Putin's tactics are in the same spirit as those of Trump who didn't seem to have an issue with his supporters who were making threats and wanted to kidnap governor Whitmer of Michigan and attack members of Congress who he felt were in his way of overturning the 2020 election.

When Trump supporters in Texas ran the Biden-Harris tour bus off the road, Trump said he didn't think they did anything wrong.

It's understandable why Trump has said many times that he gets along with Putin.

Russia ‘installs new mayor of Melitopol’ - follow live

    excerpt:

"Meanwhile, the Russian military has reportedly installed a new mayor in the Ukrainian city of Melitopol, which is under Russian military control, after the elected mayor was allegedly kidnapped by Moscow’s troops on Friday. Galina Danilchenko, formerly a deputy on the city council, Danilchenko, was introduced as the acting mayor on local TV, according to a statement on the Zaporozhye regional administration website. In her televised statement, which was posted by the administration on Telegram, Danilchenko said her “main task is to take all necessary steps to get the city back to normal”.

Residents in Melitopol earlier demanded the release of mayor Ivan Federov after he was reportedly kidnapped by Russian troops."

Hillary is one of the most investigated political figures with criminal and ethical accusations against her dating back to the 1990's. All the attempts to charge her have failed.

Durham may use terms like 'exploited' to give an aura that illegal acts took place against Trump, but monitoring public domain name traffic isn't illegal or unethical.

Durham will have a difficult time trying to convict Sussman, assuming the case isn't dismissed before it goes to trial in late spring or early summer 2022.

Barr assigned Durham to investigate the Russia investigation in May 2019, nearly three years ago. Barr elevated Durham to special counsel in October 2020 but didn't notify Congress until after the November election. Durham's investigation of the Mueller investigation currently has run about a year longer than Mueller's.

Durham spent nearly $4 million during his first year as special counsel. He needs to produce results (even if flimsy) to convince the current AG to provide more funding to continue the investigation of the investigation for a second year as special counsel (a fourth year.total as an investigator).

At a rally in SC, Trump seemed to be saying that Putin was driven to invade Ukraine because of lack of respect for Biden.

Trump warns that Ukraine war could lead to World War III, calls Putin ‘driven’

    excerpt:

“And it happens to be a man that is just driven. He’s driven to put it together,” Mr Trump added. “And you look at it and it’s ridiculous and it’s so senseless and it’s so horrible. And I say it again and I’ll say it again and again, it should have never happened, if he respected our president, it would have never ever happened."

Mr Trump then pivoted to his signature issue: immigration

“But no one ever mentions the bloody and horrific war raging just across our border,” he said.

The GOP made the issue of whether or not to wear face coverings into a war front, particularly DeSantis of Florida..

The latest front for the GOP is whether to keep supporting Putin during his invasion of Ukraine.

Trump has wholeheartedly supported Putin, which means many in the GOP feel the same way to adhere to Trump.

Tucker Carlson said that Putin never violated his rights, like mandating a mask during the pandemic.

Ukraine war becomes a cudgel in Republican Party's internal conflict

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The war in Ukraine has opened a new front in the U.S. Republican Party's civil war, with party primary candidates vying to run in the November midterm elections attacking each other for past comments praising Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In Senate and House of Representatives races in at least three states, Republican candidates have been put on the defensive over comments describing Putin as intelligent, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy as a "thug" and Ukraine as not worth defending. They now face criticism at a time when U.S. public opinion strongly supports Ukraine and its president.

Pat McCrory, a leading Republican Senate candidate in North Carolina's May 17 primary election, lashed out this week at his Trump-backed Republican rival, Representative Ted Budd, in his first TV ad.

"While Ukrainians bled and died ... Congressman Budd excused their killer," McCrory says in the ad, which is interspersed with video clips from a TV interview showing Budd describing Putin as "a very intelligent actor" with "strategic reasons" for the invasion.

The ad also accused Budd, who has described Putin as "evil," of casting votes "friendly" to Russia."

In the perception of the Carlson and some in the GOP, there's no problem with Putin starting a little old war and potentially hundreds of thousands of people dead in Europe or even the U.S.

Many in the GOP have been willing to sacrifice 1 million people in the U.S. to the coronavirus in the name of not wanting to wear a face covering.
