People like Susan Collins thought Trump would learn his lesson after his first impeachment.

Meadows seemed disinterested in the riot at the Capitol as it was unfolding.

FINAL REPORT of the Select Commitee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol

    excerpt:

"Rioters broke into the west side of the Capitol building around 2:13 p.m.160 Just a few minutes later, Hutchinson saw Cipollone “barreling down the hallway” and—after looking at Hutchinson and shaking his head—opened the door to Meadows’s office unannounced.161 Meadows was right where she left him, “still sitting on his phone.” 162

“The rioters have gotten to the Capitol, Mark. We need to go down and see the President now,” she heard Cipollone say.163 Cipollone would not confirm or deny any of this exchange, citing executive privilege.164

“He doesn’t want to do anything, Pat,” Meadows said, peering up from his phone.165

“Mark something needs to be done, or people are going to die and the blood’s gonna be on your [fucking] hands,” Cipollone said. “This is getting out of control. I’m going down there.” 166

Meadows finally stood up from the couch and walked with Cipollone toward the dining room to meet with the President.167"

Meadows managed to slither out of a federal indictment. He accepted an immunity deal.

Meadows is still one of Trump's 18 co-defendants in the GA election subversion case.

Gasoline prices are currently under $3.00 per gallon in various places in U.S.

Trump will probably still say they are $6 based on an outdated and cherry-picked figure from a location in California, like he has before

The Trump-endorsed Dr. Oz will probably still be complaining about the price of elite foods such as caviar, like he did during his run for a U.S. Senate seat in 2022 that he lost.

People should remember that trump said--"remove the magnetometers" ( used to detect guns) when told that there were people with guns in the crowd on Jan 6th. What in the hell would have happened had rioters with guns successfully entered the building?? We'll never know, but--------we can imagine!! AS those who are saying---if he's elected-----he will quit NATO , the World Bank and ALL other agreements with all other nations that have shaped the world since world war two. The world order (such as it has been) will be irrevocably changed and not for the better!!! I can't imagine why so many would desire a narcissistic psychopath to be in charge of this country.:mad:

Trump cites an unnamed general who supposedly told Trump that his locker room explanation for his remark about grabbing women by the crotch was the bravest thing he's seen other than troops dying on the battlefield.

Wisconsin Republican leader stands by fake Trump elector, will keep him on elections commission

    excerpt:

"Trump on Saturday described how all of his political advisers, except Steve Bannon, encouraged him to drop out of the 2016 race after the video surfaced. Trump claimed that an unnamed general told him the "locker room talk" explanation he gave was the "bravest thing I've ever seen" over witnessing people die on the battlefield."

A Trump supporter in 2016 had pipe bombs. He was complaining about the 2016 election supposedly being rigged to steal it from Trump.

He was sentenced to more than five years in prison.

It predates by about 5 years the pipe bombs found at the Capitol just before the riot started, spawned by Trump's rhetoric that the 2020 election was supposedly stolen from Trump.

'No Blame?' ABC News finds 54 cases invoking 'Trump' in connection with violence, threats, alleged assaults.

    excerpt:

"...the avowed Trump supporter posted this threatening message to Facebook a month earlier: "The establishment is trying to steal the election from Trump. ... Obama is already on a kill list ... Your [name] can be there too." Roos, who is white, has since pleaded guilty to possessing an unregistered explosive device and posting internet threats against federal officials. He was sentenced to more than five years in prison."

Four months later, Trump still hasn't produced his mound of irrefutable evidence that supposedly exonerates him.

Trump teases "irrefutable" new evidence that will prove his innocence

    excerpt:

"A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete & will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. on Monday of next week in Bedminster, New Jersey," Trump wrote on his social media platform.

Another case involving bombs related to Trump's rhetoric.

'No Blame?' ABC News finds 54 cases invoking 'Trump' in connection with violence, threats, alleged assaults.

    excerpt:

"Late October 2018: Over the course of a week, Florida man Cesar Sayoc allegedly mailed at least 15 potential bombs to prominent critics of Trump and members of the media. Sayoc had been living in a van plastered with pro-Trump stickers, and he had posted several pro-Trump messages on social media. Federal prosecutors have accused him of "domestic terrorism," and Sayoc has since pleaded guilty to 65 counts, including use of a weapon of mass destruction. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. "We believe the president's rhetoric contributed to Mr. Sayoc's behavior," Sayoc's attorney told the judge at sentencing."

Jack Smith goes to U.S. Supreme Court to decide Trump's immunity claim.

Special counsel goes directly to Supreme Court to resolve whether Trump has immunity from prosecution | CNN Politics

    excerpt:

"A federal judge ruled the case could go forward, but Trump said he would ask the federal appeals court in Washington to reverse that outcome. Smith is attempting to bypass the appeals court – the usual next step in the process – and have the Supreme Court take up the matter directly.

"This case presents a fundamental question at the heart of our democracy: whether a former President is absolutely immune from federal prosecution for crimes committed while in office or is constitutionally protected from federal prosecution when he has been impeached but not convicted before the criminal proceedings begin," prosecutors wrote."

GOP WI senate majority leader says he will keep fake elector Spindell on the state election commission.

Wisconsin Republican leader stands by fake Trump elector, will keep him on elections commission

    excerpt:

"MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The majority leader of the Wisconsin Senate on Monday rejected Democrats’ calls to rescind his appointment to the state elections commission, who was one of the Republicans who served as fake electors for former President Donald Trump in 2020.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu said in a statement that his appointee Bob Spindell and the other fake electors had invoked a “failed legal strategy” and “not a sinister plot to overturn an election.” For that reason, LeMahieu said he will not rescind his appointment of Spindell to the nonpartisan elections commission."
