I saw that. It's an opinion piece by Bethany Blankley, a right wing FOX entertainment and Newsmax contributor "and commentator on Christianity and politics in America". She writes her opinion on various subjects such as: Trump's Religious Upbringing and Faith Journey Chronicled in New Book (It's a joy to read). I like to check for facts, not unsupported opinions.
I agree that the response to the above topic is subjective. The question should be is which one is the greatest threat to American freedom. The choice is obvious but everyone is probably afraid to make a choice. The thought of a henchman visiting my home in the night is too frightening.
It's only subjective until real damage is done, like ignoring the rule of law, abandoning our allies on the battle field, undermining the separation of power, threatening to take over other countries and their interests such as Greenland and the Panama Canal, etc.
Didn't say either one was causing the boat to sink. It could have hit an iceberg. People often blame someone for problems caused by outside sources and calling people names certainly does not help any situation.
Let me rephrase your statement so as to eliminate the derogatory word "moron". "The biggest assholes are those who think that anyone who doesn't have the same beliefs is a moron", becomes; The biggest assholes are those who think that anyone who doesn't have the same beliefs is not very intelligent or ignorant of scientific facts. If you believe the Earth is an oblate spheroid and I believe it is flat, there is nothing wrong with you thinking I am not very intelligent or ignorant of scientific facts (or in common parlance a moron); as the objective fact is that the Earth is an oblate spheroid. However, if you believe that blueberry Pop-Tarts taste the best and I insist that cinnamon Pop-Tarts taste the best and therefore you think that I am not very intelligent or ignorant of scientific facts (or in common parlance a moron); it would be wrong for you to think that I am not very intelligent or ignorant of scientific facts (or in common parlance a moron); as which Pop-Tart tastes the best is subjective, not objective.
Maybe this will help to explain it GregS" __________________________________________________ THIS WAS ON A FRIEND’S PAGE: An anguished question from a Trump supporter: ‘Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?’ THE SERIOUS ANSWER: Here’s what https://www.usatoday.com/.../trump-university.../502387002/) That when you saw a man who had made it his business practice to stiff his creditors, you said, "Okay." BEST POST OF THE PAST 10 YEARS!! Hope trump doesn't get a gander at this--it'll make him mad enough o go out and grab some pussy!!
A person drilling holes in a sinking boat, in that person's mind, is doing it to let the water out, which is intelligent. From that person's perspective, those who disagree and think it's foolish are just being (as Trump would say) mean and unfair to him. YouTube video: The Three Stooges - "Wait a minute, I'll fix it!" Making more holes in a sinking boat to let the water out.
As goofy as Moe was, he at least knew not to put more holes in the boat. In Trump's second term, the few rational minds he had during his first term are gone. Even the few scraps of sense that Moe occasionally showed aren't there.
"ignorant of scientific facts." The trouble with this explanation is much of what is being put out there as "fact" , simply is not. When I was much younger we were told an ice age was coming and the thought was to spread coal dust in the Artic to warm up the planet. 20 years ago we were told the oceans were going to rise and cities will be flooded in ten years. See attached article.. A Brief History of Fantastically Wrong Climate Change Predictions | News/Talk 1130 WISN. Like it or not, with many scientists it's as simple as follow the money.
In science facts are the best current explanation for what we observe. When a better explanation comes along...the facts change. Dogma is when facts don't change. In 1958 recorded CO2 levels in the atmosphere showed a steady rise in CO2 levels. In the sixties computers were used to refine the current knowledge and the models showed that the rise in CO2 could produce a warming of 3.6 degrees F in the next century. In the seventies it was found that from 1940 to1970 the Earth had cooled rather than warmed due to a sudden rise in the use of aerosol pollutants. The media dubbed this another Ice Age. Aerosol pollutants were banned and the temperature resumed rising. The summer of 1988 was the hottest on record...it has since been surpassed. It is erroneous to claim that scientific facts change because many scientists follow the money. Science facts change because we gain new knowledge of how the universe works.
I don't support Trump but I didn't support Biden either. Not all liars are politicians. but all politicians are liars. Every president since FDR has lied about something important. Some examples that come to mind. FDR lied about his health. Kennedy lied about his affairs. Nixon lied about Watergate. Clinton lied about sex. (If you have an orgasm, it's sex.) I've yet to find an honest politician. They are all in politics for their benefit. How do so many members of Congress become so rich so quickly? Corey Bush went from middle class to multimillionaire inside of 4 years. It doesn't matter if you're a Republican or a Democrat, get elected to Congress and become rich while identifying as just one of the common people. The last 60 years politics has gotten stupider than I could have ever imagined. President Kennedy once said " ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country ". Now it's seems like just the opposite. Sometimes I think we should have a fire sale.
No, the facts do not change, it means the scientists were wrong. Facts are facts, regardless of our understanding.
Unfortunately, too many scientists do follow the money--dished out by fossil fuel companies for testimony challenging climate change. Many of these shills had previously been employed by the tobacco industry, where they played a similar role. Tobacco and Oil Industries Used Same Researchers to Sway Public But fortunately, most have retained their professional integrity. The ‘97% climate consensus’ is over. Now it’s well above 99% (and the evidence is even stronger than that) https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/climate-change-scientists-oppenheimer/ More than 99.9% of studies agree: Humans caused climate change
