Let’s hope for the best- that they actually DO try to annihilate each other. Less dipshits to deal with!
Voters may no longer have an active driver license (that they had originally used to register to vote) due to health issues and may have switched to a state ID that is not considered a valid ID to request a ballot. Such a situation will squelch the vote of older and disabled people. College students face similar ID issues stemming from their mobile residency. It's a problem in states even where selective squelching of voters isn't being done deliberately like it is in Texas.
Supremacy groups are interested in their own supremacy, not the supremacy of other like-minded groups. They may try to use another like-minded group initially to gain power, but once in power they will suppress the other group. Comedy portrays this attribute well. Moe of the Three Stooges played Hitler in an episode. While various leaders of a World War II 'peace' conference were physically fighting in the room, Moe offered a handshake of peace to the leader of Japan while saying, "Let those others fight. You and I will share the world." When they shook hands, Moe used the handshake to body flip the Japanese leader to the floor and said, "That's how much you can trust me!"
Another example of nefariously using other groups is Archie Bunker who felt pressure to offer memberships of his 'Kings of Queens' club to minorities to comply with equal opportunity rules but without wanting them physically in the club. Archie gave an application to a black man and showed him all the club events that he didn't have to attend (like Trump putting Blacks For Trump t-shirts on blacks for his rallies to garner votes but not wanting them in his Mar-a-Lago club). The black man accepted and, to the chagrin of Archie, said he would tell all his black friends to join and attend the events. He also said that they might even change the name to the 'Kings of Queens of Spades'.
Giuliani subpoenaed in Jan. 6 riot probe. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/01/18/rud...llies-subpoenaed-in-january-6-riot-probe.html excerpt: "The subpoenas add to a raft of demands for interviews and evidence that the House panel has already issued to people in Trump’s orbit, a number of whom have resisted cooperating. The committee said that the new subpoenas were aimed at “four individuals who publicly promoted unsupported claims about the 2020 election and participated in attempts to disrupt or delay the certification of election results.” The Jan. 6, 2021, invasion of the Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters was the culmination of his claim that he had actually won the election. Giuliani had led efforts for Trump after the election to challenge results in individual states that showed President Joe Biden had won. Giuliani’s law license was suspended in New York and Washington, D.C., for what a disciplinary panel in New York called his “false and misleading statements” about the election results."
Giuliani has made statements in July 2021 that he would promptly have his law license restored in NY and DC.
McCarthy made statements in July 2021 that he and the GOP would conduct their own Jan. 6 riot investigation to find out what 'really' happened. "crickets chirping"
This will be interesting to see, especially if he cooperates. Motormouth Giuliani who endlessly rambles on and on, simultaneously putting his foot in his mouth (and up his own ass)- I really want to see him testify before the committee- Shitshow King himself!!
McCarthy doesn't want to talk to the Jan. 6 committee about his shouting match with Trump during the riot as the windows of his office at the Capitol were being smashed by Trump's rioters. . Article from February 2021. New details about Trump-McCarthy shouting match show Trump refused to call off the rioters - CNNPolitics excerpt: "In an expletive-laced phone call with House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy while the US Capitol was under attack, then-President Donald Trump said the rioters cared more about the election results than McCarthy did. "Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are," Trump said, according to lawmakers who were briefed on the call afterward by McCarthy. McCarthy insisted that the rioters were Trump's supporters and begged Trump to call them off. Trump's comment set off what Republican lawmakers familiar with the call described as a shouting match between the two men. A furious McCarthy told the then-President the rioters were breaking into his office through the windows, and asked Trump, "Who the f--k do you think you are talking to?" according to a Republican lawmaker familiar with the call. The newly revealed details of the call, described to CNN by multiple Republicans briefed on it, provide critical insight into the President's state of mind as rioters were overrunning the Capitol. The existence of the call and some of its details were first reported by Punchbowl News and discussed publicly by McCarthy. The Republican members of Congress said the exchange showed Trump had no intention of calling off the rioters even as lawmakers were pleading with him to intervene. Several said it amounted to a dereliction of his presidential duty."
That's saying it mildly. Trump was deliberately complicit for three hours during a violent riot as a way of trying to coerce members of Congress to overthrow the election. Trump is the type who would allow McCarthy to be physically held hostage by his rioters at gunpoint for his ransom demand of overturning the election. Remarkably, McCarthy, like Graham, returned to kissing Trump's ring.
Not to be outdone by Trump loyalists, Pence has been talking like the riot at the Capitol was just a minor scratch on what was otherwise a perfect Trump presidency to which he contributed. Pence sounds like he also had his brain waxed after it was washed.
Interesting that McCarthy called Trump to stop the riot, not Pelosi. McCarthy has been talking that Pelosi was the one responsible for not stopping the riot.
To make my point let me use an analogy. In 1987 President Ronald Reagan delivered an address to the United Nations in which he said “I occasionally think how quickly our differences would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world.” Sure these groups hate each other but for now they have a common threat, and that threat is human decency and democracy, so at least for a while they're willing to tolerate each other. Sure they'll eventually end up cutting each others throats, but only after they've achieved their objective.
