Someone produced forged documents that declared Trump and Pence the winners of the 2020 election in MI and AZ. Jan. 6 panel ramps up investigation into Trump's state-level pressure excerpt: "Forged election documents in Michigan and Arizona As Trump's team pushed its discredited voter fraud narrative, the National Archives received forged certificates of ascertainment declaring him and then-Vice President Mike Pence the winners of both Michigan and Arizona and their electors after the 2020 election. Public records requests show the secretaries of state for those states sent those certificates to the Jan. 6 panel, along with correspondence between the National Archives and state officials about the documents. Spokespeople for the Michigan and Arizona secretaries of state declined to comment on the documents. The offices confirmed that Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, both Democrats, and their staff met with the panel in November."
Jan. 6 panel ramps up investigation into Trump's state-level pressure excerpt: "The National Archives sent emails to the Arizona secretary of state on Dec. 11, 2020, passing along the forged certificates “for your awareness” and informing the state officials the Archives would not accept them. Arizona then took legal action against at least one of the groups who sent in the fake documents, sending a cease and desist letter to a pro-Trump "sovereign citizen" group telling them to stop using the state seal and referring the matter to the state attorney general. “By affixing the state seal to documents containing false and misleading information about the results of Arizona’s November 3, 2020 General Election, you undermine the confidence in our democratic institutions,” Hobbs wrote to one of the pro-Trump groups. That group’s leader, Lori Osiecki, had told the Arizona Republic in December 2020 that she decided to send in the certificates after taking part in post-election rallies and after attending a daylong meeting in Phoenix that had included Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani."
Each of those individuals who signed their names to those documents should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They violated both state and federal election laws
Trump praises fringe right-wing group that claims FBI planned Capitol riot. Trump praises right-wing site that helped to seed the conspiracy theory that the FBI is to blame for the Capitol riot excerpt: "Former President Donald Trump praised a right-wing website that helped promote the baseless conspiracy theory that the FBI instigated the violence in the Capitol riot. In a statement Sunday, Trump praised Revolver News, which has for months been pushing the conspiracy theory. It is run by Darren Beattie, who worked as a speechwriter in his administration. "Congratulations to Darren Beattie and Revolver News who have exposed so much of the Fake News' false narrative about January 6th. Because of Darren's work, and others, Americans aren't buying into the Unselect Committee's attempts to smear 75 million (plus!) Americans. The newly minted term 'Fedsurrection,' was even trending!" wrote Trump."
I thought you could go to jail for falsifying documents- and here we have blatant, upper level fraud and corruption, and the only thing that was done was “cease and desist” notification was sent out to the perpetrators- that’s it?? Sickening.
There he goes again, putting other folks in between him and his shenanigans. I don’t think he realizes he doesn’t still have 75 million supporters anymore, though.
Trump has become increasing narrow and fringe, particularly since his 2020 election loss, similar to his cohorts Lindell, Giuliani, Powell, Flynn, and Wood who have descended into idioacy. Three years are remaining until the next presidential election, raising the question of what his mental state will be in 2024 if he continues on this path.
Trump already attacked Thune, South Dakota's other GOP U.S.senator. After Rounds recently making statements not agreeing with Trump's election lies, Trump will be against both. Donald Trump attacks GOP South Dakota senator in one of his first tweets of 2021
Trump apparently was upset about Thune acknowledging Biden's victory. Donald Trump attacks GOP South Dakota senator in one of his first tweets of 2021 excerpt: "Trump's motivation for criticizing Senate Republican Whip Thune on Friday was unclear, but this isn't the first time the president has voiced his displeasure about him on Twitter. On December 22, the president tweeted: "Republicans in the Senate so quickly forget. Right now they would be down 8 seats without my backing them in the last Election. RINO John Thune, 'Mitch's boy', should just let it play out. South Dakota doesn't like weakness. He will be primaried in 2022, political career over!!!" That message appeared to come in response to Thune recently acknowledging President-elect Joe Biden's victory. On December 21, Thune, while speaking with reporters, remarked that he did not know of any senators who would join House Republicans in challenging Biden's victory when Congress convenes on January 6 to count certificates of electoral vote."
Thune and Rounds have been U.S. senators in SD for multiple terms, long before Trump became president. Trump talks like their elections weren't possible without him. He threatened Thune in 2021 by saying he would primary him out of existence (for not being willing to object to Biden's win during the Jan. 6 meeting of members of Congress to certify Biden's win).
