Mike Lindell told Mark Meadows he was 'praying' that Trump would consider seizing voting machines

    excerpt:

"Text messages to former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows show that MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell actively pushed for the administration to seize voting machines that he believed were responsible for stealing the 2020 election.

In a text message sent to Meadows on December 20th, 2020, Lindell enthusiastically endorsed the conspiracy theories about Dominion Voting Systems machines espoused by attorney Sidney Powell, and he encouraged Meadows and the former president to take action.

"We have to get the machines and everything we already have proves the President won by millions of votes!" Lindell falsely claimed. "I have read and not validated yet that you and others talked him out of seizing them... if true... I pray it is part of a bigger plan."

Lindell then brought up nonsensical claims about the machines breaking on election night, even though no such thing occurred."

Lindell: "Everything Sidney has said is true."

    Lindell is in another world.

Lindell wasn't part of Trump's staff. He isn't a politician. He has no government experience. He sells pillows.

Yet he was inside the White House conjuring up schemes to invoke martial law and seize voting machines to overturn an election.

Ex-Nato head says Putin wanted to join alliance early on in his rule

    excerpt:

"After the Orange Revolution street protests in Ukraine in 2004, Putin became increasingly suspicious of the west, which he blamed for funding pro-democracy NGOs. He was further angered by Nato’s continuing expansion into central and eastern Europe: Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania chose to join the alliance in 2004; Croatia and Albania followed in 2009. Georgia and Ukraine were promised membership in 2008 but have remained outside."

Lindell's claim last week that he would shock the world on Thursday about voter fraud was apparently intended to try to influence the Michigan GOP delegation on Saturday which ended up selecting two of Trump's fringe candidates, DePerno and Karamo.

Lindell rehashed the misinformation about a clerical error in Antrim County, Michigan that occurred during the counting of the votes for the 2020 election.

Trump and Lindell have been contending that it was intentional and that the voting machines in MI were rigged.

Trump lost MI by about 154,000 votes.

Lindell was seen leaving the White House with papers in his hand that had the words 'martial law' on them.

Text messages the Jan. 6 committee has acquired from Meadows are consistent with Lindell and Flynn wanting to invoke martial law.

Mike Lindell claimed he hadn't even read the notes on 'martial law' that he was carrying in a viral photo before a meeting with Trump: 'They weren't my papers'

    excerpt:

"Days before former President Donald Trump left office, Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, was photographed outside the White House carrying a pile of meeting notes that referenced "martial law" and the "Insurrection Act."

Lindell has now said that he didn't write the notes, he hadn't read them prior to his meeting with Trump, and he never spoke to Trump about martial law."

Attorney in Mike Lindell martial law plan denies knowing of pro-Trump plot

    excerpt:

"Haberman said Lindell’s White House meeting was “brief” and “contentious”.

“Lindell,” she wrote, “insists the papers he was holding, which were photographed and visible, didn’t reference ‘martial law’. An administration official says they definitely referenced martial law.

“But an administration official says Trump wasn’t really entertaining what Lindell was saying. Lindell also seemed frustrated he wasn’t getting more of a hearing.”

Haberman also reported that “among the items on Lindell’s list was replacing [national security adviser Robert] O’Brien”."

Hmmmm … I suppose that it is clear: We Americans are so much better-off, in so many ways, now that the “Big guy” and his cohorts (and puppeteers) are calling the shots.

‘People’s Convoy’ truckers are pelted with eggs by angry California residents

    excerpt:

"“People’s Convoy” protesters were met with a less than warm welcome when they reached a Californian city, as angry residents were seen in a viral video hurling eggs at the truck drivers and their vehicles.

A group of angry Oakland residents, comprised largely of young people, pelted eggs at the convoy of truckers on 22 April, said a local media report.

Residents could be heard saying “Get out of our town” and throwing eggs at the convoy as it passed a Safeway supermarket in the video posted on YouTube.

The “People’s Convoy” has been inspired by several similar protests that earlier took place in Canada against Covid vaccine mandates and abortion bills.

“This is not freedom — you are a disturber,” said a woman, confronting a man live-streaming the protest on Twitch."

    Article from October 2016.

Five and a half years later, the situation with the GOP has worsened.

The Right Is Giving Up on Democracy

    excerpt:

"Public-opinion polling shows that Trump’s low opinion of American elections has practically become Republican Party orthodoxy. According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday, Republicans have an “unprecedented” level of “concern and mistrust in the system.” Roughly 70 percent of Republican voters believe that if Hillary Clinton wins the election, it’ll be due to fraud. In both this poll and an NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll, only half of Republicans say they’d accept a Clinton victory. (In the latter poll, by contrast, 82 percent of Democrats said they would accept a Trump victory.)

This suspicious Republican electorate is joined by growing ranks of conservative politicians, pundits, and intellectuals. They’re all increasingly willing to say that the existing American political system is hopelessly flawed and needs to be rolled back to the days before blacks and women could vote. On the most obvious level, this can be seen in moves by Republican governors all over America to make voting more difficult, through stringent voting ID laws, new hurdles to registration, and the curtailment of early-voting options. Equally significant has been the gutting of key provisions of the Voting Rights Act by conservative Supreme Court justices in the 2013 Shelby Country v. Holder ruling. "

The Right Is Giving Up on Democracy

    excerpt:

"Suspicion of the democratic system is so pervasive on the right because it’s driven by the fear that white Christian America is facing demographic doom. The evidence is right there in the election results: Republicans have lost the popular vote in five of the last six presidential elections, and if current polling trends hold, the GOP will be batting one for seven when the results come in on November 8. Thanks to gerrymandering, Republicans may hold on to a U.S. House majority for a while, and they’ll remain competitive in state capitols in the near future. But a whites-only party can’t win national elections. And over time, the GOP’s congressional and state fortresses will crumble if the party doesn’t change dramatically. Or if the democratic system doesn’t change dramatically."

So you have made poor personal decisions that have negatively affected your life. So what do you do? As conservatives always do, you blame others for said personal decisions.

if you don’t like it here, try Russia.

    https://thehill.com/policy/technolo...s-truth-social-fall-after-musks-twitter-deal/

    excerpt:

"Shares that are tied with the company funding former President Trump’s latest social media venture, Truth Social, took a dive on Monday after social media platform Twitter announced its deal with Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

CNBC reported that Digital World Acquisition Corp’s shares fell to nearly 13 percent on Monday, adding up to the company’s year-to-date losses to over 30 percent.

Truth Social, which officially launched in February was created by Trump after he was permanently banned from multiple social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram for actions involving the Jan.6 insurrection at the Capitol, CNBC noted.

This comes as Twitter announced plans to sell itself to Musk, as the two sides reached an agreement on the acquisition of the company worth up to $44 billion.

In an interview with Fox News published Monday, Trump said he has no plans to return to Twitter amid Musk’s move to acquire the social media platform, also applauding Musk for his acquisition of the asset."

Trump doesn't have much reason to return to Twitter. Liz Harrington is parroting all of his remarks for him on Twitter.

The Republican base thinks their leaders need to be at least as stupid as they, themselves, are...

And, Republican leaders know their base is really fucking stupid.
