Wow, now the January 6 committee wants to speak to Mike Pence. I just mentioned this a few days ago….
Makes sense to me, and I can’t wait to see if he complies or acts like a complete ass.

Partial list of officials who refused to go along with Trump's election lies:

Mike Pence (said he didn't have Constitutional authority to single-handedly reject electoral results)

Chris Krebs (Trump's cyber-security chief whom Trump fired after the election for not agreeing with him)

Brad Raffensperger (refused to 'find' 11,780 votes for Trump)

Doug Ducey (governor of AZ) turned off his ringer when Trump called him to try to force him to not sign the certification of AZ election

Shirkey and Chatfield (refused to overturn the MI election in spite of Trump pampering them at his DC hotel with $600 per bottle wine)

AG Bill Barr (refused to declare widespread election fraud and resigned before Christmas)

Jeff Rosen (Barr's acting successor) and various members of the DOJ (threatened to resign en masse like Nixon's Saturday Night Massacre)

Chad Wolf (acting secretary of Homeland security who refused to seize voting machines)

Numerous federal judges (some Trump-appointed) who decided against Trump's election cases

The Pentagon (stated publicly it wouldn't become involved in seizing elections, a proposition made by the convicted and Trump-pardoned Flynn)

The U.S. Supreme Court with its 6-3 conservative majority and three members appointed by Trump

In spite of all that, Trump still thinks he is right because all of the election results (selectively the ones he lost) in his perception don't pass the smell test.

What Trump and all his followers don't (or won't) get is that he wasn't elected because he was Donald Trump. He was elected because he wasn't Hilary Clinton.

I voted for Hilary, but if Bernie had got the nomination I probably would not have voted. And I've only ever sat out one Presidential election since I was able to vote. (Obama's first term. Could not in good conscience vote for him as I didn't know enough about him. Was leaning toward voting for McCain....until he picked Palin as his running mate.)

I know people who voted for Trump the first time around who regretted it and voted for Biden in this last election, but sadly I know more Trumphards who voted for him both times, and some still refuse to admit he lost.

Former Trump advisor to face trial in September.

Tom Barrack: Former Trump adviser's trial set for September - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"A federal judge set the foreign lobbying trial for Tom Barrack, a former adviser to then-President Donald Trump, for September.

During a remote hearing Wednesday, Judge Brian Cogan said jury selection would begin on September 7 with the trial to start soon after. Prosecutors estimated the trial could take three weeks.

Barrack and Matthew Grimes, his former assistant, were indicted in July on allegations they were acting as a back channel for the United Arab Emirates to influence US policy during Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and his time in office. They have pleaded not guilty.

Lawyers for Barrack and Grimes said they will file motions to dismiss the indictment by the end of the month."

Abbott hasn't offered a justification for why he is so against the vaccine for coronavirus yet doesn't seem bothered by all the other vaccines that people in the military receive.

'He Is Not Your Commander-in-Chief:' Texas Governor Promises Guardsmen He'll Fight Biden Over Vaccine Mandate

    excerpt:

"Abbott's letter did not take issue with the dozen-plus other vaccines Guardsmen – and all other service members – are ordered to receive, including vaccinations against hepatitis and smallpox and annual flu shots. He does concede Biden has the authority to require vaccines for Guardsmen on federal orders.

"I cannot guarantee that the judiciary will grant the relief you deserve," Abbott added. "And if President Biden lawfully calls you into the actual service of the United States, then he could order you to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in his newfound role as your commander-in-chief."

Abbott's threat, which does not include an actual lawsuit yet, comes a week after Judge Stephen Friot from the Western District of Oklahoma threw out Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt's suit against the Biden administration challenging the vaccine mandate."

Trump sends incendiary message on eve of Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

'MAGA nation should rise up': Trump sends out incendiary message to followers on eve of Capitol riot anniversary

    excerpt:

"Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday called on his supporters to "rise up" on the eve of the anniversary of the riots he incited at the United States Capitol building.

Via Roll Call editor John Bennett, Trump put out a press release that falsely accused the Biden administration of calling for vaccine mandates for children and for closing schools to deal with the novel coronavirus pandemic.

"This is an outrage, and MAGA nation should rise up and oppose this egregious federal government overreach," Trump wrote.

As Bennett notes, this statement, which was also reported by ABC News' Will Steakin, is sure to raise eyebrows given that it comes near the anniversary of when his supporters did "rise up" to start a deadly riot at the Capitol.

"Very poor taste by the former president to urge his supporters to 'rise up' on the day before the anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot by a MAGA mob," he commented."

REVEALED: Louie Gohmert's violent rhetoric was flagged by Capitol police 3 days before insurrection

    excerpt:

"Three days before the Jan. 6 insurrection, Capitol police intelligence analysts warned of potential danger stemming from comments made by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX).

The warning was part of a Special Event Assessment dated Jan. 3, 2021 — analyzing threats associated with Congress' impending vote on the certification of electoral votes on Jan. 6.

Politico's Betsy Woodruff Swan, who obtained a copy of the Special Event Assessment, reported Wednesday: "The Jan. 3 assessment noted that Gohmert had sued to try to get then-Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the election results. The assessment added that a federal judge had thrown out Gohmert’s suit."

Capitol police analysts wrote in the intelligence assessment: “In an interview Friday evening on pro-Trump news network Newsmax, Representative Gohmert claimed that letting the will of the voters stand would ‘mean the end of our republic, the end of the experiment in self-government. Representative Gohmert then seemed to encourage violence as a means to this end. ‘But bottom line is, the court is saying, ‘We’re not going to touch this. You have no remedy – basically, in effect, the ruling would be that you gotta go to the streets and be as violent as Antifa and BLM.’”"

Jan. 6 committee subpoenas Lindell's phone records.

Jan. 6 committee subpoenas MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell's phone records

    excerpt:

"Lindell’s attorneys characterize his activities related to the 2020 election, in which he has repeatedly promoted unfounded claims of election fraud in support of former President Donald Trump, as “motivated, in part, by his strongly held religious beliefs.” Enforcing the subpoena would violate Lindell’s rights to “freedom of religion, speech, press, political expression, and to associate with others to advance their shared beliefs,” his attorneys wrote.

According to the suit, Lindell “has no involvement whatsoever” in the Jan. 6 attack. Lindell had been a vigorous defender of Trump during the 2020 election and in its aftermath, and he was seen at the White House even after the Jan. 6 attack with a paper with the words “insurrection act” and “martial law if necessary” on it."

On Tuesday when Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings slammed Gov. Ron DeSantis’s handling of Florida's recent COVID-19 outbreak,
most people assumed the Gov. was just ignoring the issue and hoping it would go away, but now it appears Ron DeSantis may have Covid-19

Listen to him struggle to breathe in his speech.
