https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2022/06/27/eastman-phone-seized-fbi-jan6/ excerpt: "Monday’s court filings also suggest the Justice Department’s inspector general has become a player in the criminal probes surrounding Jan. 6, because Eastman says his phone was taken by FBI agents acting on behalf of the inspector general. A spokeswoman for the inspector general declined to comment. Burham did not immediately respond to an email seeking further information about the seizure. The inspector general is an independent entity tasked with rooting out waste, fraud and abuse within the Justice Department. IG investigations examine the conduct of current or former department officials, and the office’s role in this case suggests it may be reviewing the contents of Eastman’s phone as part of a criminal investigation into Clark or others who once worked at the department. In court papers seeking the return of his phone, Eastman argues that because he was never a Justice Department employee, he is “outside of the OIG’s jurisdiction.”"
This has been an ongoing issue. Trump has utilized people from the outside like Giuliani and Eastman to conduct intimate operations within the White House, all the way up to overthrowing an election, but who claim immunity from the DOJ because they were not officials of the Trump administration. A perverted stance is the claim by Mo Brooks who want the DOJ to defend them from criminal and civil suits because they are members of Congress and supposedly were acting in their Congressional capacity when they appeared in non-Congressional activities, such as helping Trump incite a riot against Congress at a gathering at the Ellipse.
Trump-endorsed Mastriano, who won the GOP PA primary for governor, is now saying that the abortion issue is a distraction. After Roe v. Wade: Doug Mastriano, GOP nominee for Pennsylvania governor, now says abortion is a 'distraction' excerpt: "But the state senator also didn't really want to talk about it, he said, insisting that "it's all a distraction." "The Democrats and their friends in the traditional media want us to focus on this, and now on the Roe v. Wade decision, instead of dealing with life," Mastriano told the right-wing news outlet. "And most people in this country are concerned about inflation, gas prices, food not on the shelves, baby formula, and just on and on. So this is all a distraction." It wasn't a distraction when Mastriano was seeking the GOP nomination. In May, he said he opposed the right to terminate a pregnancy even if meant risking the death of a parent. "That baby deserves a right to life, whether it was conceived in incest, or rape, or whether there's concerns otherwise for the mom," he told a reporter during a campaign stop."
Trump-endorsed Mastriano is trailing Shapiro slightly. Mastriano was a promoter of Trump's quest to overthrow the 2020 election. A poll in Pennsylvania shows a tight Shapiro-Mastriano race, and Fetterman up on Oz. excerpt: "A USA Today/Suffolk University poll released on Wednesday shows the Pennsylvania governor’s race to be within the margin of error. Attorney General Josh Shapiro, the Democratic nominee, leads Doug Mastriano, a Republican state senator and retired Army colonel, by 44 percent to 40 percent among likely general election voters, with 13 percent undecided. The poll’s margin of error was plus or minus 4.4 percentage points. While it was just one survey, the findings signaled that Mr. Shapiro’s overwhelming fund-raising advantage and head start — he has long been seen as Democrats’ likely successor to Gov. Tom Wolf, who is term-limited — isn’t enough to keep the race from being competitive heading toward November."
How Doug Mastriano promoted election lies between Election Day and Jan. 6 excerpt: "Pennsylvania Republican state Sen. Doug Mastriano has been identified as a key figure by the House Jan. 6 committee in their investigation into the Capitol insurrection and efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Mastriano repeatedly supported Trump’s election-fraud lies, including staging a policy committee meeting in November 2020 that gave Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani — and Trump, who called into the meeting — a platform for disinformation. Mastriano spent over $3,000 to bus over 100 Trump supporters to D.C. on Jan. 6. During the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, Mastriano was seen crossing police barricades. He said he did not cross any lines established by law enforcement. Mastriano has denied a subpoena from the committee, but recently agreed to an interview in lieu of a deposition. He has also voluntarily handed over some documents — but the committee said it was not requesting documents involving his work as a Pennsylvania state senator. From Election Day to Jan. 6, Mastriano promoted baseless conspiracy theories. The Jan. 6 committee has said he worked with the Trump White House to undermine the results of the 2020 election."
Like the issue of the overturning of Roe vs. Wade that he now doesn't want to discuss, Mastriano also used the distraction ploy when he said that internet sleuths who caught him red-handed breaching police lines at the Capitol were trying to distract from issues like inflation and should be dismissed as ruling elites. With the help of Trump's endorsement, Mastriano has since won the 2022 GOP PA primary for governor, and polls show him running near the Democratic challenger, Shapiro, in the November general election. New video appears to show Pa. Sen. Mastriano closer to Capitol riot than he said excerpt: "But the statement from Mastriano, who is slated to appear at a conference organized by proponents of the QAnon conspiracy theory, does not address the inconsistencies with his prior accounts. It instead asserts that the circulation of the images is an effort by anti-Trump partisans to distract from rising inflation and gasoline prices and international conflicts under President Joe Biden’s administration. “They are the foot soldiers of the ruling elite and should be dismissed as such,” the statement reads, in reference to those that circulated the images."

Former Meadows aide to testify in surprise Jan. 6 committee hearing excerpts: "The Jan. 6 select committee is set to hear from a onetime top aide to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on Tuesday, an abruptly scheduled hearing whose announcement riveted Washington. Cassidy Hutchinson will testify publicly, according to two people familiar with the committee’s plans, after providing crucial testimony to the panel about significant exchanges among top Donald Trump’s inner circle in the weeks before the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Hutchinson replaced her attorney earlier this month as the select committee’s hearings began; her former attorney was the Trump White House’s chief ethics lawyer, and her new attorney is a longtime ally of former Attorney General Jeff Sessions." "Committee aides and members were tight-lipped about the substance of the hearing but were clear that it was scheduled with extreme urgency, interrupting what many of them had planned to be a quieter-than-usual week. Hutchinson’s identity as a witness on Tuesday was first reported by Punchbowl News."
After Donald J Trump's appointees on the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade; and ruled that school staff can engage in prayer on school grounds, the Republican wet dream is about to become a reality. I have said for many years --right here on Hipforums-- that the Republican Party Platform is identical to that of the KKK. I connected the dots by looking at their political theory ... that is what they stand for. Both the Republican Party and the KKK stand for state rights, and the original interpretation of the Constitution. Right after Roe was overturned, John Cornyn of Texas started calling for the overturning of Plessy v. Furgeson, and of Brown v. Borad of Education. So, now it is clear. Republicans do not want their White Children to go to school with Black children. I have always suspected the same to be the Republican motivation behind school vouchers and charter schools. Now I noticed something new and more dangerous: The Republicans are calling for the re-affirming of The Dred Scott Decision. The Dred Scott case of 1857 said that a Negro is not a United States Citizen and consequently is not entitled to any constitutional protections or the rights which accompany citizenship. When the Negro has no citizenship under the eye of the court, the Negro has no standing in court and cannot advance his cause in court. The Dred Scott decision also concluded by declaring that on states have the right/power to decide what to do about the status of a Negro, and the Federal Government had no right to interfere in these state matters. Now we can see the striking similarities between Dred Scott and last weeks overturning of Roe V. Wade ... which was sent back to the states by Trump's appointees. If Dred Scott is re-affirmed by Trump's judges, Republicans controlled states will not allow Black people to vote.
Henceforth ,there will be official government installed photographic light meters at the entrance of all designed voting locations in all states to determine voting eligibility. Voting while white: all right. Attempted voting while being too dark: Move along, please. Nothing to do here.
Live updates: Jan. 6 hearings day 6 excerpt: "Personal phone numbers posted online: In late November 2020, Trump invited delegations from Michigan and Pennsylvania to the White House. After Michigan State Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, a Republican, told Trump that he would not break the law to keep Trump in office, he said Trump posted Shirkey’s personal phone number for his millions of followers on Facebook, urging them to contact him and demand he decertify Michigan’s election results. Shirkey said he received "just shy of 4,000 text messages over the short period of time.”"
Capitol Rioter Who Boasted About Slapping a Rookie Cop Pleads Guilty excerpt: "Troy Sargent, of Massachusetts, once boasted on social media about hitting cops during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. But on Monday, he admitted to the assault in a more humble fashion, pleading guilty to six charges, including assaulting, resisting, or impeding law makers. According to an FBI affidavit, Sargent was caught hitting a law enforcement officer protecting the Capitol on body-camera footage, before going in for a second swing less than one minute later. The 38-year-old then sent a social media message about the incident: “I got two hits in on the same rookie cop.” Sargent, who was arrested in March of last year, faces a minimum of eight years in prison and will be sentenced in October.Read it at NBC Boston."
