I do fear for this guy actually . I think he disliked what Russia was doing but being a close friend of Putin went along with it . He was always pictured in uniform . His last appearance he wasnt wearing a uniform which kind of signalled to me ,he was embarrassed to wear it. I think Putin has had him seen to .

I know this isn't a joke thread, but...

    Conversation between 2 Russians.
-President Putin said the special military operation in Ukraine is in reality a conflict between Russia and NATO.
    -Who is winning?
-So far we have lost 15000 troops, 6 generals, 80 planes, 240 MBTs, 1200 trucks and 1 ship.
    -And NATO?
-NATO hasn't entered the war yet.

A guy from Slovakia sent me this.

Objectively/imo Putin is not going to escalate things to ww 3.............as long as the "west" is not going to either.................social/mainstream media should stop the fearmongering. And outside Putin.............China is also a factor to keep in mind.

    We all need eachother..........finance/economics/energy/progress/ect.............*sigh*

I would LOVE to see the Ukrainian counterattacks push all the way back thru Crimea. Does anyone know if that's a real possibility? It would certainly be a bitchslap to Putin when he realizes he doesn't even get any parting gifts.

I would luv to see it . But reality tells me its not possible . Basically the Ukrainians dont have enough offensive weapons and like the Russians their supply lines will become to stretched to maintain.

I think the best we can hope for is to maintain the no flight zone around the Capital and the defensive ring perimeter .

I think Mariupol is sadly lost military wise as Ukraine are unable to relieve it as it is too far . Basically the further East you go the more difficult it will become as Russia will be stronger in those areas as its easier for them to resupply and support .

I think you're right. Crimea would have to be won back another day. But it's still a fun idea to consider. I just found an article from last week:
Could Ukraine win and Russia lose the war?

where analysts mostly believe that Russia will fail to reach a victory, but they stop short of proposing an actual Ukraininan win that would give them Crimea back. Granted, this article was from last week when Russian casualties were half of what's reported today... so things might be changing fast ;)

    From the article:
"Russia wants to control Ukraine [...] "That is almost zero chance of occurring now," Horrell said. "And for Ukraine ... you would define victory as the complete expulsion of the Russian invaders, not just this recent invasion, but to get the borders back to 2014, before Crimea was illegally annexed."

"...an incomplete victory for Ukraine is another potential outcome of this war. Horrell said this is a scenario that would end in a "frozen conflict" if Russia still held Crimea and the Russian-led separatist areas of eastern Ukraine."

If the war stopped today who pays for the damage in Ukraine?
