That's a politically risky stance for Hobbs to take in today's fantasy world of the GOP. They want football players, race car drivers, and truther writers to be on election boards and in the Senate and White House.

The Oath Keepers will tell a jury they really believed Donald Trump would turn them into his own, personal militia on Jan. 6

    excerpt:

"When nine accused leaders of the Oath Keepers go on trial for seditious conspiracy in Washington, DC, this fall, jurors in the government's first big, Jan. 6 showcase trial will hear a defense argument that sounds little short of crazy.

They'll be told that the far-right extremists believed President Donald Trump would invoke the Insurrection Act as they gathered at the Capitol, 100 strong in their camo-colored tactical gear — and turn them into his own, ultra-loyal federal militia.

Their fantasy mission? To "Stop the Steal," "Defend the President," and "Defeat the Deep State," according to since-deleted rhetoric from their website. A defiant Trump would officially be their commander in chief.

"Do NOT concede, and do NOT wait until January 20, 2021," Inauguration Day. "Strike now," Oath Keepers leader and founder Elmer Stewart Rhodes urged in an open letter to Trump on Dec. 14, 2020.

"You must call us up and command us.""

Trump Group Pays for Jan. 6 Lawyers, Raising Concerns of Witness Pressure

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — Former President Donald J. Trump's political organization and his allies have paid for or promised to finance the legal fees of more than a dozen witnesses called in the congressional investigation into the Jan. 6 attack, raising legal and ethical questions about whether the former president may be influencing testimony with a direct bearing on him.

The arrangement drew new scrutiny this week after Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide in his White House, made an explosive appearance before the House panel, providing damning new details about Mr. Trump’s actions and statements on the day of the deadly riot.

She did so after firing a lawyer who had been recommended to her by two of Mr. Trump’s former aides and paid for by his political action committee, and hiring new counsel. Under the representation of the new lawyer, Jody Hunt, Ms. Hutchinson sat for a fourth interview with the committee in which she divulged more revelations and agreed to come forward publicly to testify to them.

It is not known whether Ms. Hutchinson’s change in counsel led directly to her willingness to appear at a televised hearing and provide a more detailed, wide-ranging account of what she witnessed, but some members of the panel believe that it played a role, according to two people familiar with the committee’s work.

Mr. Trump claimed that Ms. Hutchinson’s new lawyer could have prompted her to make false statements. “Her story totally changed!” he complained on his social media site, Truth Social.

The episode raised questions about whether Mr. Trump and his allies may, implicitly or explicitly, be pressuring witnesses to hold back crucial information that might incriminate or cast a negative light on the former president. Mr. Trump and his advisers have been accused before of trying to influence witnesses in past investigations involving him. The committee is known to ask witnesses frequently during closed-door interviews whether anyone has tried to influence their testimony."

GOP megadonors turn on Trump after Jan. 6 hearings, set sights on DeSantis, Pence and other 2024 hopefuls

    excerpt:

"Some of the Republican Party’s wealthiest donors have finally ditched former President Donald Trump and are instead opening their checkbooks for other potential 2024 candidates like former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, CNBC reports, citing interviews with multiple fundraisers. The catalyst was not the Jan. 6 insurrection but the cascading bombshells coming out of the public hearings held by the House committee probing the riot. After a former aide testified Tuesday that Trump tried to strangle a Secret Service agent, one Republican donor who gave generously in 2020 told CNBC, “I don’t think any major donor with business interests would support a Trump presidential run after today’s hearing.” Even real estate pals in New York are having second thoughts after he took “major hits” during the hearings, the report says. Trump nevertheless has a track record of raising vast amounts from small donations."

Poll: Surging DeSantis closes gap with Trump to single digits

    excerpt:

"A full 40% — a clear plurality — say they’re not sure who they would vote for. And while it’s extraordinarily unlikely that Harris would challenge Biden for the Democratic nomination, the president’s anemic numbers in such a scenario underscore his waning popularity — even among his own party’s base.

Until recently, the conventional wisdom has been that the 2024 presidential election was shaping up as a rematch between Biden and Trump. That may still be the likeliest scenario. But as Biden’s popularity continues to sink amid soaring inflation — and as the Jan. 6 select committee sharpens the possibility of criminal charges against Trump — members of both parties have started to whisper about alternatives."

Footage claims to show Trump attempting to hijack own car on January 6th

    excerpt:

"Now, footage has been posted online which some commentators are claiming shows the event taking place.

NBC Executive Mike Singleton was one of the people to post footage on social media from a long-range camera, which claims to show the moment in question.

He captioned the video: “January 6: Seated directly behind the front seat in the presidential SUV, watch a very animated Trump lurch forward toward the driver several times, as they prepare to leave the rally.”

Writer Jack Bryan also posted four screen grabs from the footage, while adding the caption: “Trump reaching for steering wheel in four frames.”

He added: “It looks like he might have grabbed the wheel to keep them from leaving which makes more sense than him grabbing it to drive them off the road.”

Bryan also posted a zoomed in section of the clip and wrote: “At the very least Trump is moving his hand over the driver's shoulder. Not sure why else he would be doing that.”"

Arizona Senate President subpoenaed by FBI for Jan. 6 investigation

    excerpt

Officials confirmed on Thursday afternoon that Arizona Senate President Karen Fann was subpoenaed by the FBI as part of the Biden Administration’s investigation into the Jan. 6 insurrection. While Fann cannot comment on the investigation, officials say she is cooperating in releasing emails and text messages requested by the FBI.

Fann previously ordered the audit into the 2020 presidential election in Maricopa County over fraud allegations similar to those that led protestors to storm the Capitol. The Jan. 6 Committee is investigating the Capitol attack with a focus on Donald Trump’s efforts to undo Joe Biden’s victory. Fann is the latest Arizona official to be subpoenaed. Last Friday, Arizona Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward and her husband, Michael Ward, were subpoenaed as well.

On June 21, the House committee held a hearing about the attack on the Capitol where Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers told the panel he was pressured to overturn the 2020 election results. Bowers told the panel “he was subject to a “disturbing” smear campaign online, bull-horn protests at his home, and a pistol-wielding man taunting his family and neighbors.”"

I went to school for a BA in political Science. I am amazed they got away with total disregard for the constitution's Supremacy Clause when saying the Federal Government has no authority over states and companies which pollute. They claim to be Federalists, but want Confederate style of power in the states ... and a powerless federal government? In the abortion issue, they want total state control of women. In the gun issue, they want total constitutional supremacy for the federal right to arms ... with total disregard for the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. For voting rights, they want state legislatures to have more power even in federal elections. What are they up to here? What does their Federalist Society really stand for?

If it's true than why delete your own tweet?

Rudy Giuliani Deletes Tweet Insisting Cassidy Hutchinson Was Not Present When He Asked for a Pardon

Rudy Giuliani insisted on Twitter that Cassidy Hutchinson was “never present” when he asked former President Donald Trump when he asked for a pardon, and then deleted it.

Flagged by Ron Flipowski, who noted “She wasn’t there when I asked Trump for a pardon. But I never asked for a pardon. Only Rudy.”

He deleted the apparently self-incriminating Tweet and clarified that he never asked for a pardon:

Or for that matter Justice Thomas who has recently proven he's out of his fucking mind.

Justice Thomas cites debunked claim that Covid vaccines are made with cells from 'aborted children'

In a sharply worded dissent, Justice Clarence Thomas expressed support Thursday for a debunked claim that all Covid vaccines are made with cells from “aborted children.”

His dissent came in a decision by the Supreme Court to not take up a legal challenge by New York health care workers who opposed the state’s vaccine mandate on religious grounds.

Thomas, citing the plaintiffs, wrote that the health care workers “object” to the state’s vaccine mandate “on religious grounds to all available COVID–19 vaccines because they were developed using cell lines derived from aborted children.”

Pfizer and Moderna used fetal cell lines early in their Covid vaccine development to test the efficacy of their formulas, as other vaccines have in the past. The fetal tissue used in these processes came from elective abortions that happened decades ago. But the cells have since replicated many times, so none of the original tissue is involved in the making of modern vaccines.
