The satiral website The Onion won the auction for Alex Jones' Infowars website with the help of money from the Sandy Hook families that was obtained through the Jones bankruptcy proceedings.

The Onion took Infowars off the air as Jones and Bannon were talking.

Bannon was released from prison shortly before the 2024 election. He served four months for contempt of Congress for not appearing to answer questions about Trump's scheme to overthrow the 2020 election.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2024/11/14/infowars-auction-alex-jones-sandy-hook-the-onion/

    excerpt:

"The fate of far-right website Infowars will be controlled by the Onion after the satirical news site emerged as the winning bidder of Wednesday’s private auction of the media company founded by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones — an outcome the Onion’s CEO called “cosmic justice.”

Infowars and its property are among the personal assets Jones was forced to sell in a court-ordered auction after a bankruptcy judge in June sought to compel Jones to pay the roughly $1.5 billion in damages he owes for claiming that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a hoax."

Democratic Gov. Jared Polis Praises RFK Jr.’s HHS Selection

    excerpt:

"Other Democrats were quick to criticize Kenendy’s selection. Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., said on X he thought picking Kennedy was “f***ing insane,” adding: “He will destroy our public health infrastructure and our vaccine distribution systems.” Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., said on X that Kennedy’s selection “could not be more dangerous,” noting he will be dealing with “life or death issues” and “there's no telling how far an anti-vaxxer & fringe conspiracy theorist like RFK Jr. could set America back in terms of public health, reproductive rights, research, & more.” Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., said Kennedy’s “outlandish views on basic scientific facts are disturbing and should worry all parents who expect schools and other public spaces to be safe for their children,” NBC News reported."

More of the public voted for Trump who they deemed to be dangerous and extreme than they did for Harris who they said was even-tempered, down-to-earth, a good role model, mentally sharp, caring about people, moral, honest, well-informed, and likeable.

    Why voters chose Trump

    excerpt:

"Strikingly, voters still had and have a fairly low view of Trump. In 538's favorability tracker, 52 percent of Americans view him unfavorably, giving him around a -8 net favorability rating. (Though it's an improvement from his ratings right after leaving office, when he was around 18 points underwater.) In a YouGov/Yahoo News poll from right before the election, 42 percent of Americans said Trump was "dangerous," and 41 percent said he was "extreme on the issues." (Fewer — 29 percent and 27 percent, respectively — said the same of Harris.)

In contrast, Harris's net favorability rating had briefly broken into positive territory in the run-up to Election Day — though it dipped back to around -2 in early November. In a Pew Research Center survey from early September, Harris beat Trump on eight of nine positive personal qualities, with Americans saying she was more even-tempered, a good role model, down-to-earth, mentally sharp, honest, cared about the needs of ordinary people, had a good sense of humor and was well-informed, in relation to Trump.

Trump beat Harris on one metric, with more respondents saying he "stands up for what [he believes] in." In a Gallup survey of registered voters from September, Harris similarly had a large advantage (ranging from 22 to 8 percentage points) over Trump on likability, moral character and honesty."

The public has shown its lack of understanding of how tariffs work.

    Why voters chose Trump

    excerpt:

"But tariffs are admittedly a complicated policy issue, and ultimately it's not clear that many voters understand that American companies pay the tariffs on goods they import, and often pass those costs onto consumers in the form of higher prices.

Fewer than half of registered voters surveyed in a mid-September poll from Florida Atlantic University/Mainstreet Research thought that tariffs would increase costs for American consumers. Twenty percent thought that the foreign countries would absorb the costs of the tariffs, 22 percent didn't know and 9 percent thought there would be no effect. (Trump has claimed on the campaign trail that foreign countries will pay these tariffs, reminiscent of his 2016 promise that Mexico would pay for a border wall.)"

Fetterman's remarks about the pro-Trump euphoria in PA turned out to be foreboding.

Most polls were showing the PA race to be a toss-up.

Trump won PA in 2024 by about 1.8%.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/14/us/politics/todd-blanche-deputy-attorney-general-trump.html

    excerpt:

“Anybody spends time driving around, and you can see the intensity. It’s astonishing,” Fetterman said of the wave of support the Republican nominee has experienced.

He referenced Trump superstores throughout the state that sell t-shirts, bumper stickers, hats, and other paraphernalia as staples of the leader’s widespread impact.

“It was almost like Taylor Swift kind of swag. It’s like of everything. It wasn’t just a sign,” Fetterman recounted. “It’s the kinds of thing that has taken on its own life on that. And it’s like something very special exists there. And that doesn’t mean that I admire it.”

Americans literally took 'end of democracy' in the 2024 election in the hopes that someone obsessed with implementing trade wars will make their grocery bill go down.

And to think Americans have made jokes about Native Americans giving up plots of their land to Europeans for a box a liquor.

Trump nominee for Director of National Intelligence, Gabbard, was a fill-in host for the Tucker Carlson show on Fox.

Trump's nominee to run the Pentagon, Hegseth, was a weekend host on Fox & Friends.

    Tulsi Gabbard - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"In August 2022, Gabbard started serving as the fill-in host for Tucker Carlson Tonight, and continued to be frequent guest host of Tucker Carlson Tonight until its cancellation in 2023.[23]

In November 2022, Gabbard signed a deal with Fox News as a paid contributor after years of being a frequent guest on several of their programs. She also serves as a frequent guest and occasional host on shows such as The Five, Outnumbered, Hannity, Jesse Watters Primetime, Gutfeld! and more.[24] "

So how WILL Trump deport 20 million? It's the bold pledge that helped propel him back into the White House. Now our US Editor reveals his $1trillion 'shock and awe' blueprint... | Daily Mail Online

    excerpt:

"Experts say the cost of the first two steps could be as much as $300 billion and the cost of expelling every illegal alien – something even Trump privately admits is impossible – could be as much as $1 trillion.

The MoS understands Trump is considering deploying the military and National Guard to build 'tent cities' on unused federal land, including property belonging to schools and prisons."

Trump's quest to deport 20 million people from the U.S. could cost a trillion dollars while his billionaire buddy, Elon Musk (worth $250 billion), says he's going to cut $2 trillion from the federal budget.

Trump supporters ended up with both Trump and RFJ, Jr.

Trump has put RFK, Jr. (and Musk) in charge of cutting $2 trillion from the budget, which should make Trump supporters happy about being damaged by the cuts because Trump and RFK, Jr. did it to them.

Heaven forbid if Biden committed such an act onto them.

Single-party dominance in DC tended to not last more than two years in recent decades.

Single-party control in Washington is common at the beginning of a new presidency, but tends not to last long

    excerpt:

"During at least the last 16 congressional sessions, starting with the 101st Congress (1989-1990), single-party dominance in Washington hasn’t necessarily corresponded with high levels of legislative productivity, as measured by a Pew Research Center analysis of “substantive” legislation passed in each Congress. (Our analysis defines substantive legislation as legislation that changed written law, spent money or established policy, no matter how minor.)

In that more than three-decade span, four of the five most productive sessions occurred during periods of divided government. The three sessions with the highest legislative productivity rates – when between 80% and 89% of the bills passed were substantive – all occurred during divided government under the Clinton administration. During the 108th Congress (2003-2004), the most productive session under unified control, about three-quarters (74%) of legislation passed was substantive."
