New Insights Into Trump’s State of Mind on Jan. 6 Chip Away at Doubts

    excerpt:

"In his social media posts, Mr. Trump denied asking that armed supporters be allowed at his rally. “Who would ever want that?” he wrote. “Not me!” He focused more of his energy on castigating Ms. Hutchinson in scathing personal terms (“whacko,” “total phony”) and concentrated on one small aspect of her testimony, namely whether he lunged for the wheel of his presidential vehicle when his Secret Service detail refused to take him to the Capitol on Jan. 6."

Anthony Atamanuik should do another version of that sketch.

Instead of Trump talking the wheel of the truck and driving into a river, he wrestles the wheel away from the Secret Service and crashes it into the Capitol building.

D.C. bar files ethics charges against Rudy Giuliani

    excerpt:

"The D.C. bar on Friday brought ethics charges against Rudy Giuliani, the former president’s most prominent attorney, for pushing false vote-fraud claims about the 2020 election.

The case, which comes from the disciplinary branch of the D.C. bar, focuses on Giuliani’s efforts to push unsubstantiated fraud accusations for Donald Trump in a Pennsylvania court. The new filing accused Giuliani of violating the state’s Rules of Professional Conduct. The charge was filed with the D.C. Court of Appeals.

Giuliani “brought a proceeding and asserted issues therein without a non-frivolous basis in law and fact for doing so,” the filing said, in which he “engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.”"

Giuliani should also be charged with not knowing how to dial a phone and use hair color properly.

Harris County Warns About Republican Voter Intimidation Scheme | NewsOne

    excerpt:

"Four years after a decades-old consent decree preventing the Republican National Committee from engaging in a series of activities involving so-called “ballot security,” Republican operatives continue finding new ways to intimidate and scare Black voters. According to the Houston Chronicle, a Republican group was going door to door in a predominantly Black neighborhood questioning voters about their legitimacy.

Harris County Elections tweeted a Scam Alert warning to residents of the historically Black Sunnyside neighborhood to beware of “impostors” going door to door questioning people about “private voter information.” A second tweet contained a picture of a generic looking declaration form, that had been handed to voters.

The form shared asks individuals to swear that they are registered voters of Harris County. It also asks about whether specific people reside at the address.

Targeting a historic Black community is clearly about intimidation and has nothing to do with alleged “election integrity.” The local League of Women Voters also encouraged those with questions to call to verify the information they are receiving.

Harris County Elections explained in a statement that it does not ask for the type of information being requested by the “scammers.” “These people and the paperwork they are using are not authorized by the Harris County Elections Office.”"

Teasing new witnesses following Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony before the Jan. 6 committee, Rep. Adam Kinzinger says of Trump and his allies: 'They're all scared. They should be.'

    excerpt:

"In a series of Sunday tweets, Rep. Adam Kinzinger said Donald Trump and his allies, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, are "scared" following last week's testimony by Cassidy Hutchinson before the Jan. 6 select committee.

"This BIPARTISAN committee has been able to find out things that up until recently were denied by the Jan 6th truthers, so they are left with trying to discredit a young woman with more courage than they could muster in a lifetime. Except… that isn't working," Kinzinger tweeted.

"Cassidy doesn't seek the limelight, but she is compelled with honor. She didn't even have to swear an oath to the constitution like Kevin, Elise, Kristi Noem and others did. But she volunteered to come under oath to tell what she knows. She is a better person than them all. ""

Cipollone knew the risk to himself and others in the administration of facing criminal charges if they kept giving Trump what he wanted after the 2020 election.

Cipollone Privilege Bid Would ‘Run Out’ Clock on Jan. 6 Panel

    excerpt:

"A move by former White House counsel Pat Cipollone to assert privilege would slow the Jan. 6 committee’s push for revelations from the Donald Trump ally who was at the center of events tied to the US Capitol riot.

Attorney-client or executive privilege claims would likely fail to pass muster, though that wouldn’t stop Cipollone from using the tactic in response to the US House committee’s June 29 subpoena, said Stephen Gillers, a New York University law professor.

“He could show up and assert attorney-client privilege or executive privilege and there’s nothing the committee can do,” Gillers said, beyond asking the Justice Department to enforce the subpoena. “We’ve seen this show before, where the Trump administration uses the delay in the courts to frustrate the ability to get information.”

The House committee subpoenaed Cipollone to appear for a closed-door deposition after former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson cited him repeatedly in testimony June 28. She said Cipollone urged her to make sure Trump wouldn’t go to the Capitol on Jan. 6 with his supporters, warning that they would be “charged with every crime imaginable.”"

Has South Africa’s Donald Trump Arrived?

    excerpt:

"JOHANNESBURG—In heavy army boots, fatigues, and his trademark bulletproof vest, Nhlanhla “Lux” Mohlauli danced the toyi-toyi down the streets of Johannesburg on May 27. Supporters in military garb followed him in doing the iconic South African protest dance, some with their faces hidden by balaclavas, others armed with handcuffs, all shouting anti-immigrant slogans and carrying “South Africa First” banners. South Africa’s answer to America’s Proud Boys were on the move.

Lux, the charismatic millennial behind Operation Dudula, a new South African movement terrorizing migrants from neighboring countries and stoking xenophobia, had just appeared in court for ransacking a house where he believed drugs were being sold, and he had begun leading a defiant march back to his home turf of Soweto.

I assumed that the Operation Dudula leader, having exited the court—the case was once again delayed—in a suit and tie but having quickly changed into camo in the back of a car, couldn’t have been carrying his pistol, which he usually has on him, even during interviews in his own home."

    Anthony Atamanuik sketch from 2017.

Trump throws a tantrum when he doesn't get his way with young school kids.

Pence has to take over at the end.

If he gets in again in '24, one of the first things he'd do is mount a movement to establish himself as 'President For Life.'

He would do this knowing that tens of millions of his supporters would joyfully try to make it so. After all, these folks don't look at the issues involved with destroying democracy and the American way of life. All they know is that they want Trump to be POTUS again.

    "I would have won!"

Clip from Star Trek episode 'The Squire of Gothos'.

Trelane is a spoiled kid who thinks he is a general. He builds planets and torments visitors, until his parents reprimand him.

The video incorporates Schumer and Pelosi as Trelane's parents.
