Trump's Iowa speech was 113 minutes long on the anniversary of the attack on the Capitol.

Trump made one superficial remark about it. He said that he thought no one expected it to happen, seemingly using that claim as an excuse for his inaction and making it sound like his being impeached for it was unjustified.

Trump had about three hours to stop the assault that clearly he knew was happening. He chose to do nothing significant to stop it during that time.

He said recently during an interview that he will finally say what he did during those hours at an appropriate time.

Biden needs to hit Trump relentlessly on that point throughout the 2024 campaign.

Bush's response was that he was an important enough person to be at all of Reagan's important meetings (supposedly endowing him with great credentials to run for president) but that he unwittingly happened to step out of the room temporarily (such as for a drink of water or to answer the phone) whenever scandalous activity was being discussed, rendering him innocent.

The 2024 election is expected to once again hinge on a few critical swing states, particularly WI, MI, PA, AZ, and NV.
