Donald Trump Cashed In On Jan. 6 Riot Furor, Records Show

    excerpt:

"Former President Donald Trump has been accused of inciting the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, and it appears he also profited from it, according to records examined by Forbes magazine.

As Trump touted the coming gathering of his supporters — at one point last December tweeting: “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” — the price of the least expensive rooms in his Washington hotel zoomed from $476 to $1,999. Just over a week later, prices hit $3,600 — and eventually reached an astonishing $8,000 on Jan. 6, Forbes reported.

In-room dining also hit record highs, according to the hotel’s director."

Colorado man sentenced for role in Capitol riots | 9news.com

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — A Colorado Springs man who pleaded guilty in August to a charge related to the failed insurrection at U.S. Capitol was sentenced Friday to 14 days in a community corrections facility and three years probation.

"I am sorry," Glenn Wes Lee Croy told the court Friday. "Foolishly, I walked into that building."

He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of parading inside the Capitol in August following his arrest in February when he originally faced the following charges:
    • Unlawful entry on restricted buildings or grounds
    • Violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds"

He's sorry he walked into the building... I'm not seeing where he's being sorry about the violent part.

These people marched into the US capitol building and tried to overthrow the US Government but instead of spending decades in a federal penitentiary for inciting a coup d'état they're being wet-nursed by federal prosecutors and Judges.

There's at least one judge U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan who has the guts to call out prosecutors and other judges and who has stated "even people who were not violent should face consequences for joining the unprecedented assault" but she's in the minority. 30 days in jail, 45 days in jail, what a joke.

Donald Trump beats Joe Biden in latest 2024 election poll

    excerpt:

"Although former President Donald Trump has not formally announced plans to run for reelection in 2024, new polling suggests he is well-positioned for a rematch against President Joe Biden and could even come out as the winner.

The poll released Friday by Emerson College shows Trump narrowly beating Biden in a hypothetical matchup. While neither Trump nor Biden is backed by the majority of voters, the former president is currently 2 points ahead of the current president.

Trump is supported by 45 percent of registered voters while Biden is backed by just 43 percent, the latest Emerson survey data shows. Meanwhile, 11 percent of registered voters said they want to vote for "someone else," and just 1 percent said they remain "undecided."

Emerson's new poll was conducted from November 3 to 4 with a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Notably, the gap between Trump and Biden has widened a bit since Emerson carried out a similar poll in early September. That previous survey showed Trump leading Biden by just 1 percentage point. However, both the Republican and Democrat were supported by a larger number of registered voters at the time."

House Jan. 6 Committee to Subpoena Trump Lieutenants From D.C. ‘Command Center:’ Report

    excerpt:

"The House committee on the Capitol riot is likely to issue subpoenas to the slew of associates of Donald Trump who operated together out of a so-called “command center” at a D.C. hotel on Jan. 6, The Guardian reports. On the select committee’s target list are roughly 20 people, among them John Eastman, the author of a controversial legal memo on how Mike Pence could keep Trump in the presidency. The subpoenas are aimed at gathering material on legal advice Trump received the day of the attempted insurrection as well as any advance knowledge of the mob’s attack on the Capitol. Steve Bannon and Rudy Giuliani were also at the hotel. On Friday, former Justice Department attorney Jeffrey Clark refused to answer the panel’s questions, defying a subpoena. While working at the DOJ under Trump, Clark promised to investigate the former president’s spurious claims of election fraud and attempted to marshal the DOJ’s legal powers to do so, according to a Senate report."

‘When do we get to use the guns?’ Good question, says Nampa Republican Rep. Ben Adams

    excerpt:

"According to a Washington Post analysis, 2020 was the worst year in at least a quarter-century for incidents of domestic terrorism. Since 2015, 267 attacks were launched by far-right extremists and white supremacists. Attacks motivated by far-left ideologies have increased as well, but total only 66 incidents.

It is not yet clear whether the shooting at Boise Towne Square will be counted as an incident of political violence. The shooter, Jacob Bergquist, was a far-right gun rights activist who espoused white supremacist views. We will have to wait for the police investigation to finish before we learn definitively whether those views drove him to his shooting spree.

Here’s what’s frightening: Within hours of Bergquist’s shooting, a man was asking when he could start murdering political opponents. And soon after, a member of the Legislature’s far-right wing said that’s a good question to ask, rather than rebuking him."

The campaign to oust GOP members who voted to impeach Trump has expanded to those who voted for the infrastructure package.

"Must be eliminated": Trump Republicans vow to oust GOP members who voted for infrastructure

    excerpt:

"Republicans closely aligned with former President Donald Trump have threatened to oust the GOP House members who broke with their party to help Democrats pass President Joe Biden's sweeping $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill late Friday.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy had discouraged defectors, urging his caucus before the vote not to assist Biden in delivering on elements of his domestic agenda.

Still, 13 House Republicans crossed party lines to vote in favor of the bipartisan infrastructure bill, which passed 228-206. With six progressives in revolt, the legislation would not have succeeded if it were not for their support.

Eight of the Republican defectors—Don Bacon of Nebraska, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Andrew Garbarino of New York, Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio, John Katko of New York, Tom Reed of New York, Christopher H. Smith of New Jersey, and Fred Upton of Michigan—are part of the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group of bipartisan lawmakers

Another five House Republicans—Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, Don Young of Alaska, Nicole Malliotakis of New York, David B. McKinley of West Virginia, and Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey—bucked their party to follow the party's traditionalist route of backing infrastructure funding."

Giuliani says he didn't have time to verify Trump's stolen election allegations.

Giuliani says in deposition he 'didn't have the time' to verify election claims: CNN

    excerpt:

"Rudy Giuliani, who served as Former President Trump's personal attorney, said during a deposition in mid-August that he “didn’t have the time” to look into whether reports of election fraud were credible, CNN, which obtained deposition tapes, reported Friday.

Giuliani is being sued by Dominion Voting Systems after he and other defendants connected to the former president repeatedly made claims, without evidence, that the 2020 election was rigged by Dominion Voting Systems in favor of Joe Biden.

“We had a report that the heads of Dominion and Smartmatic, somewhere in the mid-tweens, you know 2013, 2014, whatever, went down to Venezuela for a get-to-know meeting with [President Nicolás] Maduro so they could demonstrate to Maduro the kind of vote fixing they did for [former President Hugo] Chavez," Giuliani is shown saying during his deposition footage."

Trump has an opportunity to say he feels the pain of two anti-maskers who assaulted a bakery shop worker. (Your donuts were viciously taken away from you in such an unceremonious manner. You're very special. We love you. Now go home in peace and remember this day forever).

The two anti-maskers showed police their video thinking that the bakery shop worker would be arrested.
