Remember when the Senate under McConnell refused to investigate the Ukraine fiasco? Remember when they gave Robert Meuller limited power to investigate? Trump should be reinvestigated for that corruption again. The GOP investigated The Clintons for years, even before Ben Ghazi.
In the 70's era, members of both parties were sufficiently outraged that Nixon was involved in a burglary at Watergate that it forced his resignation. Trump was involved in a coordinated, multi-state scheme that tried to manufacture an electoral conflict that would give Pence an opportunity to overthrow a fair election. Yet some in the GOP are saying Democrats are simply playing politics with what the GOP thinks is an innocuous little stunt that was directed by Trump. They would be making the same remarks about Watergate if it happened in today's era.
Budowich lost his case to keep his records from the Jan. 6 committee. Dan Scavino also lost his bid to keep his phone records from the committee. Former Trump Aide Dan Scavino Tried And Failed To Anonymously Fight A Subpoena For His Phone Records Scavino filed the lawsuit under his name after a judge rejected his bid to only be known as “Plaintiff.” Zoe Tillman Posted on January 21, 2022, at 6:41 p.m. ET Trump Aide Dan Scavino Was Revealed To Be The Person Trying To Anonymously Fight A Jan. 6 Subpoena excerpt: "WASHINGTON — Daniel Scavino Jr., who served as former president Donald Trump’s deputy chief of staff, was revealed late Friday to be the person who had tried, and failed, to win a judge’s permission to fight a subpoena for his phone records in the Jan. 6 investigation using a pseudonym. The legal mystery began on Jan. 5 this year, when a person only identified as “Plaintiff” filed a lawsuit contesting a subpoena issued to Verizon Communications by the special congressional committee probing the Capitol insurrection. Normally, litigants can only proceed anonymously with a judge’s permission, and the anonymous plaintiff’s lawyer filed that request a few weeks later. On Jan. 19, US District Chief Judge Beryl Howell said no, and Scavino refiled the complaint under his name in the same case on Friday."
Scavino started as Trump's golf caddy. He stayed with Trump's administration throughout the entire term.
Nearly a year and three months after the 2020 election, people are still waiting for Powell to release her kraken. ‘Release the Kraken,’ a catchphrase for unfounded conspiracy theory, trends on Twitter. (Published 2020) excerpt: "Mr. Harris did not respond. When asked for comment, Mr. Fletcher said: “Sidney Powell is a brilliant woman… When ‘the kraken’ is released America will remember who sought the truth and who asked no questions.”"
‘House of Trump is crumbling’: why ex-president’s legal net is tightening excerpt: "O’Brien also has a personal stake in this story. His book TrumpNation, a 2005 biography that raised doubts about Trump’s actual wealth in eerily similar terms to the James and Bragg investigations today, so irked the real estate developer that he sued O’Brien for billions of dollars. O’Brien’s lawyers deposed Trump as part of his defense. Over two days they managed to do something that has rarely been done before or since – they got the celebrity to acknowledge, no fewer than 30 times, that he had lied. “My lawyers were so well prepared that when he sat down for the deposition we had documentary evidence at hand that showed the reality of what he had lied about or exaggerated. We simply pushed those over the table at him,” O’Brien recalled. Many of the misleading elements – the value of his golf clubs, real estate assets in New York – were virtually identical to the details contained in this week’s filing. Which is why O’Brien feels confident in saying that the patterns that James outlines in her court document extend far back. “This is behaviour that Trump has been engaging with since he was a toddler, frankly,” O’Brien said."
Trump mulls endorsing multiple GOP candidates per mid-term race to increase chances that his picks win, Politico report says excerpt: "Former President Donald Trump is weighing up up endorsing rival candidates in individual mid-term races to maximise his chances of backing the winner, sources close to Trump told Politico. According to the report, the move is prompted by Trump's mistrust of his advisors pushing him to endorse various candidates across the US. The move would increase the mathematical probability of Trump-endorsed candidates winning, but could also dilute the power of his endorsement. It would also guarantee that some Trump picks would lose. "He feels like he's being penned in," a person close to Trump told Politico. He explained Trump's view as "I get two chances to win.""
