Giuliani to Senator: ‘Try to Just Slow it Down’ excerpt: "So if you could object to every state and, along with a congressman, get a hearing for every state, I know we would delay you a lot, but it would give us the opportunity to get the legislators who are very, very close to pulling their vote, particularly after what McConnell did today. It angered them, because they have written letters asking that you guys adjourn and send them back the questionable ones and they'll fix them up."
It's not clear what Giuliani is trying to say. Congress sending an electoral slate back to a state requires more than just one Senate member and one House member invoking an objection about a particular state's electoral slate. After an objection, a debate is held in each chamber. A majority vote is needed in each chamber to send an objected slate back to a state. That is almost impossible for the contentions without merit that Trump and Giuliani were raising about the election. The objection to Arizona failed by a Senate vote of 93-6. It's not very clear any time Giuliani is trying to say something... This time shouldn't be any different.
Amazingly, U.S. House member Mo Brooks said that in September 2021, close to a year after the 2020 election, Trump was still trying to have him somehow rescind the 2020 presidential election and invoke a new election.
As I have said several times. People, in this country, are told that anybody can be president. The question is should they be president? The answer, I think, is obvious.
These people that made an attempted coup on this country BETTER end up in jail. It's clear what they wanted--an authoritarian takeover of the government of the United States!!!! If they don't go to jail for what are still attempting to do---what in hell good are ANY laws in this country?? What they did and trump is still doing is as bad as it gets short of an actual invasion of this country!! The only thing trump is good at is --CRIMINALITY.
Like Trump, Brooks wants to dispose of McConnell and is turning his campaign for governor into a vendetta on McConnell. Now that Trump has rescinded his endorsement, Brooks might as well drop his anti-McConnell crusade (which sounded like it was a ploy to please Trump). How Trump threw Mo Brooks under the bus excerpt: "Brooks was the sole candidate in the race who was active in supporting Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the presidential election — an effort which he began prior to certification on Jan. 6, when he spoke at the Trump rally that preceded the Capitol riot. The congressman continues to maintain he is “the only proven America First candidate” in the primary. On Thursday, Brooks will launch his “Fire McConnell Tour,” featuring 100 stops around the state highlighting his position that Republicans need a change in leadership from McConnell."
How Trump threw Mo Brooks under the bus excerpt: “I suspect that Donald Trump is going to endorse Katie Britt, but again with Donald Trump, who knows what he’s going to do next,” Brooks said to laughter. “Before the thing is over with, you might even have him endorsing all three candidates. That way, he’s assured of being able to say that he won.”
It was the opposite. Jackson responded politely as the GOP senators attacked her. The situation was similar to the innocent Shemp trying to passively defend himself from the woman who was beating the heck out of him while accusing him of being a horrible person. Youtube video:
FBI seeks help identifying US Capitol attack suspect who may be in Chicago-area excerpt: "CHICAGO (WLS) -- The FBI is asking the public to help identify a man suspected of assaulting an officer during the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The man, who may be living in the Chicago area, allegedly attacked a federal officer with wasp spray and smashed windows at the Capitol. Federal agents said they've determined from tips that the man lives in metro Chicago; but despite several clear photos, they apparently don't know specifics, including his name. In an FBI posting, photos show a white man with a medium to heavier build. He is seen wearing white and black gloves, a cap with "Cahartt" on the front, reflective sunglasses, a multi-toned gaiter and a black hooded coat."
Capitol rioters seeking plea deal. Accused Capitol rioters from Pa., W.Va. charged with assaulting police ask judge for more time to work out plea deal excerpt: "Two men from Pennsylvania and West Virginia charged with attacking police with chemical spray during the Capitol insurrection have had "meaningful discussions" with the government about a plea deal and want more time to work one out. Julian Khater of State College, Pa., and George Tanios of Morgantown, W.Va., are under indictment on numerous felony counts in connection to participating in the riot by a pro-Trump mob that stormed the Capitol in support of Trump’s baseless voter fraud claims. Both are accused of assaulting an officer and conspiracy to injure officers with chemical spray, among other charges."
Plea deal... Drop the other charges and lock these idiots up for assault on an officer and conspiracy. Fuck these guys.
https://www.usnews.com/news/politic...-asks-appeals-court-to-enforce-trump-subpoena excerpt: "NEW YORK (AP) — New York's attorney general is asking a state appeals court to uphold a lower court ruling requiring former President Donald Trump to answer questions under oath after a civil investigation into his business practices uncovered evidence that he may have misstated the value of assets like golf courses and skyscrapers on financial statements for more than a decade. In papers filed late Monday, Attorney General Letitia James' office said it has every right to question Trump, who is appealing the lower court ruling, as it seeks to determine whether the misrepresented values shown to lenders, taxing authorities and other business interests constituted fraud and, if so, who committed that fraud. James is also seeking to uphold a ruling forcing Trump's two eldest children, Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr., to testify. Both of them have been executives at their father's company, the Trump Organization."
