    The mentality of DeSantis:

Florida virus cases soar, hospitals near last summer's peak

    excerpt:

"The governor's stance against lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccine passports is a key component of his reelection campaign. The campaign is selling koozies with the phrase “How the hell am I going to drink a beer with a mask on?” and T-shirts reading: “Don’t Fauci My Florida.”"

That's just Florida, you get used to it, and stick with the Disney Land tour.

DeSantis wants Fauci fired and investigated.

DeSantis Slams CDC Guidance, Calls For Fauci To Be Fired, Investigated

    excerpt:

"Wuhan is where COVID-19 originated, although NPR and other news outlets have reported most experts don’t think a lab leak is the likely cause of COVID-19, citing a World Health Organization (WHO) team’s investigation. The WHO team concluded the virus most likely jumped from animals to humans.

DeSantis goes on to say in the campaign email, “Fauci needs to be fired and an investigation into his role in funding the Wuhan lab must be launched immediately.”

A day after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported more than 16,000 new COVID cases in Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis slammed the agency's new masking guidance while speaking at a conservative conference in Utah."

In Trumpworld, Fauci caused the coronavirus and Pelosi caused the Capitol riot.

DeSantis is spending $3.6 million on sending stimulus checks by mail so that recipients can see his his logo on them. The checks are labled 'bonus'.

The money comes from Biden's federal stimulus program.

DeSantis Spending $3.6 Million of Florida Taxpayers' Money to Send Checks With Governor's Logo to Cops and Teachers

    excerpt:

"Ron DeSantis is spending $3.6 million to send $1000 paper checks emblazoned with the logo of the Florida Governor through the mail to the state’s police officers and first responders, and teachers and principals, rather than use the direct deposit payroll systems currently in place. The $1000 checks are being called “bonuses” but the funds actually come from President Joe Biden’s federal stimulus program.

The checks will not have the logo of the President of the United States or the Democratic Party. No Republican Senator or Congressman voted to pass the bill that funded the $1000 checks."

DeSantis is behaving similarly to Trump who put his name on federal stimulus checks issued by the U.S. Treasury.

Donald Duck is just smart enough to know the mass media runs the country and, no doubt, his pajamas are monogrammed.

As illustrated by the accompanying image, how frustrating is it that the poor & middle class Republicans simply can't.....or won't.....see the obvious? The rich have to laughing their butts off as the poor & middle class folks help support the rich in increasing the financial gap between the people. The folks with less money know that the gap is widening yet they refuse to see that they're the reason why.

    Frustrating.

And why shouldn't he? I have neighbors who honestly believe that the stimulus money came directly out of Trump's personal account. I asked if they were kidding.

    They weren't.

    Why did they believe it?

Because Trump's signature was right there at the bottom of the damn check.

Does anyone want to try and fight stupidity like that?

    Lots of luck.

trump was the catalyst to show these people's ignorance.
You know, trump has something in common with Hillary. They both realize these people are deplorable. One of them just takes advantage of them.

Yeah, Trump moved right in and capitalized on that very comment that cost Hillary the election in 2016. Though she was right about them, it cost her dearly.

History repeats itself. The German people elected Hitler to keep Jews, Gypsys, Gays and Communists from ruining their lives, not seeing that it was government and industry that was ruining their lives.

We all pretty much know what happened in Germany in the last century and how to think about those events concerning the wars and deaths that that fine example of humanitarianism provided. ( some moronic present day exceptions of course.) I'm wondering how this era of trump and the gutless --and in my opinion--evil republican legislators and the hapless pukes that still revere the psychopathic germ of an ex president will be written about in the annals of history in the coming decades. My feeling is at times, is that we as a nation will survive this assault on what's left of our so-called democracy. This era and the continuing results of allowing the government to be twisted out of shape by right wing distortions on a daily basis , is just the culmination of a type of conservatism that has always been around, but has now allowed the authoritarian , anti democratic, racist, heretofore semi-hidden thoughts and actions of so many ,to become very, VERY mainstream. Surely as time goes by and this era fades into the obscurity it so richly deserves, there will have been much more thought and effort put into reinforcing and improving the checks and balances given us by the founders.

I believe a part of those prospective, hoped for efforts MUST ---must include some kind of penalties for outright lying. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Of course , some educational provisions for a larger proportion of our citizens , not for earning a place on the capitalist zombie treadmill, but to teach people to think critically about pretty much anything and everything involved in lives hopefully well lived. The liars will then be laughed out of existence as they should be.

Then again,on the other hand--just as racism is passed from generation to generation and conservatism and the tendency to tolerate if not inculcate racism and authoritarianism in successive generations ,this era of deplorable thought and action may continue and even worsen. However indifferent, ignorant or downright stupid / intransigent almost half the country turns out to be------------this may be a lasting boil on the ass of this country that WILL NOT subject itself to a healing lance.

Let's not just watch and hope--lets make sure that what the historians write is that we survived this onslaught of ignoramuses, evil self dealing liars and all assaults from within and without. At this point we are not jailed or killed for WORDS SPOKEN. Can't say the same for billions of other humans. ----------;)

'Botched': Arizona GOP's ballot count ends, troubles persist

    excerpt:

"PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Republicans’ partisan review of the 2020 election results got off to a rocky start when their contractors broke rules for counting ballots and election experts warned the work was dangerous for democracy.

When the auditors stopped the counting and returned the ballots this week, it hadn’t gotten better. In the last week alone, the only audit leader with substantial election experience was locked out of the building, went on the radio to say he was quitting, then reversed course hours later. The review’s Twitter accounts were suspended for breaking the rules. A conservative Republican senator withdrew her support, calling the process “botched.” And the lead auditor confirmed what was long suspected: that his work was almost entirely paid for by supporters of Donald Trump who were active in the former president’s movement to spread false narratives of fraud.

All this came nearly 100 days into a process that was supposed to take “about 60 days,” according to the Senate Republicans who launched it. And it’s not over yet. Contractors are now producing a report on the findings that could take weeks or more to write.

The turmoil casts even more doubt on the conclusions of what backers describe as a “forensic audit” but what experts and critics say is a deeply flawed, partisan process.

“Not even a shred of being salvaged at this point,” said Sen. Paul Boyer, the first Republican state senator to publicly come out against the audit in May. “They’ve botched it at so many points along the way that it’s irrecoverable.”"
