He wouldn't even look at me - older guy from the middle east I guessed, but not friendly at all. Anyway... I had paid and another dude walked in - African American, tallish and buff, but also heavy/chunky... and the clerk goes, "can I help you??". WTF! The African American guy, young, politely states aloud, "I just wanted to get something to drink...". I tried to help him shrug it off, but he was visibly offended; rightfully. I laughed out loud, and told him I had been trying to talk to that dude, explaining that I was asking him about thanksgiving and where he had come from. But it didn't really help - I hope it softened the blow or provided a little bit of comfort. WEiRd!
