Wonder if Trump's enjoying all the fights he has started.

He was always known for picking fights, but his current situation is beyond anything that happened during the past.

It's questionable how much more he can up the ante.

The Supreme Court gave Trump only about a week to respond to Jack Smith's request.

It indicates that it wants to decide promptly on whether it will take the case instead of letting it works its way through the DC Appeal Court first ()what Trump wants).

Scott Perry's involvement with Trump in trying to overturn the 2020 election was revealed when a court accidentally released texts of Perry to the public. He was in contact with Jeffrey Clark who has seen been indicted in GA.

    https://local21news.com/news/local/...ct-of-columbia-appeals-court-november-30-2023

    excerpt:

"HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — An online court error has led to hundreds of texts sent by Central PA Congressman Scott Perry to be released, and they have shed more light on what he did in the days following the 2020 presidential election and his alleged role in trying to overturn the results.

The texts came from his cell phone that was seized by the FBI in August of 2022.

The Washington Post made the texts public on Wednesday after a District of Columbia Appeals court accidentally posted a lower court ruling on how much access prosecutors should have to his phone records."

Jeffrey Clark was complaining about supposedly not being able to find a flight from DC to Atlanta in time for his arrest and booking. The judge gave over a week for Trump and his associates to turn themselves in for arrest.

Clark was demanding that a restraining order be placed on the court to delay his arrest so that he wouldn't be faced with the mental anguish of having to go to Atlanta and, if not making it on time, being plagued with the fact that he would become a fugitive.

Experts Mock Jeffrey Clark's Demands To Georgia Judge About His Arrest

    excerpt:

"Clark demanded a response by 5 p.m. Tuesday, a request that is more common for a Justice Department attorney to make than a man accused of attempting to subvert the peaceful transfer of power.

And he’s whining about making “rushed travel arrangements” even though he’s known about the reporting date since Aug. 14, when District Attorney Fani Willis announced the indictment."

It's disturbing that so much activity was taking place undercover across the country by Trump and his associates to overturn the election in a two-month span. It involved Trump and his people at the White House, Trump's attorneys, members of Congress, state legislators, the My Pillow guy, the convicted and Trump-pardoned has-been Flynn, and even a former publicist for Kanye West who has been charged with tampering with a witness, Atlanta election worker Ruby Freeman, who Trump made a punching bag and who recently won a $148 million defamation suit against Giuliani.

What makes so many people revere such preening authoritarian figures like Hitler, Mussolini and trump? What was it in the 30s that convinced millions in Germany and Italy to willfully follow those leaders that eventually led to the holocaust and the ruination of their countries and the destruction and combat deaths of so many? What in the world is it about trump ---a lying, crooked, narcissistic, political aberration that has brought out the worst in so many millions? A "man " that promises daily to further disregard the rule of law--to seek retribution on any and all who oppose him? Is it weakness of character in so many? Is it pure stupidity? Is it that so many have been left behind in this capitalist economic system and somehow believe he cares about them? I'm not naive to the flaws in our system, but shouldn't ALL of us be working to make the systems--economic, judicial and legislative better in this experiment of --by the people, for the people and of the people ,instead of fealty to those that are presently trying to tear us apart? I just don't get how so many can --seemingly all of a sudden--including elected representatives on the right--can see a decent future with the likes of trump as a leader.:tonguewink:

The wife of Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas was infatuated by Trump's stolen election mantra and was emailing people like the now-indicted Mark Meadows to overthrow the election.

Thomas will likely be participating in upcoming cases that will involve election law that will determine the fate of Trump in 2024.

Thomas recused himself of a case that involved Eastman. Thomas' wife had emailed Eastman encouraging him to overturn the 2020 election.

That's the type of loyalty Trump wants.

If he's reelected, he will stack his administration with such people.

‘The Opposite of Politics’: A Conservative Legal Scholar Says Kicking Trump Off the Ballot Is ‘Unassailable’

    excerpt:

"Do you worry at all about the political blowback that a judicial decision removing Trump from ballots could spark?

I do, but what I would say, though, is this: The Constitution itself tells us that disqualification of the former president is not anti-democratic. Rather, the Constitution tells us that it is the conduct that can give rise to disqualification under the 14th Amendment that is anti-democratic.

I would add that we are a nation of laws, not of men, and it is the Constitution of the United States that is providing the avenue for the disqualification of the former president. This is not politics. This is the opposite of politics. This is constitutional law. And right now, the courts — the state courts and eventually the Supreme Court — will be interpreting the Constitution of the United States without regard to politics, let alone partisan politics."
