Doesn't sound like Trump's 'forgotten people'.

Yet his forgotten people think that a Trump administration stacked with billionaires is going to solve their problems.

Trump said there would be no price limit on his quest to deport people from the U.S.

Trump’s mass deportation plans thrown into doubt by Republican rebels

    excerpt:

"A report from the American Immigration Council, a pro-immigration group, estimated that deporting one million migrants a year would cost at least $88 billion.

Mr Trump also pledged to renew the tax cuts he introduced in 2017 – at a cost of around $4 trillion – and remove taxes from tips, overtime and social security.

In a further headache for the incoming president, Republicans only succeeded in winning a razor-thin majority in the House with 220-215, which will shrink even further since three members were offered jobs in his administration."

Recurring statement by some of Trump's supporters today who are beginning to realize that his pledged quests will damage the economy and them when they didn't want to believe he would pre-election:

"But I wanted to believe that Trump would..."

It's like buying a junker car cheap knowing full well that it is broken, the seller even say so, and after purchasing it being upset that it's a junk car.

For others it's: "I knew that Trump's pledged policies could hurt me financially, but his bigotry resonated with me so well that I had to vote for him."

That one's like buying a junk car from a seller because his personality and ideology are liked so well.

The Trump Era Came Into Sharper View This Week. God Help Us. | The New Republic

    excerpt:

"Those confirmations will include, as I mentioned above, Patel, who as of this week looks like he’s on a glidepath to confirmation. So reassuring, in a week that started with Trump telling Kristen Welker that the members of the House January 6 committee belong in prison. It’s another marker of how grotesquely Trump has debased American political culture that a president-elect can dangle the threat of jail time in the faces of incumbent elected representatives and it’s barely even news."

Why so many people voted for Trump − 5 things to understand about MAGA supporters’ thinking

    excerpt:

"In 2022, a poll found 7 out of 10 Republicans worried that “open borders” were part of a Democratic plot to expand liberals’ power by replacing conservative white people with nonwhite foreigners.

Trump played into some people’s mostly false concerns that immigrants living illegally in the U.S. are freeloaders and won’t assimilate, as illustrated by his untrue September 2024 allegations that immigrants were eating pets in Ohio."

Trump made a reference that sounded like he liked Hannibal Lecter because an actor who played him was supportive of Trump, which would have been Jon Voight who never played Hannibal Lecter.

Anthony Hopkins played Hannibal Lecter. Hopkins bears a resemblance to Voight.

Trump is known for mistaking one person for another who either look similar or have similar sounding names. Voight and Hopkins were born in the late 1930's.

If the economy doesn't continue to improve as Trump said it would and if it goes downhill, the people can take solace in knowing that they voted against Hannibal Lecter and that they have hope that daylight will start at 4:30 am in the warmer weather months and the U.S. will take control of the Panama Canal.

    Trump's War With Palm Beach
For Palm Beachers, watching Trump claw and bluster his way through the Republican primary has a familiar ring.

    excerpt:

"The thing with Trump is that he’s always at war, a man on a mission to get the next thing, whether it’s the biggest pole, the best social gathering of the season, or the idea that the rest of America should be calling him “Mr. President.”

And woe be to those who get in his way."

    https://www.politico.com/news/2024/12/20/judges-trump-jan6-clemency-warnings-00195496

    excerpt:

"In extraordinary but little-watched court proceedings since Election Day, judges appointed by presidents of both parties have emphasized the need for accountability for the people who stormed the Capitol in an attempt to derail the certification of Joe Biden’s 2020 victory. These judges have sounded dire warnings about the fate of the country if the lessons of the 2020 election go unlearned, and they are bluntly bracing for a turbulent start to the second Trump presidency."
