Fain's remark about Trump supposedly being supportive of union workers. UAW president fires back after Trump calls him a ‘dope’ | The Hill excerpt: “It’s a perfect contrast between the two candidates,” Fain said. “I mean, you have, for the first time in history, a sitting U.S. president joining working-class people, joining the workers on the picket line, standing up with them. And you had Donald Trump, who claims he supports the workers, who calls one of his business owner buddies in a non-union factory, and he goes to this non-union factory and has a rally claiming that he’s there for the union workers and the striking workers.”
The rally Trump did supposedly in support for UAW workers was fake. Article from September 2023. Signs touting ‘auto workers for Trump’ at Michigan rally found to be fake – report excerpt: "When Donald Trump gave a speech in Michigan on Wednesday, seeking to capitalise on the United Auto Workers strike, at least two crowd members holding signs saying “union members for Trump” and “auto workers for Trump” turned out to be neither. The Detroit News reported: “One individual in the crowd who held a sign that said ‘union members for Trump’ acknowledged that she wasn’t a union member when approached by a reporter after the event. “Another person with a sign that read ‘auto workers for Trump’ said he wasn’t an auto worker when asked for an interview. Both people didn’t provide their names.”"
Trump rioter brought to justice. Semsel convicted of multiple felonies for rioting at Capitol. He is known for being one of the rioters who initiated the breach. Ryan Samsel, Jan. 6 defendant who instigated breach, convicted of multiple felonies excerpt: "The Jan. 6 defendant widely seen as the instigator of the violent breach of Capitol grounds was convicted Friday of multiple felonies for his role in the attack, including the assault of Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards, who was briefly knocked unconscious by the force of his charge."
The faces on some of Trump's rioters look like the goons in the movie Night Of The Living Dead. The horror wasn't fake. Four police officers who endured the riot committed suicide. Four of Trump's rioters committed suicide. Disturbing is the fact that the rioters are your coworkers, neighbors, your doctor or nurse, police officers, members of the military, the waitress serving you at your restaurant, your real estate agent, and even your pastor. By implanting a fake injustice using his stolen election lies, Trump can take people who are seemingly normal on the surface and turn them into raging thugs.

Trump's campaign finances have become money for his civil and criminal cases. If Trump’s Campaign Filings Are Any Proof, He’s Dead Meat excerpt: "Save America, Trump’s leadership PAC, spent more than $25 million on consulting and legal fees in the second half of the year alone—paying dues to more than 47 law firms and attorneys. That’s on top of some $21 million that the PAC spent on the former president’s mounting legal bill in the first half of the 2023. And the Make America Great Again PAC, which pulls most of its funding from Save America, put an additional $4 million toward Trump’s tab in the latter half of 2023, as well. That reportedly left just $5 million in the tank for his leadership PACs, according to Politico."
So, if he uses it for his personal defense, why aren't those funds taxable? It's not going into campaigning...it's the same as a gift and at very least should be subject to income tax.
Trump's campaign funding situation is peculiar and has a dog-chase-tail attribute in a cause-effect sense. About two years before he officially became a candidate for the 2024 election, he started a PAC just after the 2020 election (that he lost legitimately) to raise large amounts of money by using his lies that the election was stolen from him. Now that he is an official candidate for the 2024 election, he is spending some of that money on legal bills to pay to fight the criminal charges against him that stemmed from his lies about the election supposedly being stolen from him, which were used to raise the campaign money in the first place. Trump has used a portion of campaign money to promote his lies about the election being stolen from him as a way of fighting (in his mind) an election system that steals elections from him. The fact that he was using lies about the 2020 election to garner campaign money has been under the scope of the DOJ as possible fraud activity. It has the potential to lead to additional criminal charges against him (in addition to the 91 felony charges he currently faces). The DOJ subpoenaed Corcoran for information needed by the DOJ to investigate whether Trump may have used campaign money to assist a crime. The DOJ had to pierce attorney-client privilege between Corcoran and Trump by citing possible fraud activity. Trump's use of campaign money is also being examined by various public interest groups.
Vance is another example of someone who was once a Trump critic but is now completely loyal to him. Trump endorsed Vance who won a U.S. Senate seat in Ohio in 2022. JD Vance says he's wouldn't have certified 2020 race until states submitted pro-Trump electors excerpt: "In a contentious interview with ABC News "This Week" anchor George Stephanopoulos, Vance -- a onetime Trump critic -- also doubled down on his views of the 2020 election, saying the results shouldn't have been immediately certified, and he went on to suggest Trump should ignore "illegitimate" U.S. Supreme Court rulings."
Article from February 2021. How Trump, RNC raised hundreds of millions pushing baseless election fraud claims excerpt: "It was based entirely on fraud ... by Team Trump alleging that there were problems in the election, that Trump needed money to hire lawyers to fight and that he won the election," Ryan said. "And in my experience watchdogging money in politics closely for more than 20 years, this is unprecedented."
Can you even imagine the Republican outcry throughout the land if they came to believe that Biden (or any other Democrat) used funds donated for campaign purposes in a manner different for which they were originally intended? Good gosh, we'd be getting hourly bulletins on Fox News (film at 11)
Trump says he will impose a 60% import tariff on China if he's reelected. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/02/04/trump-floats-more-than-60percent-tariffs-on-chinese-imports.html excerpt: "The GOP frontrunner confirmed in an interview broadcast on Sunday that he is considering a plan to impose tariffs of 60% or higher on Chinese goods in his potential second term. "We have to do it," Trump said in an interview on Fox's "Sunday Morning Futures."
Trump says he's 100% certain a terror attack will occur in the U.S. and cites the Chinese. Trump Tells Fox News ‘I Believe We’re Going to Have a Terrorist Attack 100%,’ Possibly Due to Chinese Immigrants | Video excerpt: “I believe so, I believe so,” he replied. “And I believe we’re going to have a terrorist attack 100%, 100%. You know, during my term I had no terrorist attacks. You know that, right?”
Followup. Pena was arrested for orchestrating drive-by shootings of his election competitors after he lost an election in NM by 48% in 2022. Pena claimed to be the MAGA king. One of the shooters who was with Pena during a shooting incident was Trujillo who was arrested in January 2023. Trujillo has pleaded guilty to drive-by shootings Man Pleads Guilty to Shooting at Homes of Election Officials for ‘MAGA King’ excerpt: "Trujillo admitted to carrying out the Dec. 4 shooting at the home of Bernalillo County Commissioner Adriann Barboa, and the Dec. 8 shooting at the home of State House Speaker-elect Javier Martinez. Trujillo said that he and Peña had both gone to the home of state Senator Linda Lopez on Jan. 3, where Trujillo had fired eight shots, three of which went through the window of her 10-year-old daughter’s bedroom. No injuries were reported in any of the shootings."
Article from February 2023. Trump Spent $10 Million From His PAC on His Legal Bills Last Year excerpt: "Some campaign finance experts are raising questions about whether, as a candidate, Mr. Trump can continue to use the PAC to pay for his personal legal bills. Those questions are arising as he faces legal challenges on various fronts as well as intense scrutiny by the Justice Department and prosecutors in Georgia and New York. According to some campaign finance experts, having the PAC continue to pay his legal bills now that he is a candidate would be seen as a contribution to him, and therefore be subject to legal limits. “Payments by a PAC that exceed the contribution limit are contributions to the candidate and are unlawful,” said Jason Torchinsky, a campaign finance expert and lawyer with the firm Holtzman Vogel, referring to the limit on individual donations to candidates, which is set at $3,300 for the current two-year political cycle."
Article from February 2023. Trump Spent $10 Million From His PAC on His Legal Bills Last Year excerpt: "Adav Noti, of the Campaign Legal Center, a group that has called on the Federal Election Commission to more strictly enforce the rules on personal use of campaign donations, called what is permissible a “gray area.” The Federal Election Commission has yet to provide the guidance on the issue that campaign finance experts have sought. The vast majority of Mr. Trump’s PAC money was raised before he officially entered the 2024 presidential race on Nov. 15. At the end of last year, the PAC had just over $18 million in cash on hand, its federal filings show. The Justice Department has been subpoenaing documents from vendors paid by the PAC, including law firms, in an effort to determine what they were being paid for. A spokesman for Mr. Trump did not respond to an email asking if Mr. Trump would still use Save America for his personal legal bills. Mr. Trump’s PAC was formed in late 2020 after the November election, as Mr. Trump was raising massive sums of money by vowing to fight what he claimed was widespread election fraud."
Article from November 2023. Donald Trump exempt from campaign finance laws: FEC Commissioner excerpt: "Donald Trump has effectively been made exempt from campaign finance laws because the Federal Election Commission (FEC) refuses to investigate him, FEC Commissioner Ellen Weintraub has said. In a statement, Weintraub, an attorney and Democrat who works for the government agency, said on Thursday that there have been at least 58 instances where the body, which enforces campaign finance law in federal elections, has heard allegations against the Republican, accusing him or his family members of violating regulations. In at least 28 of those, staff at the Office of General Counsel determined that a criminal investigation was warranted, she said. But Weintraub added that her Republican colleagues put the former president in a "category by himself" by refusing to approve any of the recommendations against Trump. Newsweek contacted representatives for Trump and the GOP by email to comment on this story on Friday."
Article from September 2022. Trump’s Post-Election Fund-Raising Comes Under Scrutiny by Justice Dept. (Published 2022) excerpt: "A federal grand jury in Washington is examining the formation of — and spending by — a fund-raising operation created by Donald J. Trump after his loss in the 2020 election as he was soliciting millions of dollars by baselessly asserting that the results had been marred by widespread voting fraud. According to subpoenas issued by the grand jury, the contents of which were described to The New York Times, the Justice Department is interested in the inner workings of Save America PAC, Mr. Trump’s main fund-raising vehicle after the election. Several similar subpoenas were sent on Wednesday to junior and midlevel aides who worked in the White House and for Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign."
Article from February 2021. How Trump, RNC raised hundreds of millions pushing baseless election fraud claims excerpt: "Pro-Trump forces have amassed bulging post-election campaign accounts by exploiting baseless claims of widespread voter fraud to solicit money for former President Donald Trump's "Election Defense Fund" -- but despite the stated purpose, Trump's team has spent a relatively small amount actually fighting the election results. In fact, more than $100 million has instead gone toward various fundraising expenses and advertising efforts aimed at raising even more money, records show. In the three weeks after the November election, Trump's team and the Republican National Committee together raised $207 million by claiming election fraud and seeking support to fight the 2020 results, in which Democrat Joe Biden prevailed over Trump by more than 7 million votes. And even as Trump's election challenges faltered, an additional $80 million poured into their accounts, according to the latest campaign disclosure reports filed with the Federal Election Commission."
