"As Pride Week gets underway in one Texas school district, the state’s attorney general has declared the whole event illegal.

In a stern letter to the Austin Independent School District – which he also posted on Twitter – Attorney General Ken Paxton said the week-long celebration of LGBTQ students violates state laws against teaching “human sexuality” without parents’ permission.

“By hosting ‘Pride Week,’ your district has, at best, undertaken a week-long instructional effort in human sexuality without parental consent,” the Republican AG wrote on Tuesday. “Or, worse, your district is cynically pushing a week-long indoctrination of your students that not only fails to obtain parental consent, but subtly cuts parents out of the loop. Either way, you are breaking state law.”

The Austin Independent School District describes its Pride Week as “a time to highlight the district’s commitment to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment” for LGBTQ students. The district suggests Pride activities for schools to administer, and provides “swag” such as flags, stickers, and buttons.

Mr Paxton said this must all come to an end.

“I encourage you to take immediate action to rectify this situation,” the attorney general wrote."

 

Paxton was a speaker at Trump's riot-inciting rally.

"Several news organizations have requested Paxton’s communications from around that time under the Texas Public Information Act. Last March, six news outlets jointly published a story raising questions about whether Paxton was breaking open records laws.

Earlier this month, top editors at five Texas newspapers — the Austin American-Statesman, The Dallas Morning News, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Houston Chronicle and the San Antonio Express-News — filed a complaint asking the district attorney to investigate the alleged violations.

Paxton faces several GOP challengers in his reelection bid this year.

In 2020, eight of Paxton’s top deputies accused him of bribery, abuse of office and other crimes in the service of another supporter, an Austin real estate developer who employs a woman with whom the attorney general allegedly had an extra-marital affair. The FBI is investigating those allegations.

The attorney general has also spent most of his time in office under a separate felony indictment. He pleaded not guilty in 2015 to three state securities fraud charges but is yet to face trial."

 

After he gets out of prison he will have an appreciation for pride week. If you know what I mean.

 

Paxton is the attorney general of Texas, the one who is supposed to be upholding the law.

Two others familiar with his reaction to the near-brawl said Trump privately bashed the 2022 Ohio GOP frontrunners Josh Mandel and Mike Gibbons for—in Trump’s characterization—“acting like idiots,” following their public confrontation.

Three longtime GOP operatives working on this Ohio race each independently described the debate footage as a “shitshow,” when asked by The Daily Beast."

 

Next time, Gibbons and Mandel should bring some American flags and whack each other over the head with the poles while calling each other traitors.

"I would like to address the embarrassment of Friday evening,” Timken began her answer to a question about lowering gas prices. “Josh Mandel and Mike Gibbons acted like children and if I had been their mother, I’d have grounded them.”

 

That was in 2019.

Anthony Atamanuik's comedy sketches of Trump going rogue turned out to be prophetic. His violent insurrection at the Capitol a couple years later looked like an Atamanuik sketch, but much worse.

Atamanuik's sketches would usually have Trump going rogue near the end and being dragged away by Pence or the Secret Service. In one sketch, Trump was so happy beeping the horn in the semi tractor trailer that he drove away and went over the edge into the ocean.

The sketches were symbolic of Trump's self-destructive behavior.

When investigators interviewed Snow in February of 2021, he “voluntarily confirmed his identity” and admitted to being inside the Capitol building on Jan. 6, according to the government’s complaint.

How can people expect Trump to move on from the 2020 election when he can't make it past the 2016 election.

 

What Trump's lawyers describe in the suit as a 'hostile foreign sovereignty' is Russia.

Trump has shown affection for Putin and Russia.

Trump should be arguing that Hillary shouldn't have been tampering with his friends.

 

Trump might have a better chance of winning in court if he argued that Hillary committed injurious falsehood to his friendship with Putin and Russia.
