Analysis: Supreme Court ruling is a bitter legal and personal blow to Trump - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"The Supreme Court ruling was the second legal blow to Trump in as many days. In a late-night court filing on Tuesday, New York Attorney General Letitia James said her office had uncovered "misleading or fraudulent" financial statements from Trump's business empire. She is seeking to compel testimony from Trump, Trump Jr. and the ex-President's daughter Ivanka Trump as part of her civil investigation into the Trump Organization.

The former President has denied wrongdoing, and a spokesperson for the Trump Organization said in a statement that the "allegations are baseless and will be vigorously defended."

The gathering clouds around Trump would represent a grave legal and reputational risk to a normal politician, but given his talent for impunity, it's far from certain that they will slow his political aspirations."

The incidents of forged electoral slates are being turned over the prosecutors in various states.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/inve...7e3698-7587-11ec-8b0a-bcfab800c430_story.html

    excerpt:

"Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D), who referred the matter to federal prosecutors, last week said that submitting the electoral certificates to historical archives and government officials turned what might have been a political event into a “an open-and-shut case of forgery of a public record.”

“This is not political theater. It‘s not protected speech,” Nessel said in an interview. “It’s an attack on the very fabric of our system of government. And so it deserves to have federal prosecutorial and investigative scrutiny.”

A spokesman for the Michigan Republican Party, Gustavo Portela, accused Nessel of “playing political games.”

New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas said this week that he, too, had referred the matter to federal prosecutors, while his counterpart in Wisconsin — fellow Democrat Josh Kaul — said he believed the federal government should investigate any unlawful act that furthered “seditious conspiracy.”

Giuliani did not respond to messages from The Post seeking comment. A spokesman for Trump also did not respond.

Ellis declined to comment on her role in the Trump elector plan. She did not respond to a request for comment about the subpoena."

GOP spokesman Portela is accusing Democrats of playing political games because they are referring the matter of GOP-perpetrated fake electoral slates to prosecutors for investigation, forged fake slates that the GOP would like to portray as nothing more than innocent little GOP horseplay while accusing Democrats of engaging in horseplay for being concerned about the GOP's attack on democracy.

Fulton County DA requests special grand jury to probe Trump's election interference - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"A Georgia district attorney investigating former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state has requested a special grand jury to gather evidence and compel witnesses to testify in relation to her probe.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis wrote that her office has "received information indicating a reasonable probability that the State of Georgia's administration of elections in 2020, including the State's election of President of the United States, was subject to possible criminal disruptions," according to a letter sent to Christopher Brasher, chief judge of Fulton County's Superior Court, and provided by the court.

Willis has asked for the grand jury to begin in May and remain in place for no longer than 12 months."

If they did (and they almost did with Pence and members of Congress nearly being injured or killed during the insurrection), the GOP would try to pass it off as just a little horseplay-murder-sedition that the Democrats are using to play political games.

Opinion: Trump documents allegedly claimed his apartment was nearly three times larger than it is - CNN

    excerpt:

"Among the most noteworthy examples of these practices cited by James is the treatment by Trump's financial documents of his penthouse in Manhattan. The apartment is large -- almost 11,000 square feet -- but, according to the state's filing, Trump documents indicated it was 30,000 square feet and thus worth a whopping $327 million. When questioned, former Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg said the figure was an overstatement, "give or take" $200 million.

Higher valuations permit a borrower to seek more funds from lenders and at better terms. But, in Trump's case, exaggeration is seemingly a pattern of practice: Nearly tripling the size of his home with mere words is also consistent with his way of insisting the world conform to his preferences.
Thus, he had to insist his 2016 inaugural crowd, which at best numbered 600,000, was 1.5 million. Similarly, he has claimed his Trump Tower in Manhattan has 10 more stories than it does, and, after Anthony Fauci threw the first pitch at a Nationals game in Washington, DC, he falsely claimed the Yankees had asked him to do the same in the Bronx."

There's something else Trump has that he mistakenly thinks is three times larger than it really is.

The day, week, month, and year isn't over yet.

I saw Trump throw a no hitter at the '82 world series, and in the '87 Superbowl he ran for 500 yards, and threw ten touchdown passes. The fake news media didn't report it.

OAN and Giuliani involvedf in fake electors scheme.

OAN Anchor Assisted Rudy Giuliani on Trump Fake Elector Stunt

    excerpt:

"One America News anchor Christina Bobb assisted Rudy Giuliani on the Trump campaign’s outlandish plan to submit rival Republican elector slates to affirm then-President Donald Trump’s victory in five states President Joe Biden won, according to The Washington Post.

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol attack are now focusing heavily on the origins of the rival Trump electors, seeing if it was all part of an orchestrated campaign assembled by the Trump team.

While the operation was conducted in plain sight in Dec. 2020, and cited by right-wing media and campaign officials at the time as necessary for Trump’s legal efforts, the behind-the-scenes operation led by Giuliani is now gathering attention.

“The campaign scrambled to help electors gain access to Capitol buildings, as is required in some states, and to distribute draft language for the certificates that would later be submitted to Congress, according to the former campaign officials and party leaders,” the Post reported. “The campaign also worked to find replacements for the electors who were unable to participate, or unwilling.”"

The sky is the limit for such schemes. Stealing certificate templates. Giving unauthorized Capitol building access to imposters (similar to what TIne Peters did in Colorado). Bribing authentic electors. Pressure campaigns on them (like what Trump did to Raffensperger). Threatening electors. Causing them to be involved in 'accidents'. Blocking their entry to and operations in state Capitol buildings (like Trump's insurrection at the Capitol).

Spokespeople for the GOP will dismiss it as horseplay stunts that shouldn't concern anyone.

And, of course, use shadow-government figures like Giuliani who weren't official members of the Trump administration to shield themselves from scrutiny by invoking attorney-client privilege and later invoking executive privilege to conceal operations involving people who weren't even part of the executive branch.

I still wonder what Trumph had on Rudy to compell him to trash his reputation, career and legacy on the asinine horseshit he tried to pull.
