She could have avoided the picketing charge and the theft charge if she hadn't been acting extra silly and carrying the 'members only' sign which was Capitol property that she had swiped. She said she will be proud telling her grandkids all about it someday.
Trump acolytes poised to push out Senate dealmakers excerpt: "In the five states where Republican senators are retiring, the primary election fields to succeed them are crowded with Donald Trump supporters who have made loyalty to the former president a cornerstone of their campaigns. The three top candidates to succeed Sen. Richard Burr in North Carolina have all denounced his vote to convict Trump in his last impeachment trial. In Pennsylvania, the four leading candidates to succeed Sen. Pat Toomey — who, like Burr, was formally rebuked by the state party for his impeachment vote — have embraced Trump’s calls for an “audit” of the state’s presidential election results, to varying degrees."
Trump acolytes poised to push out Senate dealmakers excerpt: "Those stylistic distinctions are glaring in Alabama, where Trump has endorsed Rep. Mo Brooks for retiring Sen. Richard Shelby’s seat. Brooks, a House Freedom Caucus member, is best known for speaking at the Jan. 6 rally in Washington that preceded the Capitol riots and urging the crowd to "start taking down names and kicking ass.""
Trump Reveals His Master Plan for Afghanistan: We Should’ve ‘Let It Rot’ excerpt: "“It’s something that’s rather incredible,” he said. “They [the people supposedly controlling Biden] do horrible things, vicious things. They cheat, steal, lie. But they can’t do a simple withdrawal from a country that we should never have gone into in the first place... We should have hit that country years ago, hit it them really hard, and then let it rot.” The former president was repeatedly thrown softball questions about how he would’ve handled the situation if he hadn’t lost the election. However, he repeatedly failed to give any answers of substance, merely saying that he would’ve won the war in Afghanistan if only he’d had a few more months. “He [Biden] handed them a country on a silver platter,” said Trump. “He ought to apologize and stop trying to, excuse the language, bullshit everybody into thinking that what he did was good. We should have withdrawn but we should have withdrawn in a totally different way, with great dignity. It would have been a tremendous win for us.” Again, he didn’t elaborate on what “totally different way” would have resulted in the “tremendous win” despite being asked for details."
Trump rioter pleads guilty. Former Suburban CEO Pleads Guilty to Charges in US Capitol Riot excerpt: "Under a plea agreement, Rukstales agreed to plead guilty to parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building, which carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. In exchange, prosecutors said he will not be prosecuted further and will request the remaining charges be dismissed. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 12. Rukstales, of Inverness, was charged earlier this year with "knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; or knowingly, with intent to impede government business or official functions, engaging in disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds; and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds." Rukstales was the CEO of Schaumburg-based Cogensia, but he was terminated by the Board of Directors following news of his arrest."
I predict : When trump was elected , it was the beginning of the end of America as it has been for over 200 years, good and bad. The bad urges / behavior he has brought out in a great many citizens will now----again I predict: be a part of American life from here on until this country has changed irrevocably. I do not think that there is a way to change the drummed up angst as developed by trumps cultists ,exacerbated on an hourly basis by the right wing media and legislators.
Trump's people for hours at the seat of the federal government with all members of Congress present (plus the VP) were beating police officers silly with American flags, pepper spraying them, tasering them, dragging them down stairs, and heave-ho squashing them in a door nearly to death. The reaction by some of the police and the punishment by the courts seems disproportionate to what happens to other people. A minority on the street accidentally brushes up against a police officer and has a good chance of being beaten or shot to death.
Dress them up as homeless, and see if it makes any difference. Fuck the pigs, they were ones who got themselves killed.
Two authoritarians exchanging love letters. ‘Proud of you’: Trump writes letter to Hungary’s authoritarian leader Viktor Orbán excerpt: "Hungary’s far-right prime minister Viktor Orbán has shared a picture of what appears to be a very warm letter sent to him by Donald Trump. In it, Trump wrote: “Thank you for your beautiful letter and for your generous support and encouragement on behalf of the citizens of Hungary.” He continued: “I am grateful for your continued friendship and enduring commitment to fighting for the ideals you and I cherish: freedom, patriotic pride, and liberty.” In bold felt tip pen underneath the formal letter, he added a postscript. “Great job on Tucker (Fox) Proud of you!” Mr Orbán posted a snap of the letter on Instagram, captioning it with a sunglasses emoji and a message saying: ‘Thanks for watching.”"
It happened there: how democracy died in Hungary A new kind of authoritarianism is taking root in Europe — and there are warning signs for America. Zack Beauchamp Sep 13, 2018, 9:30am EDT It happened there: how democracy died in Hungary excerpt: "Regardless, the Fidesz constitutional majority swiftly went to work, rewriting parts of the constitution within months of taking power. Parliamentary districts were redrawn and gerrymandered to give Fidesz a leg up. Liberal bastions, principally large cities like Budapest and Szeged in the south, were divided so that large numbers of people were packed into a handful of parliamentary districts, while each district in Hungary’s conservative countryside had fewer people in it. The new constitution also expanded the size of the country’s constitutional court, which decides whether laws passed by parliament are constitutional. Orbán filled the new seats with Fidesz loyalists. All judges over the age of 62 were also forced to retire, so their seats could be filled with even more Fidesz-friendly jurists. The constitutional changes were supplemented by legislation expanding the scope of Fidesz’s authority. Civil servants were fired en masse, and Fidesz allies were installed in vital roles, like election supervision. Hungary’s state broadcaster was brought under the control of a new media board — and its editorial slant began to mirror Fidesz’s positions. Szelényi at the time was working for the Budapest office of the Council of Europe, an international human rights watchdog. She says most observers didn’t understand what Orbán was up to until it was too late. “He benefited from the supermajority so quickly that no one really realized” what happened, she explains. “We could follow this in Hungary, but I think Europe only opened their eyes in 2015. Five years later, they understood who this person was. But by that time, Hungary was completely changed.”"
It happened there: how democracy died in Hungary excerpt: "By 2017, 90 percent of all media in Hungary was owned by either the state or a Fidesz ally, according to a count by Budapest-based scholar Marius Dragomir. This media empire includes every single regional newspaper in the country. Fidesz also worked to reshape the electorate itself. A 2010 law granted citizenship rights to ethnic Hungarians in nearby countries like Romania, including the ability to vote and to access Hungarian social benefit payments. Though many of these ethnic Hungarians have never set foot in Hungary, more than a million non-domestic Hungarians have signed up for the citizenship program. They currently make up about 10 percent of the electorate and are largely on board with Orbán’s right-nationalist agenda, voting for Fidesz at an astonishing 95 percent rate."
All in the family. Trump rioter, Samuel Lazar, attended an event with Giuliani and posed for a photo with Mastriano, a PA state senator who wants an audit of the 2020 election in the hopes of overthrowing the election. Lazar was later arrested for his involvement in the insurrection at the Capitol. A judge has ordered that he stay in jail until his trial. Capitol Rioter Who Palled Around With Pa. Republicans Ordered Jailed Until Trial excerpt: "A Pennsylvania Donald Trump enthusiast who attended an event with Rudy Giuliani when he was wanted by the FBI for allegedly assaulting officers at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 was ordered held in jail until trial. Samuel Lazar, a Trump supporter arrested last month after being identified as a rioter who assaulted law enforcement at the Capitol on Jan. 6, was ordered held until trial by Magistrate Judge Robin Meriweather. Meriweather said Lazar’s alleged actions showed “complete disregard to the rule of law” and that the evidence against him was “overwhelming.” She said Lazar had a “mixed” personal history which included prior criminal offenses, and that the broader belief in the “big lie” ― that the presidential election was stolen from Trump ― created a dangerous environment."
Sensationalist bullshit. The US sets the standard for democracy, and the entire world follows our example!

Capitol Rioter Who Palled Around With Pa. Republicans Ordered Jailed Until Trial excerpt: "In a video shot down the street from the Capitol, Lazar told onlookers that they “maced ’em [law enforcement officers] right the fuck back.” “Fuck the tyrants,” Lazar said. “We need to hang these motherfuckers.”"
