Trump's chances seem slim for both of those potential appeals.

He could still pursue them as a last-gasp stall tactic.

Trump special master overturned by appeals court in Mar-a-Lago documents case

A panel of judges on the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Thursday to overturn the appointment of a special master tasked with reviewing thousands of documents seized by the FBI from former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate this summer.

The ruling by the three-judge panel, including two Trump appointees, goes into effect in seven days, absent intervention by the full circuit court or the Supreme Court.

"The law is clear," the judges found. "We cannot write a rule that allows any subject of a search warrant to block government investigations after the execution of the warrant. Nor can we write a rule that allows only former presidents to do so."

The order effectively eliminates what federal authorities had described as a major obstacle in their ongoing criminal investigation into whether Trump illegally retained highly classified records after leaving the presidency and obstructed efforts by the government to recover them. He denies wrongdoing.

    Goodbye Aileen

Three Conservative Judges Just Ended Aileen Cannon’s Outrageous Interference With the Mar-a-Lago Case

Judge Aileen Cannon’s intrusive and unjustifiable reign over the Justice Department’s criminal investigation into Donald Trump is over.

On Thursday, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Cannon had no jurisdiction to hear Trump’s complaint in the first place. Its decision means that Cannon’s orders are void, and everything she had done—including the appointment and oversight of a special master—must be undone. The special master must be dismissed, and Cannon must relinquish all control over this dispute. Any other outcome, the court explained, would constitute “a radical reordering of our caselaw” that violates “bedrock separation-of-powers limitations.” It is a complete victory for the Justice Department and a vindication of the principle that judges may not rewrite the law to run interference for the president who appointed them.

Trump already lost at the Supreme Court in October when trying to argue a particular issue about the special master.

He could try again but likely won't get a favorable response to try to save the entire special master case that was essentially thrown out by the 11th Circuit on Dec. 1.

Even Judges have to go through Judicial Performance Evaluations, is she so all in on MAGA that she’s willing to sacrifice her career for Trump?

Last Arizona County certifies election results

Officials in Cochise County, Arizona, on Thursday certified the results of the county's 2022 midterm elections during an emergency meeting, after a superior court judge ordered the board of supervisors to meet and certify the results immediately.

The board of supervisors voted 2-0 to accept the results of the election, despite initially delaying the certification earlier this week and missing Monday's deadline. Ann English, a Democrat, and Peggy Judd, a Republican, voted in favor of certification but the board's third member, Republican Tom Crosby did not attend the meeting.

The court order came days after Republicans on the board voted Monday to not certify the results in a move that risked the exclusion of more than 47,000 Arizona voters from the state's final tally. That prompted lawsuits from the secretary of state's office and an advocacy group.

Democratic Governor-elect Katie Hobbs, in her capacity as Secretary of State, sued the county to certify the vote so her office can complete the statewide canvass by Dec. 8, the last possible day allowed under state law.
