Trump follows through on his threat and sues the Des Moines register and pollster Selzer over the poll that showed him losing to Harris by three percent. Trump won by 13%.

Trump sues Iowa pollster Ann Selzer and Des Moines Register newspaper

    excerpt:

It attacks Selzer’s reputation as a standard-bearing pollster, alleging that the polling miss showing Harris with a lead in Iowa that never materialized was intended to sway the race. The suit argues a pattern by Selzer of attempting to influence political races in favor of Democrats and that her large platform offers "a significant and impactful opportunity to deceive voters."

Trump furious about Merchan not vacating the NY hush money conviction.

Trump rails against judge who refused to overturn hush-money conviction

    excerpt:

“In a completely illegal, psychotic order, the deeply conflicted, corrupt, biased, and incompetent Acting Justice Juan Merchan has completely disrespected the United States Supreme Court, and its Historic Decision on Immunity,” wrote Trump, who returns to the White House on 20 January.

In a fulminating broadside, he denounced Merchan – an experienced judge who has tried multiple complex cases in 17 years on the bench – as a “radical partisan” and accused him of writing “an opinion that is knowingly unlawful, goes against our constitution and, if allowed to stand, would be the end of the presidency as we know it”.

As much of a lackey as Barr was to Trump, Barr didn't allow Trump to make Kash Patel assistant director to the FBI toward the end of his first term.

Trump has nominated Patel to be FBI director in his second term.

Trump is trying various legal options to try to stop the sentencing in his hush money criminal case and, more boldly, to vacate the conviction itself. An attempt by Trump to vacate it failed this week.

Trump lost on immunity. What's next for his New York hush money conviction?

    excerpt:

"However, Trump is also arguing that sentencing can't take place anytime soon, even if Merchan rules against tossing out the convictions. In a motion earlier this month, Trump argued Merchan would need to let him fully pursue an appeal to move the case out of Merchan's hands and into a federal court before sentencing could take place.

That's another unprecedented argument for courts to address, at least when it comes to an ex-president and president-elect.

It all amounts to a lot of uncertainty about the fate of Trump's hush money case."

If 41% of young people feel ok with an assassination, they can be expected to be ok with other criminal behavior, whether it's a president like Trump committing it or an ordinary citizen.

41% of people of age 18 to 29 years consider assassination of healthcare CEO acceptable.

    excerpt:

22% of Democrats found the killer's actions acceptable, while 59% found them unacceptable. Among Republicans, 12% found the actions acceptable while 16% of independents said the same.

Trump demands that the debt ceiling be permanently eliminated during the Biden administration or else he will shut down the government and blame the shut down on Biden.

Trump threatens government shutdown unless debt limit demand met, blames Biden if it happens

    excerpts:

"By doing what I'm doing, I put it into the Biden administration," Trump said. "In this administration, not in my administration."

When asked about concerns about a potential shutdown, the president-elect reiterated there will be a shutdown if the debt ceiling isn't addressed, and claimed it would be Biden's fault.

    Significant win for Trump.

GA court disqualifies DA Willis from continuing with the election subversion case.

    The case hasn't been dismissed.

Georgia appeals court disqualifies DA Fani Willis and her team from Trump election interference case

    excerpt:

The court said while it recognizes that "an appearance of impropriety generally is not enough to support disqualification, this is the rare case in which disqualification is mandated and no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these proceedings."

Musk and Trump say they are against the bipartisan stop-gap bill that was reached this week to fund the government into next year.

Speaker John apparently is going to try to re-negotiate. That gives him about a full day before Friday when members of Congress leave for Christmas vacation.

If a renegotiated agreement isn't reached, the government could be shut down during the holidays and into 2025.
