Eldest Trump children won't comply with subpoenas from New York attorney general

    excerpt:

"Former President Trump’s eldest son and daughter have refused to comply with subpoenas issued by the New York State attorney general’s office as it conducts a civil investigation into the way the family real estate business valued its holdings.

“A dispute has arisen between the OAG and the Individual Trump Parties regarding the Subpoenas,” a document filed Monday said.

The document, filed jointly by New York Attorney General Letitia James and an attorney for the Trump Organization, said Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump will now be named as respondents in James’ ongoing inquiry, which parallels a criminal investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office."

'Seditious conspiracy charges in play' for Trump after damning House committee revelations: former US attorney

    excerpt:

"No, I think there are current laws on the books that could be applied there," McQuade began. "I don't know that negligence alone is going to be enough, but as Congresswoman Cheney has recited on occasion, there is a crime making it illegal to corruptly impede or obstruct an official proceeding, which includes proceedings before Congress. If he [Trump] had the power to stop that riot from happening and to permit the vote to go forward, his failure to do that could be that effort to corruptly obstruct the official proceeding. It may be, you know."

She continued, "We've got this 187 minutes when he sat and did nothing despite the fact that he knew that this violence and destruction was occurring. Is it because it was all part of a larger plan? So I think, in addition to that obstruction statute that Congresswoman Cheney has mentioned, I think we could also look at conspiracy to defraud the United States -- that just means trying to impede the normal functioning of government -- all the way up to seditious conspiracy. I think all of those potential crimes are in play."

Ashli Babbitt, portrayed as a peaceful rioter, rammed her car repeatedly into her future-husband's girlfriend.

In a similar vein, she tried to climb through the smashed window of a barricaded door into the lobby of the House chamber where members of Congress were seen being evacuated.

IMHO - Part of trump's strategy to pull off a coup was to order the secret service to escort the VP off Capitol grounds so he couldn't certify the votes

So, do you think Pence was part of the whole plan, to a certain degree? Maybe he should be subpoenaed to testify as well.

If Pence really did refuse to enter the SS vehicle, it's understandable.

In Pence's mind, during the confusion of the riot, Trump (or someone else) could have had booby traps prepared for Pence to keep him away from the Capitol so that he couldn't certify Biden's win.

The SS car would have been even more suspicious if Trump had called Pence and said, "Don't worry, Mike. I'll get you to safety!"

The riot was a major national security risk caused by Trump sitting for three hours and doing nothing while a riot raged.

Although Trump's rioters were obviously a threat, other such nefarious people and groups, including adversaries overseas (often the same ones Trump deems to be his buddies), could have taken advantage of those three hours of confusion.

The four most powerful government officials in the country, Trump, Pence, the Speaker of the House, and Senate Pro Tem were essentially missing for hours during the riot. It raises the question as to who could have run the country if even more nefarious elements had taken advantage of the mayhem.

The Secretary of State is fifth in line. In that case Mike Pompeo. That would have been a disaster.

Ashli Babbitt was involved in a threesome at the time of the Capitol riot. She was living with her husband and a 21-year-old woman. Babbitt was in her mid-30's..

It's an unexpected living arrangement, considering she angrily rammed the car of her future husband's girlfriend a couple years earlier.

As a side note story, a documentary about the Bullwinkle cartoon featured its creator Jay Ward and a strange incident at the White House gate during troubled times.

Ward was on a farcical PR campaign for weeks to make 'Moose Island' in Minnesota a state called Moosylvania..

He and a PR agent toured the country in a colorful van that was played circus music. Near the end, they tried to visit the White House as part of the stunt.

A guard at the gate told to him to turn around and leave. As Ward argued with him, the guard became concerned and started to unholster his gun. Ward turned around and drove away.

When Ward returned home, he read the news and found out that, unbeknownst to him at the time, the Cuba missile crisis was reaching a peak..

The Ward incident shows the need to be suspicious of anyone who might be trying to take advantage of an already confusing and threatening situation, including one that involves Moose Island.

Even the threat of nuclear war wouldn't stop Bullwinkle creator Jay Ward from his mission.

Trump's rioters intentionally added to the confusion by tearing off ID badges of reporters and staffers inside the Capitol. It made it difficult for them to seek shelter with members of Congress because police couldn't identify them without the badges.

It also created a situation where someone could use the badges to impersonate them, although that was fairly unlikely considering the physical appearance of Trump's rioters.

One of the female journalists said that she had her badge torn off by a Trump rioter and was nearly prohibited from going into a shelter area with the members of Congress. Some of the people recognized her and police allowed her inside.

I believe that is the eventual intent of the January 6th Committee.

The VPs refusal to leave foiled Trump's plans.
