If he's convicted, it will be in court for the next ten years, of course he will skate on the rape, but he might get tagged with the defamation. I say put him on the stand and make him perjure himself. I'd mortify him as they are crucifying her. "Mr. Trump, the defendant says you have a small oddly shaped mushroom type penis that she can quite well describe, can you refute that by displaying your penis for the jury? Can you explain how the defendant, without any personal knowledge of your penis, came to know of your personal anatomy???"

Trump's current rape trial is for a civil case. In contrast to a criminal trial, he doesn't have to attend the trial.

Trump's been wishy-washy about attending his rape trial. He acts like he wants to testify but is off in Europe at his golf course with its workers wearing red MAGA hats and forming a line on either side as he enters, like a coronation (similar to his post-arrest gathering at Mar-a-Lago). He's been talking like he will try to travel to NY just in time to defend himself.

The judge gave Trump's team until Sunday night to formally declare if he will attend the rest of the trial. He had previously formally waived his right to be present.
