    excerpt:

"Lt. Michael Byrd, the officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt during the Jan. 6 invasion of the U.S. Capitol, said in his first comments after publicly revealing his identity that the unarmed rioter was “posing a threat” to Congress.

“I had been yelling and screaming as loud as I was, ‘Please stop, get back, get back,‘” Byrd told NBC Nightly News’ Lester Holt in an interview that aired Thursday evening.

“You’re ultimately hoping your commands will be complied with, and unfortunately they were not,” he said."

Byrd is an African American. This puts trump in another quandary.

Afghanistan: Former advisor to Mike Pence warned in 2020 that Trump was setting up another 'Benghazi'

    excerpt:

"Perhaps by design, perhaps by incompetence, perhaps out of sheer spite or arrogance, Trump has created the circumstances for another Bay of Pigs, Black Hawk Down, or Benghazi," James Golby, who served as a special advisor to Vice President Mike Pence, wrote in a November article for The Atlantic. Those were all situations, he wrote, "where the United States inserted itself into overseas conflicts enough to draw lethal opposition but without sufficient strength to protect its people."

On Thursday, more than 60 Afghans were killed in suicide attacks outside Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, per reports, along with at least 13 US troops. The extremist group ISIS-K has claimed responsibility.

Golby, a US Army veteran who is a senior fellow at the Clements Center for National Security at the University of Texas at Austin, took issue with Trump's mid-November decision because, he wrote, he would be "leaving behind an unsustainable presence in Afghanistan, a crisis for the Afghan people, and a mess for the Biden-Harris administration."

It's more cannon fodder for Trump's supporters and improves his chance of being reelected in 2024.

The 2024 presidential election is turning into Capitol Insurrection vs. Afghanistan Demise.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That’s assuming Trump will even be alive in 3 years. He’s 75 years old and just 5 months into his administration he’d be 79.

He’s already an incoherent mess. Just imagine how fucked up he’d be 3 ½ years from now.

And the people, again, suffer over political shenanigans. These funds shouldn’t be held hostage and any politicians who do that should be charged. A true Trump-like dick move! I hope that come election time, the people of Maricopa County remember this.

Thanks egger for consistently posting important information about how warped, moral less , people that identify as conservative , republicans in thought and action have no scruples whatsoever. Their thinking is upside down compared to those who value honesty, integrity as touchstones to their behavior. Truly disgusting people.

Trumpian tricks in VA to remove Democratic party governor candidate.

Virginia Republicans file suit over McAuliffe's paperwork

    excerpt:

"The declaration must be declared legally insufficient, and McAuliffe must be disqualified from appearing on any general election ballot,” Republicans wrote in a complaint filed in Richmond Circuit Court.

Renzo Olivari, a McAuliffe spokesperson, dismissed the suit, saying the campaign had submitted the required paperwork.

"This is nothing more than a desperate Trumpian move by the Virginia GOP to deprive voters of a choice in this election because Terry is consistently leading in the polls," he said in a statement.

Spawned in part by the Trump stolen election narrative, Texas legislature passes restrictive voting bill to try to protect the GOP from changing demographics.

Texas House passes new voting restrictions as Democratic hopes of killing the legislation wane

    excerpt:

"Democratic attempts to stave off a far-reaching rewrite of the state’s voting laws coveted by Republicans seeking to retain their hold on power in a changing Texas.

One week after finally regaining enough members to conduct business, the Texas House slogged through a 12-hour floor debate Thursday before signing off on a slightly revised version of the Republican legislation that first prompted Democrats to stage a nearly six-week absence from the Capitol. The late-night 79-37 initial vote on Senate Bill 1 moved the state closer to enacting new voting restrictions, including limits on early voting hours and other measures opponents say will raise new barriers for marginalized voters, especially voters of color, who tend to vote Democratic, and those with disabilities.

The House returned Friday to give the bill final approval, 80-41, leaving the House and Senate to resolve their differences before the legislation heads to Gov. Greg Abbott."

Five schools shut down in Cullman County, Alabama where Trump held his rally.

Four of the schools have 'Good Hope' in their names.

Difficult to top that one, other than to have Trump hold his rallies right inside the schools and demand that no masks be worn.
