Barr wouldn't overturn the election for Trump. He resigned shortly before Christmas.

Acting AG Rosen wouldn't overturn the election.

Sources say Trump wanted to replace Rosen with Clark to overturn the election.

Report: Trump Wanted To Fire Acting AG Rosen Because He Wouldn’t Help Overturn The Election

    excerpt:

"Citing four sources, the New York Times reported that Trump wanted to replace Rosen with DOJ lawyer Jeffrey Clark because Clark promised to use the department’s power to invalidate Biden’s close win in Georgia."

You know its bad, when lawyers start debating whether Donald Duck will ever be thrown in jail. That's the real question that nobody is asking:

Just how much justice does a billion dollars buy?

Trump is having a bad week.

U.S. Justice Dept says IRS must provide former President Trump's tax returns to Congress

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON, July 30 (Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department on Friday ordered the Internal Revenue Service to hand over former President Donald Trump's tax returns to a House of Representatives committee, saying the panel has offered "sufficient reasons" for requesting the material.

The department's Office of Legal Counsel reversed course and declared that the department erred in 2019 when Trump was still in office when it found that the request for his taxes by the Democratic-led House Ways and Means Committee was based on a "disingenuous" objective aimed at exposing them to the public.

"We cannot know where receipt of the requested tax information will take the committee, any more than the committee itself can predict what it will find or determine," wrote Acting Assistant Attorney General Dawn Johnsen for the Office of Legal Counsel."

I don’t understand why People like McCarthy support trump. He had a safe seat before trump, and will after trump dies. He doesn’t need trump’s support. McCarthy is backed by big Ag.

Well, he'll never see jail time or a conviction in his lifetime, so, putting a zillion bucks into the economy with legal defense will at least pay some rich kids' college tuition and keep the Mercedes dealers in business, after all, you know how hard it is to buy a car today....

Post 43161 : That little video posted by Tyrsonwood explains exactly why our democracy has been twisted completely out of shape. The super rich including the huge corporations support the republicans and the republicans support the super rich and the huge corporations. The repubs are completely bought and sold by them and the laws they pass are for the most part , passed for the benefit of that class of people / businesses and must therefore be automatically inimical / useless for the working people of his country. Just goes to show----a great portion of the of the working class are unfortunately too damn stupid to see that voting for republicans is the worst possible thing that they could do.:eek:

Donald Duck is the biggest shit magnet on the planet right now, and McCarthy could not ask for better free advertising. With conservatives, name recognition is everything, because they'll believe anything you spout.

Plenty of idiots draw every fly for miles around, but Donald Duck attracts sharks and vultures, who pile the crap even higher.

Florida virus cases soar, hospitals near last summer's peak

    excerpt:

"MIAMI (AP) — Hospital admissions of coronavirus patients continue to soar in Florida with at least two areas in the state surpassing the previous peaks of last summer's surge, prompting calls by local officials for the governor to declare an emergency.

A large hospital system in Jacksonville said its hospitals were at maximum capacity, its emergency centers also at a critical point as the state grappled with the new and more infectious delta variant of the COVID-19 virus.

In Brevard County, two hospitals began setting up treatment tents at its emergency departments. And at a Fort Lauderdale park, a long line of cars snaked around a testing site, recalling the first weeks of the pandemic last year.

Florida hospitals reported more than 8,900 patients with COVID-19 on Thursday, according to data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Florida Hospital Association said the state peaked at 10,179 cases last July."

    • Starting Friday, July 30, masks will be required indoors for all park employees and all visitors, reported CNN.
    • The requirements for masks or face coverings will apply to vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors, reported CNBC."

COVID-19: House Republicans protest mask mandate as infections surge

    excerpt:

"Washington – House Republicans staged a maskless protest on Thursday against the latest COVID-19 protocols in Congress, put in place amid a spike in new infections in Washington, D.C., and around the country.

The protest by House GOP lawmakers, who marched over to the Senate without masks, was a display of defiance after the Capitol's attending physician Brian Monahan reimposed a mask mandate for lawmakers and congressional staff. Monahan cited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's new recommendation that vaccinated and unvaccinated people should wear masks in indoor spaces as the highly transmissible delta variant drives up COVID caseloads."
