Trump plans to sue to keep White House records on Capitol attack secret

    excerpt:

"Trump is not guaranteed to win such cases over executive privilege given he is no longer president and the White House office of legal counsel previously declined to assert the protection for previous 6 January-related testimony by Trump justice department officials.

But the plan could delay, and therefore hamper, House select committee investigators as they aim to produce a final report before the 2022 midterm elections in order to shield their work from accusations of partisanship as the nation returns to the polls.

The select committee at the very latest is probably facing a hard deadline of January 2023 by which to complete its report, since Republicans will not vote to reauthorize a panel investigating Trump and his allies should they, as expected, retake control of the House.

As for the subpoenas issued to his top aides, Trump has said in recent days that he would invoke executive privilege to prevent Meadows, Scavino, Bannon and Patel from testifying to the select committee, repeating a tactic successfully used during his first impeachment."

Harris County wants election audit records turned over by state | khou.com

    excerpt:

    "Influenced by Trump?

The whole thing started last week when Former President Donald Trump called on Abbott to add a bill to the third special session that would launch a statewide investigation into election results.

Hours later, the secretary of state’s office announced that a “full forensic audit” was already underway in four counties, including Harris. Critics quickly accused Abbott of bowing to pressure from Trump.

Hidalgo called the move a "political ploy by a former president and someone who is trying to win party favor."

State Rep. Chris Turner, D-Grand Prairie tweeted described it as “pitiful.”

"Let me be the first to congratulate the disgraced former president, Donald Trump, on his apparently becoming the new governor of Texas," Turner tweeted. "Pitiful yet predictable that @GregAbbott_TX has capitulated to Trump yet again."

On Fox News Sunday, Abbott denied he was following Trump’s orders and said the audit started “months ago,” according to Politico."

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo introduces resolution denouncing 2020 Texas election audit

    excerpt:

"Saying he was "very much in support" of Hidalgo bringing the resolution, Ellis added, "Remember, we had an election, we certified the results, we had a regular session, we had a special session, we had another special session, and the issue never came up until President Trump asked Governor Abbott to do it, so it is, in my judgment, a waste of money."

Trump didn't ask Abbott to conduct an audit until after he saw the Cyber Ninjas report for the AZ audit that showed he had lost to Biden by even more than the original tally.

The report after $6 million and 5 months also didn't find significant fraud. Cyber Ninjas made speculations about perceived irregularities, stemming from its lack of election experience, that it insinuated could be the result of fraud.

Yeah, but he was elected mayor of NYC for his tough stance on crime, any crime, except white collar crime. Its amazing how much more valuable crime is, when its all-but-legal for only billionaires and Wall Street.

Cyber Ninjas can take its insinuations to court and see if they have any traction.

    Trump rioter pleads guilty.

A Doylestown woman who said she wanted to shoot Pelosi ‘in the friggin’ brain’ pleaded guilty to Capitol riot charges

    excerpt:

"A Bucks County gym owner who recorded herself during the storming of the Capitol saying she was looking for Nancy Pelosi “to shoot her in the friggin’ brain” pleaded guilty to a federal misdemeanor Tuesday, making her the latest Pennsylvanian to admit her role in the Jan. 6 riot.

Dawn Bancroft, 59, of Doylestown, told a federal judge she didn’t mean to threaten the House speaker and described her remark in hindsight as a “stupid, juvenile comment” made in the heat of the moment.

Yet, U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan expressed concern about Bancroft’s statements and questioned why prosecutors had agreed to let her plead to a misdemeanor count of illegally demonstrating, picketing, or parading inside the Capitol — which carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison — instead of pursuing more serious charges of threatening a member of Congress.

“It’s very troubling to hear that the reason [she] was at the Capitol on Jan. 6 was essentially to murder the speaker of the House,” the judge said."

Donald Duck is the world's greatest con artist ever, the widely acknowledge king of reality TV and Professional Wrestling, a billionaire, and has a "Get Out of Jail Free" card that Lindsey only wishes he could afford. Now that the feds are getting caught up on the largest bust in US history, everyone is going for their knives... Someone should make a composite video of conservatives turning on one another.

Tina Peters seems confused about the process of upgrading election machine software.

SENGENBERGER | Clearing up the hoopla in Mesa

    excerpt:

"CCCA recently confirmed “the trusted build process installs the new trusted build software and firmware files and removes the software and firmware files related to the old trusted build.” Additionally, Windows is reinstalled. That means, as with a personal computer, preexisting data is supplanted and logs are deleted. This is intentional and above-board.

Either Peters didn’t understand what happens in a trusted build, or she is being disingenuous. Say what you will about Dominion, there is nothing nefarious about the trusted build. Current and former clerks and staff attest the trusted build in Mesa was standard procedure.

Peters is adamant the removal of data violates state law because almost everything is wiped from the voting machine computers. Therefore, her countersuit insists, it was necessary for Peters to have “retained a consultant to image the hard drive of the county’s electronic vote-tabulating equipment.” This just isn’t so."

Some 90% of the public is stupid enough to have convinced themselves that they have common sense, when nobody has ever proven its existence, and are stupid enough to believe they are smarter than the average bear, and better than average at detecting bullshit. They tend to ignore anything you say that they believe contradicts conventional wisdom, meaning they will ignore just about anything you say they believe contradicts anything they say, and you might as well be talking to a parrot. Note the sincerity in these people reflects the fact they genuinely believe they are making a positive contribution, no matter how many idiots they throw in jail.

They are a culture of compulsive lairs, whose teachers are liars, and whose population is rapidly imploding with each new technology they invent. Essentially, they organize like chickens, and often are quite aware they are all lairs, but this is the only thing they have left, pathetic as it is, to call a life.

Peters' election 'report' enters world of Q-Anon

    excerpt:

"The report, which Peters’ attorney, Scott Gessler, also included as part of defending her and Deputy Clerk Belinda Knisley to block the two from overseeing the fall elections, alleges that nearly 29,000 election files were deleted during a routine upgrade of the county’s now-decertified election equipment in May.

Those files, however, were common log files that were part of the computer’s operating system, and not actual election files, state officials said.

The files that were deleted when Secretary of State and Dominion Voting System technicians upgraded the equipment last spring are a part of a routine procedure of election operating systems across the state, when older files that are no longer needed are routinely deleted and replaced with new files, the Secretary of State’s Office says."

Peters' election 'report' enters world of Q-Anon

    excerpt:

"“Prior to the routine upgrade to voting systems called the ‘trusted build,’ counties are directed to save to external media all data necessary to completely audit and verify a prior election,” the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office said in response to questions about the report.

“This data may be restored to the EMS (election management system) after the trusted build,” the office added. “No court has ever held that voting system event logs are election records within the meaning of (the law).”

Those trusted build sessions, which have been happening in Colorado since 2005, don’t impact election files that county clerks are required to maintain. Saving those files in a separate media, such as a thumb drive, is designed to make sure that if something goes awry during a software upgrade, those files are still available."

Peters, the Mesa County clerk, apparently was involved in a scheme that brought in a consultant who wasn't an employee of the county, but who was portrayed as one, to observe a trusted build. Security cameras were turned off for a couple months. The consultant apparently made a copy of the hard drive of a Dominion voting machine which later surfaced on the web.

Peters' actions made the voting machine system susceptible to manipulation by subversive actors (herself and the consultant first and potentially by others in the future). It did the opposite of her claimed intentions to make the system more secure.

Peters's deputy has already been arrested.

Being immersed in the world of Trump has a way of fostering these types of underhanded behavior.

Former U.S. Olympic swimmer pleads guilty to felony in Capitol riot case.

Former Olympic swimmer pleads guilty to felony in Jan. 6 case

    excerpt:

"Former Olympic swimmer Klete Keller on Wednesday pleaded guilty to a felony charge connected to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Keller pleaded guilty to obstructing an official proceeding, which was one of the seven charges against him related to the Jan. 6 riots.

The ex-Olympic swimmer was arrested in January after his former teammates and coaches recognized him in video footage taken at the Capitol the day of the attack that was posted on social media by a reporter from Townhall, a conservative outlet.

He was originally charged with three counts connected to the riots in January, but a grand jury the next month returned a new indictment that charged the swimmer with seven crimes related to the attack, including civil disorder, obstruction of an official proceeding, impeding passage through the Capitol grounds or buildings and disorderly and disruptive conduct in a Capitol building.

Keller on Wednesday pleaded guilty to obstruction of an official proceeding, according to WUSA 9, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison."
