DeSantis described Byrd, a Neptune Beach Republican member of the House since 2016, as a “staunch advocate for election security, public integrity, the fight against big tech censorship and the de-platforming of political candidates.”

Air National Guardswoman Took Leave to Participate in Capitol Riot, Feds Say

"A Trump-loving member of the West Virginia Air National Guard is facing charges for her alleged participation in the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot, and took leave from Jan. 5 to Jan. 7 so she could be there, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Friday in D.C. federal court. Virginia resident Jamie Lynn Ferguson, 44, was arrested Wednesday on four misdemeanor counts related to unlawful entry into the Capitol building and disorderly conduct. She first came to the attention of DoD investigators about a week after the attempted insurrection, when they spotted the aerospace medical technician in footage shot by the AFP news agency the day of the pro-Trump siege. Their report was passed along to the FBI, who interviewed Ferguson at her home, the complaint states, adding that she had been at the earlier Trump rally on the 6th with her parents, but marched to the Capitol alone, “believing that she would be able to see the President again.”"

Hunter Ehmke of Glendora sentenced to 4 years in prison for smashing window during Jan. 6 Capitol riot

"A Glendora man was sentenced Friday to four months in prison for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Hunter Ehmke, 21, pleaded guilty on Jan. 4 to a felony charge of destruction of government property after prosecutors say he smashed a U.S. Capitol windowpane with his foot and fist. Ehmke was also ordered to pay $2,821 in restitution and will be placed on three years of supervised release after serving his prison term.

Prosecutors say Ehmke was part of a large crowd that gathered that day outside the Rotunda Door on the East side of the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021. Ehmke jumped up onto the ledge of a window that had multiple panes and led to an office inside, then used his right foot to kick in the three lower panes of the window, which shattered, according to court documents. He then used his right fist to smash two more window panes, causing $2,821 in damage to window, according to the Architect of the Capitol.

Ehmke was arrested in California by the FBI and Glendora police about a week after Jan.6 Capitol breach."

Jen Psaki leaves the White House after holding 224 briefings — more than all of Trump's press secretaries combined

"White House press secretary Jen Psaki leaves her post on Friday having held more formal press briefings in the past 15 months than former President Donald Trump's press secretaries held in four years, a sign that the tradition that once faced an uncertain future has been restored to its usual prominence.

"We were following an administration that did not do daily press briefings," Psaki said during an event hosted by the Christian Science Monitor on Thursday. "It should be that this is a forum for people to ask difficult questions Monday through Friday."

Martha Joynt Kumar, director of the White House Transition Project, has kept meticulous records of the press briefings. Psaki has held 224 briefings as of Friday compared to the 205 formal briefings held by Trump's press secretaries, according to Kumar's tally."

Trump still owes El Paso $570,000 for 2019 rally as he headlines new one in Austin: report

"While Trump and guest speakers Don Trump Jr. former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and aging rocker Ted Nugent regale the crowd, the city of El Paso is waiting on close to $570,000 the former president's re-election committee still has yet to pay for a similar event in 2019 as part of his failed drive to be re-elected.

Raising questions about who will be paying for the attendant costs when Trump hits town, KXAN is reporting, "security will be tighter than your average comic book convention," with a convention official explaining, "As a former President, the event will have enhanced security protocols,” before adding the event's organizers would be responsible.

The report added, "The Austin Police Department told KXAN it would not be providing officers for the event, though it would be working to ensure 'appropriate' staffing levels with several special events slated for the weekend."

City officials in El Paso also spoke with KXAN and pointed out that they are still awaiting their money dating back almost three years despite multiple attempts to collect -- and they are not the only ones

According to the report, "Events featuring former President Trump have led to unpaid bills in cities across the U.S., most for additional police and public safety-related expenses," adding, "The City of El Paso told KXAN it has yet to receive the roughly $570,000 it is owed by the Trump re-election campaign for a rally at the El Paso County Coliseum in 2019. The majority of money went toward police costs."

Add to El Paso, the cities of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Spokane, Washington have also found themselves in similar situations."
