Trump was dumb enough to believe Putin's rhetoric that he wanted to use a 'special military operation' to liberate Ukraine of Nazis and be a peacekeeper for their new-found 'independence'.

Trump endorses Greene, Jordan, and a slew of other fringe Trump loyalists.

    https://thehill.com/news/3261167-tr...taylor-greene-other-house-gop-2020-objectors/

    excerpt:

"Former President Trump announced on Wednesday he would be endorsing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) along with a slew of other House Republicans who objected to certifying 2020 election results in his favor.

Greene has been an outspoken Trump supporter during her first term in Congress as is Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) who Trump also announced Wednesday he would be backing.

The slew of House Republican endorsements by Trump come one day after Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) became the fourth GOP congressman who voted to impeach Trump after the Capitol riot to announce he would not see reelection."

In his endorsement of Greene, Trump called the Georgia Republican “a warrior in Congress.”

“She doesn’t back down, she doesn’t give up, and she has ALWAYS been with ‘Trump,’” the former president said in a statement through his Save America PAC."

Trump fake elector loses reelection bid.

A local official in Wisconsin who served as a fake 2020 presidential 'elector' for Trump was booted out of office

    excerpt:

"A Republican local official in Wisconsin who served as a phony presidential elector for President Donald Trump in 2020 lost her reelection bid on Tuesday.

Kelly Ruh, an alderperson in De Pere, Wisconsin, was one of dozens of Republicans who put her name on a slate of fake presidential electors for Trump in the aftermath of the 2020 election, part of a wide range of efforts by state and local officials to overturn Trump's election loss in key swing states.

Democrat Pamela Gantz, the real estate agent and poll worker who defeated Ruh for the seat, told Bolts Magazine that her "campaign was about restoring trust in our local officials and focusing on the local issues that matter to us as a community.""

    Coomer sues Lindell.

MyPillow CEO sued for defamation by former Dominion Voting employee

    excerpt:

"Lindell, a Trump supporter, conservative activist and conspiracy theorist, was handed the lawsuit while at a political rally he hosted in Denver, Colorado.

“What’s this?” Lindell said upon receiving the envelope.

“It’s for you,” the messenger said.

As Mike Lindell walks away from his “election integrity” speech on the steps of the CO Capitol today, he gets served with Eric Coomer’s (Dominion Security) defamation lawsuit. “What is this?” “It’s for you.”

In the lawsuit, Coomer, Dominion’s former director of product strategy and security, said Lindell “has publicly accused [him] of being a ‘traitor to the United States’…[and] has claimed, without evidence, that Dr Coomer committed treason and that he should turn himself in to the authorities.”"

    Judge nixes Bannon's defense.

Judge nixes key Bannon defense against criminal charges for defying Jan. 6 committee

    excerpt:

"A federal judge has dealt a significant setback to Steve Bannon’s defense against criminal charges the former Trump adviser is facing for defying a subpoena from the Jan. 6 select committee.

The Justice Department in November charged Bannon with two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena for documents and testimony related to the select committee probe of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters."

Trump loses effort to have judge recused from his suit against Hillary Clinton.

Judge rejects Trump’s demand he step back from suit against Hillary Clinton

    excerpt:

"A federal judge — nominated to the bench by President Bill Clinton in 1996 — on Wednesday emphatically rejected Donald Trump’s demand that he recuse from Trump’s sprawling lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, declaring that there’s no legitimate basis to demand that he step back from the case.

In a five-page order, Judge Donald Middlebrooks emphasized that he has never met either of the Clintons and was confirmed by unanimous consent in the Senate, requiring backing from both parties."

Arizona Supreme Court dismisses GOP lawsuit aimed at eliminating early voting - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"Arizona’s Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit by state Republicans that aimed to eliminate the state’s early voting system, which is used by the vast majority of Arizona voters.

The court said in its order that it didn’t have original jurisdiction in the case and declined to hear the lawsuit.

The court also did not consider two other issues in the case – whether the state’s elections procedures manual should include guidelines on verifying voter signatures and whether the use of drop boxes for ballots are unconstitutional.

Republicans filed the lawsuit in February, arguing that the Arizona Constitution does not allow for mail-in voting or other forms of early voting but specifically directs that votes be cast in person.

The lawsuit said that “in-person voting at the polls on a fixed date is the only constitutionally permissible manner of voting.”"

Trump buddy Alex Jones finally appears for Sandy Hook deposition.

    https://www.usnews.com/news/us/arti...appears-for-questioning-in-sandy-hook-lawsuit

    excerpt:

"Jones, who lives in Texas, had defied a judge's order to appear for a deposition in the case, saying he was too ill. But Connecticut Judge Barbara Bellis said there wasn’t enough evidence that Jones was too sick to attend and ordered him to come to Connecticut for questioning and pay escalating daily fines until he did so. Jones paid $25,000 in fines for Friday and $50,000 in fines for Monday, according to court records."

Lindell became upset when he noticed the papers in his hand that were given to him and didn't realize it was another lawsuit against him. Then he became really upset.

I'm thinking of writing a report about the Donald. I think I'll call it The Angina Monologues.
My husband loves him, so I hear all his stupid, self aggrandizing speeches. What a clown.

Trump rallies once had some pragmatic features, such as appealing to the working class left-behinders.

Over the years, they have morphed into worship events.

The Growing Religious Fervor in the American Right: 'This Is a Jesus Movement'

    excerpt:

"Compared with 2016, Trump rallies are taking on the feel of worship events, from the stage to the audience. When Trump held his first rally of the year in Florence, Arizona, in January, he descended via helicopter into a jubilant crowd.

“I lay the key of David upon you,” Anthony Kern, a candidate for the Arizona state Senate who was photographed on the Capitol steps on Jan. 6, 2021, proclaimed to the crowd from the stage, paraphrasing a biblical passage about power given by God. “That means the governmental authority is upon you, men and women.”

Standing in the crowd, Kathy Stainbrook closed her eyes and raised her arms high in worship. She had come from Shasta County, California, with a group of Christian women involved in the Shasta County Freedom Coalition, a collection of right-wing groups that has included a militia, according to its website, and has supported an effort to recall a Republican county supervisor. The coalition also promotes “biblical citizenship” classes.

A friend of Stainbrook’s, Tami Jackson, who was also in the crowd, said she had come to see politics as an inherently spiritual struggle.

She said she wanted to be a part of “staking claim” to what God was doing. “This is a Jesus movement,” Jackson said. “I believe God removed Donald for a time so the church would wake up and have confidence in itself again to take our country back.”"

My husband has said that God sent Trump to save us. I certainly don't believe it, though, for many reasons. But I see the almost worshipful look in the eyes of his followers. It's just wrong.

Where I am here in North Dakota Trump has some heavy support. The common thread among them is that they are very ill informed, to the point of stupid. They know little of international issues, and do not understand the domestic issues which they have heard about on FOX news.
