The Donald Trump Score Card

Trump's mistake was to bring his uncontrolled narcissism into the government where everything is under the microscope and subject to impeachment or criminal prosecution. The current myriad of criminal charges against him are a manifestation of it.

The power of the presidency feeds the narcissism to the extent that Trump couldn't admit he lost the 2020 election, tried to overturn a legitimate election, and decided to run again in 2024.

In his private life, Trump was able to funnel hush money to porn stars or have David Pecker use the deceptive catch-and-kill tactic to bury undesirable stories. Now he has criminal charges against him by Alvin Bragg related to the Daniels saga.

Even in the midst of the current 78 criminal charges against him and more expected, he's starting name-calling fights with the prosecutors and judges and making outlandish requests, such as asking to Judge Cannon to establish Mar-a-Lago as a secure location for him to review with his attorneys the government documents that he is charged with stealing and keeping illegally at Mar-a-Lago where he reportedly showed them to unauthorized people. He's posted veiled threats about coming after people who he says are after him, adjacent to a post where he complained about Jack Smith.

There seems to be no limit to his pathology, similar to someone with a gambling addiction who keeps upping the ante and losing more money or a serial bank robber who continues with increasingly brazen heists.

 

Trump has stated that he is now in favor of federal restrictions on abortion, which places the GOP in a further bind.

Some of Trump's supporters are so detached from reality that they still might not believe that Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Trump Supreme Court. When in need, they will have to actually visit a clinic (what remains of them) to acknowledge reality, and even then they might not believe it.

 

Ohio Supreme Court votes unanimously to allow an abortion rights amendment on November 2023 ballot.

It's one of a string of losses this year for Trump and the GOP on the abortion rights issue and an omen of problems to come for them in elections.
