MS is one of 12 states that has a total or near total ban on abortion which took effect after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade with the help of Trump putting three justices on the court.

The overturning has emboldened lawmakers to propose legislation even more fringe that what has already been proposed and enacted that takes away rights from women.
