Naturally, the Republican voters never expressed a problem with Trump being the first presidential candidate to refuse to disclose his tax returns. Yet, can you imagine the outrage they would have expressed had Clinton, Obama or Biden refused to show theirs?

Jeez, we would never hear the end of it. There would be hourly bulletins on Fox News with detailed reports on the downfall of America due to the Democratic presidential contender failing to follow this 'sacred' tradition..

AZ state senator Sonny Borrelli has called for an AG investigation after Maricopa County officials refused to comply with a subpoena to turn over more election materials including routers.

Arizona audit: Sen. Sonny Borrelli prompts attorney general probe

    excerpts:

"The request from Sen. Sonny Borrelli, R-Lake Havasu City, could imperil millions of dollars of sales tax revenue the state shares with the county. It also turns up the heat on a Senate-county struggle that appeared to hit a pause after Monday's inaction."

"Under a state law passed several years ago, lawmakers can request such investigations if they believe a city, town or county has adopted a policy that violates state law. The attorney general is obligated to do such an investigation and produce a report within 30 days of the request.

If the investigation finds the local government did indeed violate state law, the town, city or county has 30 days to resolve the situation or lose its share of state-shared sales tax. For the budget year that ended in June, Maricopa County received $715 million."

The AG investigation could take up to 30 days and the county has 30 days to comply with the results. The standoff could be pushed into October, close to a year after the November 2020 election that the GOP AZ senate is still disputing.

Cyber Ninjas would need time after receiving the materials (assuming the Maricopa County would be forced to turn them over) which could take additional weeks or even months.

Western Arizona is one of the most conservative parts of the state. The nearest big town is Kingman. I believe that OKC bomber, Timothy McVeigh, spent some time in Kingman.

Was it just a draft letter to appease Donald Trump or did they really send it to Georgia officials?

Trump loyalist at DOJ circulated draft Georgia letter with false election fraud claims

The draft December 28 letter, urged top Georgia officials to convene the state legislature in a special session to evaluate supposed "irregularities" in the 2020 election.

The letter said, falsely, that Justice Department had identified "significant concerns that may have impacted of the outcome of the election in multiple States, including the State of Georgia."

The letter was circulated by Jeffrey Clark, a top department official who was working with the then-President to get the department more directly involved in the Trump election reversal crusade. Clark was acting attorney general of the civil division at the time.

Two more Utahns have been arrested for their involvement in Capitol riot

    excerpt:

"SALT LAKE CITY — Two more Utahns have been arrested for their involvement in the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021. According to arrest records, Janet West Buhler and Jacob Kyle Wiedrich were arrested on multiple charges.

According to arrest records Buhler was charged on Friday. She faces charges for knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, entering and remaining in the Gallery of Congress, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.

Though two more Utahns have been arrested, court documents show Buhler is related to another suspect. Michael Lee Hardin was arrested with similar charges on April 2, 2021. The Statement of Facts document lists Janet as Hardin’s stepmother-in-law and she traveled with him to D.C.

The other Utahn that has been arrested Jacob Kyle Wiedrich is facing similar charges. Wiedrich was charged on Thursday. Arrest records show screenshots from a video inside the capitol. He is seen walking down the hallway towards the House wing of the building that day."

Trump apparently had plans to replace Rosen with Clark.

Barr had already resigned from his AG position before Christmas, perhaps because he was frustrated with the direction Trump was going with his alleged election fraud crusade.

    Jeffrey Clark - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"Clark allegedly told Rosen and other top Justice Department officials that the Department should announce it was investigating serious election fraud issues, drafting a letter claiming the DOJ had identified "significant concerns that may have impacted the outcome of the election in multiple States" and urging the Georgia legislature to convene a special session for the "purpose of considering issues pertaining to the appointment of Presidential Electors."[18] Rosen and his deputy Richard Donoghue rejected the suggestion, as the Department had previously determined and announced that there was no significant fraud.[19] Rosen and Donoghue were unaware that Clark had met with Trump. Clark later told Rosen that Trump intended to appoint him to replace Rosen. The Department's remaining senior leaders – including Rosen, Donoghue, and Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel Steven Engel – agreed they would all resign if Rosen was removed. After Rosen and Clark presented their arguments to Trump in a White House meeting, the president declined to pursue the option.[12][17]"

Exclusive Video: Glenn Allen Brooks, 61, Of Huntington Beach Arrested Thursday In Connection To Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol Riot

    excerpt:

"Investigators said they compared pictures of Brooks to shots from the January 6 riot, and agents conducting surveillance in March got a photograph where Brooks had the same white beard as the man seen inside the Capitol.

For his involvement in the chaos that day, Brooks has been charged with unlawful entry and disorderly conduct on restricted grounds.

More than two dozen California residents have reportedly been charged in connection to the breach at the Capitol, including former UCLA student Christian Secor. The 22-year-old was charged with assaulting or resisting a police officer, among other things.

Former La Habra Police Chief Alan Hostetter was one of six people arrested in June for allegedly conspiring to storm the building."

I think all those people are damn lucky that they haven't been charged with insurrection or treason. Unlawful entry? Disorderly conduct? A slap on the Proverbial wrist.

Trump-backed Carey wins GOP nod in Ohio special election
The former president did a tele-rally for the Republican primary winner just before Tuesday's vote.

Trump-backed Carey wins GOP nod in Ohio special election

    excerpt:

"Mike Carey has won the Republican primary for a vacant House seat south of Columbus, vaulting to the top of a crowded special election field with support from former President Donald Trump.

Carey’s win affirms Trump’s ability to influence Republican primaries with endorsements even while out of office during the Biden administration. Trump advisers were eyeing the Ohio primary after Susan Wright, another Republican House candidate backed by the former president, lost her own special election for a district in Texas last week.

Carey took 37 percent of the vote to 13 percent for state Rep. Jeff LaRe, in second place."

Texas GOP Official Mocked COVID Five Days Before He Died of Virus

    excerpt:

"A GOP official from Texas who regularly espoused anti-vaccine and anti-mask views online has died from COVID-19, five days after posting a meme on Facebook questioning the wisdom of getting inoculated against COVID.

Dickinson City Council member and State Republican Executive Committee member H. Scott Apley, 45, died in a local hospital around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help Apley’s family with expenses. He was admitted to the facility in Galveston on Sunday with “pneumonia-like symptoms,” and was hooked up to a ventilator as his condition worsened. His wife was also infected, the family said.

“He leaves behind his wife, Melissa, who is COVID positive, as well as their infant son Reid,” according to the fundraiser, which has so far raised almost $15,000 of its $30,000 goal. “Your donations are greatly appreciated and will help the family as they get through this difficult period.”

“My heart is beyond broken for his family,” Dickinson Mayor Sean Skipworth wrote in a Facebook post. “Scott was a new father and that makes this loss especially tragic.”"
