Trump was planning his January 6 coup with his 'many meetings and many phone calls', the ones he is obstructing Congress from accessing for its investigation.

    Article from January 5, 2021.

White House’s daily Trump schedule description provokes hilarious response

    excerpt:

"For both Monday and Tuesday of this week a summary of Donald Trump’s official schedule as released by the White House reads: “President Trump will work from early in the morning until late in the evening. He will make many calls and have many meetings.”

The schedule — adapted from a similar summary schedule over the holiday period — generated amusement online with people wondering if it was “a note from his mom” or comparing it being “like a book report by a kid who didn’t read the book”.

There were comparisons to children’s books and authors including the ‘Dick and Jane’ series and the work of Richard Scarry or Dr Seuss."

Steve Martin did a recurring SNL sketch called 'Theodoric of York, Medieval Barber' where he would rely on superstition to try to heal people that would injure and kill his patients.

Near the end of the sketch, he would do a soliloquy that questioned his failed and unethical methods and would ponder a new approach called the scientific method.

At the end he would say, "Nah."

The current atmosphere of using horse anti-worm products to try to cure COVID is akin to a Steve Martin medieval barber sketch.

Fox News would be insane to criticize a lynch mob, but civil rights mean nothing, with a shredded constitution and Donald Duck proving just exactly what your money buys today.

The Capitol riot was supposedly Pence's fault.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/30/tru...rturn-the-election-caused-the-jan-6-riot.html

    excerpt:

"During the Jan. 6 insurrection, a lawyer for President Donald Trump emailed a top aide of Vice President Mike Pence claiming that Pence had caused the violence by refusing to block the certification of the election, according to the Washington Post.

Trump’s lawyer, John Eastman, continued to pressure Pence to overturn the election, even after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol.

Eastman had been trying to persuade Pence to not certify the election in order to allow state lawmakers to investigate Trump’s unfounded claims that there was widespread election fraud.

In January, Pence’s top aide, Greg Jacob, had drafted an opinion article about Trump’s outside lawyers, which included these email exchanges, but he chose not to publish the piece. The Post was able to obtain the draft of the opinion article.

The emails showed the extent to which Eastman was trying to persuade Pence to block the certification of the election, which is greater than what has been previously reported, according to the Washington Post."

Trump wants call logs, aide's notes hidden from Jan. 6 panel

    excerpt:

"Former President Donald Trump is trying to block documents including call logs, drafts of remarks and speeches and handwritten notes from his chief of staff relating to the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection from being released to the committee investigating the riot, the National Archives revealed in a court filing early Saturday.

Trump has sued to prevent the National Archives from transmitting those documents, and thousands more, to the House committee investigating the attack. President Joe Biden declined to assert executive privilege on most of Trump's records after determining that doing so is “not in the best interests of the United States.”

The Saturday filing, which came as part of the National Archives and Record Administration's opposition to Trump's lawsuit, details the effort the agency has undertaken to identify records from the Trump White House in response to a broad, 13-page request from the House committee for documents pertaining to the insurrection and Trump's efforts to undermine the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election.

The document offers the first look at the sort of records that could soon be turned over to the committee for its investigation."

Eastman appealed to the 'Deep State' belief to support his contention that supposed systemic voting fraud in the 2020 election aided Biden but not Trump.

‘A deliberate, orchestrated campaign’: the real story behind Trump’s attempted coup

    excerpt:

"In his Guardian interview, Eastman justified his Oval Office presentation to Pence on scenarios of how to overturn an election by pointing to widespread irregularities in the 2020 voting process. He claimed there were “violations of election law by state or county election officials” and “good, unrebutted evidence of fraud”.

Asked how he would answer the charge that has been leveled at him that he had sketched out an electoral coup, he replied: “That begs the question: was there illegality and fraud? If there was, and it altered the results of the election, then that undermines democracy, as we have someone put in office who has not been elected.”

But why would such widespread fraudulent activity be directed against Trump and not, say, Biden, or before him Barack Obama? Eastman said that it was because Trump was “pushing back against the deep state in American politics”.

The “deep state” had become such an entrenched bureaucracy that it was “unaccountable to the ultimate sovereign authority of the American people”, Eastman said. “Trump’s punching back had all of the forces aligned with that entrenched bureaucracy doing everything to stop him.”"

The same can be said for what Trump did to the American farmers. He damaged their livelihood with needless trade wars and later gave them direct government checks that amount to welfare payments.

‘A deliberate, orchestrated campaign’: the real story behind Trump’s attempted coup

    excerpt:

"“My advice to the vice-president was to allow the states formally to assess the impact of what they had determined were clear illegalities in the conduct of the election,” Eastman said. After a delay of a week or 10 days, if they found sufficient fraud to affect the result, they could then send Trump electors back to Congress in place of the previous Biden ones."

The election had already been assessed for two months with essentially no court wins for Trump.

All of the states had certified their results and the Electoral College had voted on December 14,

Trump had only one post-election win in the courts. It was in PA and related to how many days late ballots could arrive and still be eligible for counting. Trump gained a couple days to his advantage, which wasn't going to erase a win margin of about 80,000 votes for Biden.

Trump was using a biased method of trying to throw out as many votes as possible in regions won by a large margin by Biden.
