Another Trump winner. FBI Arrests Trump Supporter Who Stormed Capitol While on Bail for Attempted Murder excerpt: "WASHINGTON — A Jan. 6 rioter who stormed the Capitol while he was out on bail for attempted first-degree murder was arrested by the FBI on Tuesday, more than 10 months after he was first identified by online sleuths. Matthew Jason Beddingfield, of North Carolina, faces felony charges of assaulting officers, impeding officers during a civil disorder, and carrying a deadly or dangerous weapon on restricted Capitol grounds, as well as several misdemeanors, according to court records. Beddingfield was first publicly identified in a HuffPost story in March after online sleuths investigating the Jan. 6 attack used facial recognition to find his mugshot and then confirmed his identification with the help of his father’s Facebook page. Beddingfield traveled to D.C. on Jan. 6 with his father, a fellow Donald Trump supporter who also believed the former president’s lies about a stolen election."

Or exactly how many of them there are. One year into an unprecedented investigation of the thousands of rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the FBI is leaning on a band of digital investigators to both identify suspects and piece together an overwhelming mountain of evidence from that day, much of which was recorded by the perpetrators themselves. The crowdsourced effort, organized on social media last year in the wake of the Capitol attack, has affected hundreds of the more than 700 cases that federal prosecutors have brought in the past 12 months. There’s much, much more to come. The digital investigators have successfully identified hundreds of individuals who were captured on video committing crimes on Jan. 6 but have not yet been charged, including dozens and dozens of violent rioters whose images are featured on the FBI’s U.S. Capitol Violence website."
Convicted fraud felon advising Wisconsin Republicans on election 'audit' of Trump's loss excerpt: "Wisconsin Republicans have tapped a felon convicted of fraud to look into Donald Trump's claims of election fraud in that state. Peter Bernegger, who was convicted in 2009 on bank fraud and mail fraud for deceiving investors in two startup companies, had been looking to election conspiracies on his own before Assembly Republicans decided to give him a platform Wednesday to describe what he found, reported the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Bernegger, the grandson of the founder of Hillshire Farms sausages, declined to comment on his testimony, which comes as GOP legislators are spending more than $670,000 in taxpayer funds to conduct an election audit to prove Trump's claims, but Democrats spoke out against his involvement. “Hearing from Peter Bernegger will only further confirm what we have known about the so-called experts that Republicans keep bringing in: we can’t trust them," said Rep. Mark Spreitzer (D-Belot). "The only expertise Mr. Bernegger has is in being convicted of fraud. He is the last person I would trust to do anything with Wisconsin’s elections.""

Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters arrested by Grand Junction police for resisting search warrant excerpt: "The incident is not directly related to multiple state and federal investigations into Peters's alleged involvement last year in election data security breaches, authorities confirmed. The police department's spokeswoman said no additional information was available. According to a search warrant issued Tuesday morning in Mesa County Court, officers were attempting to obtain an Apple iPad tablet computer with a white keyboard case in Peters's possession. Authorities intended to review data "believed to have been created, viewed, accessed, modified, deleted, downloaded or saved" between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, when they suspect Peters recorded proceedings in a courtroom where use of electronic recording devices is forbidden. A representative of Peters's legal defense fund told Colorado Politics that Peters complied with the warrant by producing the iPad, but then officers attempted to confiscate other property — including her cars keys — that wasn't listed on the warrant, and she objected. Her attorneys are discussing their response, the representative said."
'Let's Go!': Man Who Allegedly Directed Rioters Through Capitol Doors Arrested He said in an interview that he entered because "the commies are trying to steal the country," court documents showed. By Josephine Harvey 02/08/2022 09:00pm EST 'Let's Go!': Man Who Allegedly Directed Rioters Through Capitol Doors Arrested excerpt: "A New York man accused of pulling open a door to the Capitol and directing a crowd of rioters inside on Jan. 6, 2021, was arrested Tuesday on civil disorder and other charges. According to an FBI affidavit, Eric Gerwatowski, 31, of New Hyde Park, New York, was at the front of a crowd just outside the Upper House doors to the Capitol. As Capitol Police attempted to close the doors to prevent rioters from breaching the building, he yanked one open, turned to the crowd and shouted, “Let’s go!” He allegedly directed rioters inside and entered the building himself. One of the officers told the FBI in an interview that he made a tactical decision not to engage Gerwatowski and other rioters. “The Officer said he made this decision because he had just come from the Gallery area of the Capitol where another rioter, Ashli Babbitt, was shot. The Officer told the FBI that he was exhausted, outnumbered, and had already been attacked and sprayed with several chemicals by rioters earlier in the day,” the affidavit said. In an interview outside the Capitol building afterwards, Gerwatowski said he entered the Capitol because “the commies are trying to steal the country” and he believed the 2020 election had been stolen, according to the document."
Antrim County voting machine report from Michigan referred to Jan. 6 committee excerpt: "What remains unclear is the extent to which the authors of the false report drafted it to lay the groundwork for the former president’s executive order, and if they did so at his direction or the direction of his campaign," Benson wrote in the letter dated Jan. 26. Attorney General Merrick Garland is copied on the letter. Documents already obtained by the Jan. 6 committee made references to the Antrim County report findings, including an unsigned draft of a presidential order that would have ordered the defense secretary to seize voting machines and appoint a special counsel to investigate the 2020 election. A "strategic communications plan" outlines a Trump team bid to convince House and Senate Republicans to vote against certifying the results of the 2020 election in several states, including Michigan, in the lead-up to the Jan. 6 Electoral College certification."

Rudy Giuliani celebrates 'big win' after Michigan judge allows investigation into voting machines | Daily Mail Online excerpt: "The mother-of-two, then Mellissa Wright, reportedly harassed the 42-year-old victim for a period of two years, stalking her and sending her explicit videos from an anonymous account of herself having sex with her partner, the victim’s ex-husband. Investigators managed to trace the emails’ IP address back to Carone and she later admitted to investigators that she was the person responsible for sending them, according to documents obtained by Deadline Detroit. As exclusively reported by DailyMail.com last week, Carone was initially charged with obscenity and computer crimes, but the charges were later reduced to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. Her probation ended on September 13, just weeks before Election Day, when a temporary staffing agency hired Carone to assist Dominion Voting Systems in Detroit."
