Example of how people can be emboldened by Trump. Man attacks reporter in Grand Junction, Colorado. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/12/28/colorado-man-trumps-america-now-00196098 excerpt: "After arriving in Grand Junction, Egan, who was driving a taxi, pulled up next to Alex at a stoplight and, according to an arrest affidavit, said something to the effect of: “Are you even a U.S. citizen? This is Trump’s America now! I’m a Marine and I took an oath to protect this country from people like you!” Alex, who had been out reporting, then drove back to his news station in the city. After he got out of his vehicle, Egan chased Alex as he ran toward the station’s door and demanded to see his identification, according to the document laying out police’s evidence in the case. Egan then tackled Alex, put him in a headlock and “began to strangle him,” the affidavit said. Coworkers who ran out to help and witnesses told police that Alex appeared to be losing his ability to breathe during the attack, which was partially captured on surveillance video, according to the document."

At the same time, a copy of Mesa County’s hard drive was displayed and discussed at a “cyber symposium” hosted by Mike Lindell, the MyPillow CEO who has been at the center of false claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen."
It's a prime example of how Trump manipulates the minds of people and turn situations backward. His riot at the Capitol showed how he was able to manipulate the minds of people in the military, law enforcement, and rescue services like firefighting into attacking the people they were supposed to be defending. Number of Capitol riot arrests of military, law enforcement and government personnel rises to 52 Capitol rioters included highly trained ex-military and cops
Image of former NYPD officer Webster attacking a police officer during the Capitol riot. Webster said during his criminal trial that he was trying to calm the officer by showing him his hands didn't have any weapons. Webster was sentenced to ten years in prison. Trump will probably say he was treated unfairly and pardon him. image:
Opinion | Why it's hard to find comfort in Trump voters' likely suffering excerpt: "The common denominator is an ongoing refusal to take Trump’s own words at face value. Throughout the 2024 presidential campaign, it became clear that many of his supporters only believed what they wanted to believe and with a wave of their hand dismissed the most brutal or authoritarian of his promises. In a post-election New York Times focus group, many of the 14 participants who voted for him were still praising Trump for policies he doesn’t support or beliefs he doesn’t hold. There likewise appears to be a broad assumption among many of his voters that if Trump’s policies produce negative results, then they, their businesses and their loved ones will somehow be part of the exception, not the rule. Their suspension of belief didn’t come from nowhere, though. Trump is a master of telling an audience exactly what it wants to hear. When talking about abortion, he has sought to dodge and weave. In an interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker, he denied wanting his Justice Department to persecute his political enemies even when his own speeches and supporters have made clear his intention to do so. His proposed solutions to specific problems like inflation are vague enough to become a blank vessel for people to fill with their own hopes and desires. It doesn’t help that some of his supporters’ media diet means that they’re not getting the clearest view of his plans."
A man in another news article summed it up with his words about why he voted for Trump but now regrets it. "But I just wanted to believe that Trump would..."
Trump ally says Ukraine focus must be peace, not territory excerpt: Bryan Lanza, who worked on Trump's 2024 presidential campaign, told the BBC the incoming administration would ask Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his version of a "realistic vision for peace". "And if President Zelensky comes to the table and says, well we can only have peace if we have Crimea, he shows to us that he's not serious," he said. "Crimea is gone." A spokesperson for Trump distanced the incoming president from the remarks, saying Mr Lanza "does not speak for him".

Former Trump adviser O'Brien admits on Fox that climate change is for real and causing a security issue for the U.S. in the arctic region that involves Greenland. Former Trump adviser finally admits climate change exists to justify threatened Greenland takeover excerpt: Robert O’Brien appeared on Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News, suggesting that the U.S. could limit its use of the Panama Canal “as the climate gets warmer” and turn instead to opening waterways in the Arctic along Greenland. “Greenland is a highway from the Arctic all the way to North America, to the United States,” O’Brien said. “It’s strategically very important to the Arctic, which is going to be the critical battleground of the future because as the climate gets warmer, the Arctic is going to be a pathway that maybe cuts down on the usage of the Panama Canal.”
Dictator families have a propensity to stay in power. The Marcos family. Article from 2022. The Marcos Family Is Returning To Power In The Philippines excerpt: "Some 36 years after the People Power Revolution restored democracy to the Philippines, a member of perhaps the most brutal and corrupt political dynasty in the nation’s memory is set to return to the Philippine presidency. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., has won the presidential election, according to preliminary results. It will return him to the Malacanang Palace where he lived as a child and from which his parents fled in 1986. His running mate, Sara Duterte, the daughter of current President Rodrigo Duterte, is also set to win the vice presidency by a landslide. Both candidates hail from political dynasties with long histories of abuses of power. The human rights offenses of the first Marcos regime, from 1965 to 1986, are well documented, involving an estimated 3,257 deaths and over 50,000 victims who were tortured and detained during the martial law period alone. Also well documented is the estimated $10 billion Marcos plundered."
https://www.npr.org/2024/12/30/nx-s1-5230801/qanon-capitol-riot-social-media excerpt: "That same year, billionaire Elon Musk, who's now one of Trump's closest allies, bought Twitter and renamed it X. He allowed banned QAnon accounts to return. Both Trump and Musk have repeatedly shared QAnon-related content on their respective social media platforms, which seems to be a way to wink at the movement. "It's incredibly dangerous when we do see high profile figures amplify this language and symbols because it provides adherents this perceived legitimacy to their beliefs and their movement," said Keneally, who pointed out that QAnon has been associated with violence, including the Capitol riot."
Musk seems to be growing weary of the toxicity he created. Trump Endorses Mike Johnson in Deranged Post Mostly About Himself | The New Republic excerpt: Elon Musk is asking you to make X a more upbeat place. The tech billionaire pleaded with his 209 million X followers on Sunday, placing the onus of change for his dwindling social media investment on site users rather than himself. “Please post a bit more positive, beautiful or informative content on this platform,” Musk posted. X accounts were quick to throw the ball back into Musk’s court, urging him to create an algorithm where positive content could actually proliferate. “You first,” snapped back lawyer and bluegrass banjo player Steve Martin. “Getting tired of the toxic wasteland you created?” replied author Karen Piper.

Steven Cheung thinks that Trump's reelection will somehow give him clout in the appeals court system to overturn his two defamation suit losses to Carroll. Cheung's remark: “The American People have re-elected President Trump with an overwhelming mandate, and they demand an immediate end to the political weaponization of our justice system and a swift dismissal of all of the Witch Hunts, including the Democrat-funded Carroll Hoax, which will continue to be appealed.”

Denmark boosts Greenland defense after Trump repeats his desire to control it. The way things are going, Denmark is going to have to eventually defend itself from Putin on one side and Trump on the other trying to take its land away. Denmark boosts Greenland defence after Trump repeats desire for US control
Remark by O'Brien: “They can let us buy Greenland from [Denmark], and Greenland can become part of Alaska. I mean, the native people in Greenland are very closely related to the people of Alaska, and we will make it a part of Alaska.”
O'Brien is talking like Putin and Hitler. Someone else's land supposedly belonged to Hitler (Czechoslovakia) or Putin (Ukraine) because the people of the country being stolen are supposedly more like those of the country whose dictator is stealing it than they are of the country being stolen. Hitler was given a portion of Czechoslovakia based on that premise and to try to appease him in a land-for-peace deal. About a year later he stole the whole country. Trump associate O'Brien is proffering that the people of Greenland supposedly are more like those in Alaska; therefore, the U.S. is entitled to take Greenland from Denmark and make it part of Alaska. A Trump narrative is that Denmark supposedly isn't defending Greenland sufficiently; therefore, the U.S. is entitled to take it over. Even if such remarks currently aren't an outright formal claim to steal land from Denmark but rather something else like purchasing it, the underlying stilted narrative to try to justify it is similar to that used by Hitler and Putin. Large conflicts can start with this type of warped mentality that initially might seem innocuous.
