Buckminster Fuller! What a character... Originally conceived as a hybrid flying car that could also go on the highway... I like the very groovy style. There is a picture of Diego Rivera getting onto one somewhere... it was a sensation at the time, but only three were made and one survived.
It was also based on the design of a popular rocket ship Certainly at the time they believed by 2021 everyone would have one parked in their backyard launching pad capable of traversing the stars with destinations such as the Moon, Mars, and Venus...lol...
1966 AMC Ambassador 880. The one that I had , had a 327 cubic inch engine. A Holly 4 barrel carburetor. And a 4 speed automatic Transmission . All factory. The car that I had I put wider tires on the back because the factory tires would do burn outs too easy. This car was a true sleeper. Doing some illegal street racing with it I only had one race that I did not win. But it was a close call at the very end. Everyone thought I was crazy wanting to race . Till I left them behind. That is the one car that I truly wish I still had. It was a nice family car that had balls !!!
A chemical fire truck. There was no water tanks- No pumps on it. You mixed two chemicals together at the fire ground and it would pressurize the tank and that is what was used to put out the fire.. If you did not get the fire out on the first try, In most cases you had to go back to the fire house to recharge the tank. And by then ..... well most of the time you ended up putting out the hot spots because that is all that was left. Needless to say these types of fire trucks did not stay in use for long.
