"Eric Trump reportedly invoked his Fifth Amendment rights five hundred times when investigators from the New York Attorney General’s Office interviewed him in October 2020.

Below are five of the biggest allegations

Eric Trump invoked his Fifth Amendment rights 500 times

The report detailed that when Eric Trump, the former president’s second son and his youngest from his first marriage to Ivana Trump, was examined, he only delivered extended prepared remarks objecting to the investigation and invoking the amendment to the US Constitution that defends against self-incrimination."

In Rebuke to Trump, Supreme Court Won’t Block Release of Jan. 6 Files

    excerpt:

"“Because the court of appeals concluded that President Trump’s claims would have failed even if he were the incumbent, his status as a former president necessarily made no difference to the court’s decision,” the order said.

Within hours of the decision, the National Archives turned the documents over to the committee.

Representative Bennie Thompson, Democrat of Mississippi and the chairman of the committee, and Representative Liz Cheney, Republican of Wyoming and the vice chairwoman, called the decision “a victory for the rule of law and American democracy.”

“Our work goes forward to uncover all the facts about the violence of Jan. 6 and its causes,” they said.

It was the latest example of a case in which the Supreme Court, which includes three justices appointed by Mr. Trump, ruled against him and his allies on issues related to the 2020 election."

In Rebuke to Trump, Supreme Court Allows Release of Jan. 6 Files

    excerpt:

"Judge Millett wrote that the House committee had a legitimate need for the documents.

“There would seem to be few, if any, more imperative interests squarely within Congress’s wheelhouse than ensuring the safe and uninterrupted conduct of its constitutionally assigned business,” she wrote. “Here, the House of Representatives is investigating the single most deadly attack on the Capitol by domestic forces in the history of the United States.”"

It's a shame for Trump that he didn't stop the riot when he had the chance.

As usual for him, the ego gratification he garnered from watching the riot unfold was more important to him at the time than the damage it would do to him later.

Another example is his last-moment canceling of the military flight for Pelosi and the bipartisan Congressional delegation to visit U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Trump chose ego gratification by retaliating against Pelosi for not wanting to conduct the State of the Union Address during the government shutdown that Trump caused at the expense of further damaging his vote from military people, which was another factor that contributed to his 2020 election loss.

Two New England women busted for rioting at Capitol.

    Former friend notified FBI.

Capitol riot suspect arrested after a former friend told the FBI she showed off a video of her breaking a window during the insurrection

    excerpt:

"Two New England women were arrested this week in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot — including one whose former friend told the FBI that the suspect showed off a video of herself breaking a window during the insurrection, authorities said.

Kirstyn Niemela of New Hampshire and Stefanie Chiguer of Massachusetts were apprehended by the FBI's Boston Joint Terrorism Task Force, the FBI said on Tuesday.

According to prosecutors, both women were captured on security camera video footage inside of the Capitol building on the day of the insurrection.

The pair were arrested after the FBI received a tip from a former friend of Niemela's in June who told investigators that Niemela admitted she was in Washington DC on January 6, 2021, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court."

Trump held secret meetings in days before Capitol attack, ex-press secretary tells panel

The former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham told the House select committee investigating the Capitol attack that Donald Trump hosted secret meetings in the White House residence in days before 6 January, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

The secret meetings were apparently known by only a small number of aides, the sources said. Grisham recounted that they were mostly scheduled by Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and that the former chief usher, Timothy Harleth, would wave participants upstairs, the sources said.

Harleth, the former director of rooms at the Trump International Hotel before moving with the Trumps to the White House in 2017, was once one of the former first family’s most trusted employees, according to a top former White House aide to Melania Trump.

Trump made several phone calls from the Yellow Oval Room and elsewhere in the White House residence to lieutenants at the Willard hotel in Washington the night before the Capitol attack, telling them to stop Joe Biden’s certification.

Grisham also told The Committee that Trump and Meadows gave instructions which were memorialized to the secret service that informed them Trump would march to the capitol with the protestors. That sure sounds like INTENT to me!

    Trump secret meetings leaked.

Details of Trump’s ‘secret meetings’ before 6 January emerge - latest

    excerpt:

"Former President Donald Trump held secret meetings in the run-up to the 6 January attack on the Capitol, according to his former press secretary.

Stephanie Grisham told the House select committee investigating the insurrection that the then-president met with people in ‘off-the-books’ rendezvous that only a small number of aides were made aware of, according to reports.

Ms Grisham, who resigned from her role as Melania Trump’s chief of staff in the wake of the violent riots, said she was not able to provide details of who Mr Trump held the secret meetings with, but reportedly provided the committee with the names of his then-aides who might know."

Analysis: Supreme Court ruling is a bitter legal and personal blow to Trump - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"Trump's lawyers had asked the Supreme Court for a full review of the case, citing important issues of privilege that will reverberate through history. But the committee made a request for an expedited review just before Christmas, citing the urgency of its investigation. The ruling closes off one avenue of Trump's legal strategy: running out the clock on the investigation before November's midterm elections and a possible GOP takeover of the House.

Net tightens around Trump West Wing

The Supreme Court's ruling will play into an intense debate over efforts by former Trump aides to assert executive privilege in order to avoid testifying to the committee. Some of those claims are especially unusual and, according to many legal experts, frivolous because they cover conversations between officials and outsiders, rather than with the then-President.

Wednesday's ruling, in which only conservative Justice Clarence Thomas signaled dissent, will also offer a new mark of legitimacy to the select committee, amid claims by pro-Trump Republicans that it is an illegally constituted witch hunt despite being voted into being by the House. It will also boost the committee's race against time as it tries to complete its work before a possible new Republican majority shuts it down."
