I am guessing we are in the calm before the storm with not very many new reports coming through .

Only the forward screen elements have reached the capital so far

I think the Russians are waiting for the main force to catch up before storming the capital tonight .

Tomorrow I think it will be all over with a Russian flag planted on the Presidential Palace

 

The latest (few hours ago) reports by various western news media, is that approx. 2,700 Russian citizens in about 50 cities, have been arrested for demonstrations of even the smallest kind.

Well, if only 1 out of 20 Russians are brave (or foolish) enough to risk arrest, that means that at least 270,000 Russians are not happy or in agreement with the situation their government is doing.

Will there be another 1917-style revolution? NO. Not gonna happen. Will it cause general discord and disruption in Russian officials society? Quite possibly. People have ways of expressing opinions other than outright protest. We shall see.

 

The problem is the sanctions will hit the innocent people most and the oligarchs will always find food

 

Yes, we shall see if the anti-war movement continues to grow, especially among older Russians. It won't succeed if it's only a youth movement.

The tank on the far left is definately Ukrainian as I can identify from the wheels as being a T64 BV .

The Russians scrapped their T64s many years ago . The other vehicles are BMP2 Infantry Fighting vehicles again Ukrainian I think .

Germany is sending a few thousand anti-tank missiles to Ukraine. But HOW to get them into, and then around the country?? Air-drops, as the UK and US did in France in 1944 are not possible now. Another good idea, but always, HOW?
