Trump statement about taxes in May 2016

Trump says his tax rate is 'none of your business'

    excerpt:

"I think nobody knows more about taxes than I do, maybe in the history of the world. Nobody knows more about taxes."

And Trump supposedly is the only one who knows how to fix the tax system.

There’s Only One Way for Trump to Prove He’s As Good at Avoiding Taxes As He Says He Is

    excerpt:

"Trump’s campaign responded to the Times by noting that the candidate has a fiduciary duty to his companies and family to reduce his taxes and that “Mr. Trump knows the tax code far better than anyone who has ever run for President and he is the only one that knows how to fix it.”"

Trump tried to do a rally in Portage County, Ohio in April 2022, about a year after his riot at the Capitol. County officials denied him a permit.

Report: Trump denied permission for rally at Portage County fairgrounds

    excerpt:

"According to the story, Portage County Commissioner Tony Badalamenti said he spoke with Secretary of State Frank LaRose and members of Trump's advance team about holding an April 24 at the fairgrounds.

The callers said a representative of the fair board gave several reasons why the rally could not be held, according to the newspaper which reports that fair board members did not return phone calls."

Portage County contains the city of Kent where Kent State students were shot and killed by the National Guard in 1970.

Trump filed a similar suit against Hillary Clinton and others.

It was thrown out like his suit in the U.K.

Trump was ordered to pay $1 million after losing his frivolous RICO lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and others related to the Russia investigation.

Trump and lawyer ordered to pay $1m for bringing ‘frivolous’ lawsuit against Hillary Clinton

    excerpt:

"A federal judge has ordered Donald Trump and one of his attorneys to jointly pay nearly $1m in penalties for pursuing a frivolous lawsuit that accused Hillary Clinton, the Democratic National Committee and other perceived enemies of the former president of engaging in racketeering and concocting a vast conspiracy against him."

    https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/4443480-is-trump-trying-to-lose/

    excerpt:

"And then, sounding a little like Richard Nixon when the walls started closing in, he added, “I don’t get too angry. I get even.”

In Iowa, he had said, “We’re going to make this country so successful again, I’m not going to have time for retribution.” Really? Then what does “I get even” mean?

And why go after Nikki Haley if she did “very poorly, actually”? Why not ignore her and move on? Why needlessly alienate her voters? Trump explained his thinking. With a straight face, he said, “I felt I should do this because I find in life you can’t let people get away with bullshit. You can’t. You just can’t do that.”"

The news about Weisselberg may have caused Engoron to delay his ruling about how much Trump owes in the NY civil fraud case.

“Stunning”: Experts think Trump CFO perjury caused judge to “slam the brakes” on fraud trial ruling

    excerpt:

"“Why has Judge Engoron not issued his decision on the Trump civil fraud? One reason could well be the news that the Trump chief financial officer may be pleading to lying to Judge Engoron in a way to help Trump,” tweeted former Mueller prosecutor Andrew Weissmann. “And the Judge is waiting for that to support his decision against DJT. This [would] be another big nail in the Trump civil fraud coffin.”

CNN legal analyst Elie Honig, another former federal prosecutor, agreed that the deal may have given Engoron pause.

"If I'm in Judge Engoron's position here, and getting ready to issue a big verdict and ruling, and now I've heard this , and we've all heard it, that one of the key witnesses committed perjury in front of me — I slam on the brakes and say, 'I'm not going to rule until I know the specifics of this,'” he said Thursday."

Trump says he looks like Elvis.

Biden Says This Is the ‘Weirdest Campaign Ever’ as Trump Suggests He’s an Elvis Lookalike

    excerpt:

“For so many years people have been saying that Elvis and I look alike,” Trump wrote, adding a photo that included his face spliced with the late rocker’s. “What do you think?”

Trump is no stranger to humbly likening himself to cultural icons; he’s also compared himself to George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Nelson Mandela as far as his political career is concerned. Aesthetically, he’s also compared himself to the priceless Mona Lisa painting because it inspires such devotion.

By that token, it's unfair to women to say that somehow their lives are being worse by electing Trump when he's trying to promote prosperity.

Trump has proudly proclaimed responsibility for overturning Roe. v. Wade via his three Supreme Court nominations.

Poll: 20-point deficit on handling economy highlights Biden’s struggles against Trump

    excerpt:

"Biden trails GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump on major policy and personal comparisons, including by more than 20 points on which candidate would better handle the economy. And Biden’s deficit versus Trump on handling immigration and the border is greater than 30 points.

The poll also shows Trump holding a 16-point advantage over Biden on being competent and effective, a reversal from 2020, when Biden was ahead of Trump on this quality by 9 points before defeating him in that election.

And Biden’s approval rating has declined to the lowest level of his presidency in NBC News polling — to 37% — while fewer than 3 in 10 voters approve of his handling of the Israel-Hamas war.

All together, these numbers explain why the poll shows Trump leading Biden by 5 points among registered voters in a hypothetical 2024 general-election matchup, 47% to 42%. While the result is within the poll’s margin of error, the last year of polling shows a clear shift."

Compared to the entire history of U.S. presidential elections, it seems odd that 81 year old Biden's hope for being reelected currently seems to be hinging on whether 77 year old Trump, convicted of civil rape, will be convicted of any of the 91 felony charges against him before the 2024 election and also whether Trump will be taken off ballots for his incitement of an insurrection at the seat of the federal government and his three hours of inaction that allowed it to ensue.

The best fiction writers couldn't have concocted such a scenario.

The Simpsons episode in March 2000 that alluded to Trump as president doesn't come close.

Trump is still whining about electric vehicles.

Signs touting ‘auto workers for Trump’ at Michigan rally found to be fake – report

    excerpt:

"Railing against the shift to electric vehicles, he added: “You can be loyal to American labour or you can be loyal to the environmental lunatics. But you can’t really be loyal to both. It’s one or the other.”

A spokesperson for Joe Biden, Kevin Munoz, called Trump’s speech “incoherent”, “pathetic” and “recycled”."
