Watching Cassidy give testimony. She's got guts. That fucking sonofabitch, trump, should be in jail today.
I know a defensive move to get out of that. Would it be a person’s right to inflict injury on an individual, while in the process of protecting themselves- even if the assault is being committed by the POTUS?
And Trump knew there were weapons at the "rally" including AR 15s, Glocks, brass knuckles, body armor, etc. but he wanted the magnetometers removed so the Secret Service wouldn't find them.
He also threw food, and dishes in the dining room. What a two year old. It sucks when you don't get your own way.
Maybe he thought the secret service agent would 'tap-out' and they would take him to the capitol..lol..
Apparently, it wasn’t the first time Trump threw dishes and other items around the room. When AG William Barr announced there was no widespread election fraud, Donald Trump had a fit and began tossing dishes around.
Jan. 6 hearing witness: Irate Trump grabbed wheel, demanded to go to Capitol excerpt: "She said Trump told aides to let individuals with weapons past security and into the crowd, which he was "furious" with due to its size, with Hutchinson recalling Trump saying, "'I don't care that they have weapons. They are not here to hurt me. Take the effing mags (magnetometers) away.'" Trump wanted to go to the Capitol himself after his speech, she said, and there was even conversation about having him go into the House chamber, despite the White House counsel's office raising serious legal concerns and the Secret Service raising safety concerns."
It's been reported Trump puts ketchup on just about everything... Kinda like this guy with mustard...
Trump wouldn't have been allowed into the House chamber without Pelosi's permission. In January 2019, Trump was upset that Pelosi indicated she wasn't going to give him permission to do the State of the Union address in the House chamber while the government was shut down (which he caused because he was upset that Congress wasn't giving him money for his border wall). To retaliate, Trump canceled the military flight for the bipartisan Congressional delegation to visit troops in Afghanistan (another slap in the face he gave veterans which caused the decline of his approval rating for that group, which is part of why he lost the 2020 election). Knowing Trump, on January 6 he would have tried to find a way of circumventing the rules and law, such as declaring a national emergency at the Capitol (because of the riot that he incited) so that he could speak in the House chamber while Pelosi and the rest of the members of Congress were hiding in the basement. What a scene that would have been.
The implications are staggering; imagine If the President of the United States caused the limo to crash and he or one or more members of the secret service staff were injured. Now we know why there was serious talk about invoking the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, he was temporarily insane.
