Perhaps the most outlandish scenario: Armed pro-Trump groups escorting Trump into the House chamber where he would make his case about overturning the election while members of Congress were hiding in the basement and Pence was at the loading dock. Mary Trump: My uncle knew J6 rioters would 'escort' him because he's too much of a 'physical coward' to go into a riot excerpt: "Joy, I've been thinking about that a lot, because it doesn't make sense if Donald thought for a second he was going to be in harm's way — quite honestly, when I first heard months ago he was going to go to the Capitol, I didn't think it was true because he's such a physical coward," she said. The testimony from figures like Hutchinson on what Trump knew about the riot, said Mary Trump, made everything click. "But then we hear he knows the people are armed, we know the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers were on board from the very beginning," she said. "I'm beginning to — he knew they were going to be there to escort him into the building where he would make his play on the floor of Congress. Again, it's speculation. I can't think of any other scenario in which he would put himself in such a position. He needed to feel 100 percent confident that he was going to be just fine."
'Trump girl' pleads guilty. WV Air National Guard member pleads guilty in Jan. 6 case | wusa9.com excerpt: WASHINGTON — A member of the West Virginia Air National Guard pleaded guilty Wednesday to one misdemeanor count for entering the U.S. Capitol Building as part of a pro-Trump mob on Jan. 6, 2021. Jamie L. Ferguson appeared before U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta to plead guilty to parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. The charge is a Class “B” misdemeanor that has earned other Capitol riot defendants sentences ranging from probation and a fine to months in jail. "Ferguson, a noncommissioned officer in the West Virginia Air National Guard who reached the rank of technical sergeant (E-6), was identified to the FBI a week after the riot following an investigation by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI). Investigators were able to identify Ferguson from social media posts and surveillance images of her inside the Capitol wearing a “Yes, I’m a Trump Girl” shirt. FBI agents eventually conducted an interview with Ferguson at her home, during which she provided them photos and video from the riot and said she’d entered the Capitol and stayed in the Rotunda for approximately 40 minutes. Ferguson was charged with four misdemeanor counts – three of which will be dropped as a condition of her plea agreement. She’s scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 18 at 3 p.m."
Riddle stole a book from the Capitol and sold it on Ebay. Capitol rioter who stole book, sold it on eBay pleads guilty | wusa9.com excerpt: "WASHINGTON — A New Hampshire man who told a reporter he entered the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6 because he “just had to see it” pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to two misdemeanor counts. Jason Riddle, of Bedford, New Hampshire, appeared before U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich to enter his plea of guilty to theft of government property and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. According to charging documents, multiple witnesses alerted the FBI after Riddle sat for an interview with the NBC-affiliate in Boston. During the interview, Riddle – who said he was a military veteran – said he made it into a lawmaker’s office, where he “poured a glass of wine and watched it all unfold.”"
Lindsey Graham gets blasted by a legal expert for fighting subpoena in Georgia Trump investigation excerpt: "When Lindsey Graham talks, as usual, out of both sides of his mouth, he makes no sense," continued Katyal. "He says this is all politics. Well, if it is all politics and you know so much about the situation, Senator Graham, and you're so confident there's nothing of substance, then I'm sure you're eager to go and testify before the grand jury and comply with the subpoena, but of course he's not. He wants to try to block the subpoena. He's claiming it's some sort of separation of powers problem, which I guess is convincing if Lindsey Graham is trying to prove he has no business being on the Senate Judiciary Committee." "This is Louie Gohmert misunderstanding of the separation of powers," added Katyal. "I don't think his attempt to block the subpoena will go anywhere and leave a lot of investigative paths open for from what Graham says and the other six individuals who have been subpoenaed by this district attorney."
Comey and McCabe, Who Infuriated Trump, Both Faced Intensive I.R.S. Audits excerpt: "Among tax lawyers, the most invasive type of random audit carried out by the I.R.S. is known, only partly jokingly, as “an autopsy without the benefit of death.” The odds of being selected for that audit in any given year are tiny — out of nearly 153 million individual returns filed for 2017, for example, the I.R.S. targeted about 5,000, or roughly one out of 30,600. One of the few who received a bureaucratic letter with the news that his 2017 return would be under intensive scrutiny was James B. Comey, who had been fired as F.B.I. director that year by President Donald J. Trump. Furious over what he saw as Mr. Comey’s lack of loyalty and his pursuit of the Russia investigation, Mr. Trump had continued to rail against him even after his dismissal, accusing him of treason, calling for his prosecution and publicly complaining about the money Mr. Comey received for a book after his dismissal. Mr. Comey was informed of the audit in 2019. Two years later, the I.R.S., still under the leadership of a Trump appointee after President Biden took office, picked about 8,000 returns for the same type of audit Mr. Comey had undergone from the 154 million individual returns filed in 2019, or about one in 19,250. Among those who were chosen to have their 2019 returns scrutinized was the man who had been Mr. Comey’s deputy at the bureau: Andrew G. McCabe, who served several months as acting F.B.I. director after Mr. Comey’s firing."
More subpoenas of Trump allies expected in Georgia, county DA says excerpt: "More associates of former President Trump could be subpoenaed in Georgia by a special grand jury investigating 2020 election interference claims, the Fulton County district attorney told NBC News on Wednesday. The big picture: The special grand jury probing possible interference in Georgia's 2020 election issued subpoenas on Tuesday for key Trump allies, including lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). Driving the news: Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis also told NBC that she has not ruled out the possibility of subpoenaing Trump himself. "We'll just have to see where the investigation leads us," Willis said of the possibility of more subpoenas. She added: "I think that people thought that we came into this as some kind of game. This is not a game, at all. What I am doing is very serious. It's very important work. And we're going to do our due diligence in making sure that we look at all aspects of the case.""
Trump Property Appraiser Held in Contempt For Missing Deadline in NY Civil Probe – NBC New York excerpt: "A company that has performed appraisals on some of Donald Trump’s most prized properties has been held in contempt of court for missing a deadline to turn over documents in the New York attorney general’s civil investigation into the former president’s business practices. Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron said late Tuesday that real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield had shown a “willful failure” to comply with Attorney General Letitia James’ subpoenas, which sought records on Trump properties including a suburban Seven Springs Estate, Wall Street office building, Chicago skyscraper and Los Angeles golf course. Engoron ordered Cushman & Wakefield to pay a fine of $10,000 per day, beginning Thursday, for each day that it fails to fully comply with James’ subpoenas. The same judge recently lifted a contempt order for Trump after a two-month legal fight over his slow response to a subpoena for documents in James’ probe."

In the past week, news outlets have published articles about various military members who pleaded guilty or who have been recently charged in the Capitol riot: 'Trump girl' Ferguson of the WV Air National Guard, Riddle, who says he's a military veteran, and Hatchet Speed of the Navy.
There was a time when members of the National Guard protected citizens from rioters. Now some are the rioters attacking citizens.
Might be good news for the Dems. The Republican party is becoming even more radical and if lots of Trumpers get past the primaries it may bring out more Dems, Independents, and Republicans with half a brain to vote against them in the main elections.
Article from 2016. 'Gerrymandering On Steroids': How Republicans Stacked The Nation's Statehouses10:37 WBUR July 19, 2016 'Gerrymandering On Steroids': How Republicans Stacked The Nation's Statehouses excerpt: "It was never a secret. In 2010, the conservative political strategist Karl Rove took to the Wall Street Journal and laid out a plan to win majorities in state legislatures across the country. "He who controls redistricting can control Congress," read the subhead to Rove's column. WBUR is a nonprofit news organization. Our coverage relies on your financial support. If you value articles like the one you're reading right now, give today. The plan, which its architects dubbed REDMAP for Redistricting Majority Project, hinged on the fact that states redraw their electoral maps every 10 years according to new Census data. REDMAP targeted states where just a few statehouse seats could shift the balance to Republican control in the crucial Census year of 2010. That plan worked spectacularly. It's why today Republicans have a majority in nearly two-thirds of the country's state legislative chambers. And it's why in 2012 Democratic statehouse candidates won 51 percent of the vote in Pennsylvania, which voted for Barack Obama in the presidential election, yet those candidates ended up with only 28 percent of the seats in the legislature."
Webster now wants a judge to override a jury conviction. Goshen man convicted of attacking cop on Jan. 6 asks judge to override jury on four counts excerpt: "A Goshen man awaiting sentencing for assaulting a cop outside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 is asking a judge to throw out four charges of which a jury convicted him, arguing the metal flagpole he brandished can't be considered a dangerous weapon. A federal jury found Thomas Webster guilty on all six charges against him May 2, deliberating for less than three hours after a trial that lasted three days and included testimony from both Webster and the cop he tackled after charging past police barriers. Webster, a 56-year-old retired New York City police officer and former Marine, is set to be sentenced by District Court Judge Amit Mehta in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 2."
Webster attacked police officers at Trump's riot. He was convicted on all four charges. He grabbed the face of a police officer but said he was showing him his hands to show that he didn't have a weapon and to calm the officer. Webster is a former marine and a former NYC police officer.
Wow, “a flagpole shouldn’t be considered a dangerous weapon???” That’s insane!!! Pole! Not a stick, not a bat, but a POLE!
I like how all these idiots think they can come into court and call the shots. Determine their own fate.
