Peters has been part of Lindell's quest to try to prove that the software in voting machines is rigged to steal the election from Trump and the GOP. She abandoned her job as county clerk of Mesa temporarily to attend Lindell's crackpot cyber security symposium.
Trying to prevent people like Peters from engaging in criminal acts on behalf of Trump has become an issue. Trump has been trying to infiltrate election-related government positions with people like Peters. Peters is an elected official. She can't simply be fired from her job when she goes corrupt. Requests to the courts have to be made to stop her from being the clerk during elections while she is still in her term. Such difficult situations may become widespread after the 2022 elections if Trump is successful in having such people infiltrate positions, such as people like Capitol riot participant Mastriano who was endorsed by Trump and won the GOP primary in PA for governor. The governor usually signs the certification of the elections that are signed by the Secretary of State (a position Peters has been trying to win in CO).
Trump is asking an appeals court to give him absolute immunity from civil lawsuits linked to the January 6 Capitol riot
The desperation of Trump. He contends his impeachment makes him immune from civil suits. Trump is asking an appeals court to give him absolute immunity from civil lawsuits linked to the January 6 Capitol riot
Trump is claiming immunity for making statements supposedly about public concern when he incited a riot to overthrow a fair election when he was at the Ellipse acting outside the scope of his presidential activities. Similar to Trump, Mo Brooks wanted the DOJ to defend him against civil suits brought against him for his remarks that helped spur a riot against Congress that he said at the Ellipse while he was supposedly acting in his capacity as a member of Congress (which he wasn't). Brooks lost his case.
Deshowitz made a similar statement when he implied that Trump should be immune from impeachment for his withholding of U.S. government money to Ukraine to help him be reelected because his reelection was in the public interest. Trump lawyer Dershowitz argues president can't be impeached for an act he thinks will help his reelection William Cummings | USA TODAY Alan Dershowitz argues act not impeachable if done to help get elected
Off topic, but related to the conservative movement. Maybe this guy should put more effort in going to the dentist.
Trump is still pestering Vos to overturn the Wisconsin 2020 election. Judge: Wisconsin probe found 'absolutely no' election fraud
The same can be said for Tina Peters and her two associates in CO. All three have been arrested. People like Peters and Gableman are the ones engaging in election misbehavior with schemes to infiltrate election machines unauthorized and acting in contempt by not keeping proper records of fruitless investigations of elections that were fair.
