuing at least $50 billion in cuts to Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) benefits to help pay for a $4.5 trillion package of tax cuts that would primarily benefit the rich and large corporations, a priority for President Trump.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on April 30 advanced the steep cuts over 10 years to federal employee retirement benefits. If included in final legislation, this proposal would hurt the finances and retirement of federal employees and undermine the workforce’s ability to deliver services to all Americans."

As Trump’s ratings slide, polling data reveals the scale of Fox News’s influence on US politics

    excerpt:

"Donald Trump’s ratings continue to slide on most issues. Recent Economist/YouGov polling across the US, completed on May 9-12, shows 51% think the country is on the wrong track, while only 45% have a favourable impression of his job as president. On inflation and prices in the shops, only 35% approve of his handling of this policy.

Trump seems to be scoring particularly badly with young voters. Around 62% of young people (18 to 29s) have an unfavourable opinion of the president, compared with 53% of the over-65s."

The young people voted for Trump.

During an interview just before the 2024 election, an 18-year-old said he was voting for Trump because you can sit down and talk about anything with Trump.

Now he can sit down with Trump and talk about how his policies are hurting him.

He would first have to get past all the ultra-billionaires at Mar-a-Lago and the White House.

    Tampa again.

The strangest stories emerge from Tampa, Trump's hot spot for his rioters at the Capitol who used violence to try to obtain what they wanted.

A former Florida Republican congressional candidate gets 3 years for threatening primary opponent

"TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A former Florida Republican congressional candidate accused of stalking and plotting to have his primary opponent murdered by a purported foreign hit squad was sentenced Wednesday to three years in federal prison.

William Robert Braddock III, 41, of St. Petersburg was sentenced in Tampa federal court, according to court records. He pleaded guilty in February to sending an interstate transmission of a threat to injure."

Tactics not unlike that of Trump.

Trump makes veiled threats about people he doesn't like. He said his envoy to Ukraine, Yovanovitch, would go through some things for not going along with his plot to use Ukraine to promote his campaign. He eventually got rid of her.

Trump also made a remark picked up during an audio recording say that he want to 'take her out.'

    Marie Yovanovitch - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"An audio tape from April 2018, recorded at a private dinner between Trump and top donors and made public by ABC News in January 2020, captures Trump demanding Yovanovitch's removal, saying: "Get rid of her! Get her out tomorrow. I don't care. Get her out tomorrow. Take her out. Okay? Do it."[9][52][53] The recording appeared to corroborate Parnas' account that he had told Trump that night that Yovanovitch was working against Trump.[9]"

Lev Parnas was involved in Trump's smear campaign against Yovanovitch. He apologized to her in 2020.

Parnas went to prison for his schemes to try to bring in money to the Republican party illegally. Trump pleads ignorance and says he doesn't know him after standing right next to him in various photo-ops including at the White House with Pence and Giuliani.

Trump launched a smear campaign against Yovanovitch for not going along with his smear campaign against Biden that involved withholding U.S. government money to Ukraine for which Trump was later impeached.

Zelensky was already the leader of Ukraine in that era but it was before Putin started his war against Ukraine. Putin was still busy using Trump as a dupe to disparage the EU and NATO to prepare for his war on Ukraine.

It worked out to Putin's advantage. Trump blamed the war on Biden.

Trump threatens Apple with 25% tariff to try to force it to make all aspects of its phones in the U.S.

He's also threatening other tech companies.

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/05/23/economy/trump-threatens-tariff-apple

    excerpt:

"The world’s most valuable publicly traded company is flush with cash and rakes in tremendous profit — more than any company in history. But Apple has long contended that it cannot manufacture iPhones in America.

Apple has invested billions of dollars training millions of skilled engineers abroad. China and India, with their massive populations, simply have more skilled engineers than the United States does. And it costs Apple significantly less to pay those workers."

Trump says 'I could' get Abrego Garcia back from El Salvador

    excerpt:

"--the power of the presidency, you could call up the president of El Salvador and say, 'Send him back right now,'" Moran explained.

"And if he were the gentleman that you say he is, I would do that," Trump offered, before saying, "I'm not the one making this decision."

"You're the president," Moran told him.

"I-- no, no, no, no. If-- follow the law. You want me to follow the law. If I were the president that just wanted to do anything, I'd probably keep him right where he is—" Trump said.

"The Supreme Court says what the law is," Moran said.

Trump replied, referencing immigration, saying he "was elected to take care of a problem" that was an "unforced error that was made by a very incompetent man," – an apparent jab at President Joe Biden.

Leavitt defends Trump's blatant false claims about white genocide.

    https://www.npr.org/2025/05/24/nx-s...al-site-video-reopens-wounds-says-victims-son

    excerpt:

"Contrary to Trump's claims, no bodies were ever buried along that road and the white crosses don't mark graves.

Asked on Thursday if the president got it wrong, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt gave this explanation.

"What's unsubstantiated about the video? The video shows crosses that represent the dead bodies of people who were racially persecuted by their government," she said.

The crosses didn't represent a specific number of farm murder victims, they were a symbolic tribute to the murdered couple.

During the meeting, Trump also held up a printout of a blog post showing a photo taken by Reuters , from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, mistakenly claiming it was taken in South Africa."
